He has good technique but he has wooden right leg, very slight and tiny, very rusty . God I hope he comes good I don’t want to dislike him. He warmed up into the game.

Plus with Kalulu and Caldara injured why start all three main cbs at once, who do you sub in if theres an injury ? Pelegrino?

You choose to rest only one, Theo or Calabria, not both. Formation change should only come to rest 37yo Giroud. Play false nine, start Jovic, anything other than playing Giroud.

Verona isnt the craziest team so he might get away with it, but this is just amateurish. This is not how you rotate players in tight schedules.

Sure, our usual play from the back, especially this season, has both full backs pushing up and a mid dropping between the center backs. But the shape is still a back four. When he played the 343 vs Cremonese last season iirc, it was completely flat with little movement in the back. We’ll see soon, but on paper this is screaming imbalance.

Maybe revisionist but i recall him being better at it at some point. He had a good cb rotation before Kjaers injury. Even full backs would rotate more often. At some point he became too reliant on individuals like Theo, Leao and Giroud.
