But even as an rf fan I accept Novak was the better all round player. Rf was really poor on clay. That's the one thing that let's him down for me. Bit like sampras. Brilliant on the other 3. But rg was his achilles.

Either way I think that era of tennis was great.

But I feel like the era of the late 80s and 90s was better as we had more world class players to choose from.

Well sampras was the goat until Fed took over. So not really silly at all. But I get the 0 rg apps. This really let samp down big time.

But that era I feel that era was alot more deeper in quality.

Like I said I'm.a fed fan. But no excuses for only winning it once. And even that one time he won it did he face rafa in final ?

Come on man, but for Rafa, Fed would have had multiple French Open titles. Sure, it was his weakest surface but at one time he was the second best clay courter on tour. A bad clay courter isn't going to win the French Open. Fed was very capable on clay. Very different to Sampras.

As to Novak, he probably is the greatest player of all time, but in terms of entertainment and the joy of watching the game Fed was on another planet.
