That has always been RnB. We have some world class assholes.
Men who have lived through the Great Depression…grew up riding horses and then saw the creation of the combustion engine, world war veterans (or draft dodgers)
All those experiences don’t prepare for RnB

Nothing does.

What a shame Nashville didn't happened. We were really close.

Fouls per yellow card. Inter almost double Napoli, Lazio, Roma, Milan and Juve. Huge jump from the Cagliari (second most fouls per card) and Inter.

Welcome back. Pioli signed a 5-yr extension, to the joy of @Neruda, and Theo is off to Bayern. Did I add that Dollar is coming back with Magic Mike off to FC Hollywood as well? I think that's all.
I really like your positivity.

AC Milan and Davide Calabria have not made much progress in talks over a contract extension, a report claims, but there is not too much panic at the moment.

As TMW report, Calabria is the captain of Milan and he has been a part of the academy since he was a boy, but he has a contract expiring in 2025 which is the end of next season.

The talks between the parties, i.e. the player and the club, have intensified in recent weeks. At the moment, however, the situation appears to be in a ‘stalemate’.

Sources close to the situation suggest that Milan would like to extend Calabria’s contract until 2027 but maintain the current €2m net per season that he receives as a salary, while the full-back will obviously seek a pay rise.

While waiting to understand how things will evolve, it is possible that in the summer there will be negotiations for the role of right-back, with the potential that a player could arrive in that role to provide competition.

He will next year.

What I don't get is that people seemed to be celebrating us signing him a few weeks back, and it looked like a carbon copy of the Diaz deal to me.

Good ball control, very strong. More of an AMF than anything. We have Reijnders and we have other needs right now
RB - Vanderson from Monaco
CDM - Alan Varela from Porto / A.Onana from Everton

They could/are still at affordable prices

When I was young, Rivera. Many more since then.
im thinking about making this a copy & paste every couple weeks post..the sooner milan fans gets on the same train as ownership, the brighter your world will be.
(after reading a certain # of posts, i cant help but lay out my point of view...very theraputic)

1. ownership wants to restore us to the glory of being a perenial CL finalist and true contender for scudetto every season...and maintain this level.
to do this, we need a financial structure that is self suffiecient ... meaning a stadium and market approach that is based on value
this is not done in one or two seasons...a foundation needs to be built and then standard maintenance to keep it viable.
while some of you are impatient and want immediate results (which i sympathise with), ownership is primarily focused on building that foundation.
2. Milan does not "have" to sell anyone, but all players are "for sale". this means, that if an offer = more than the players is worth
worth is not just $, but on the field, off the field and locker room.
3. owernship is there to make sure the finances are run properly and get the stadium built. they will rely on the management team to provide expertise in player evaluations, coaching etc.
it appears that maldini didnt share the same road map, this doesnt mean they hate each other or we need hate one or the other.
it also appears that after maldini left, ownership was not completely satisfied with the management, so they hired Zlatan.

Pioli:
he is a good coach.
his tactics and substitutions are beyond my ability to defend, as I really dont agree with a lot of it.
he did very well, taking a young team and bring them to where we are comfortable making CL each year.
All the good he has done, does NOT equate into being the coach needed, once the foundation is built.
example, look at ten hag, who a lot of people thought would be great here and a great coach.
as zlatan put it - ten hag, found success at ajax, working with young players and getting them to buy into his system. that is a lot different than coaching a team full of WC players and getting them (& their ego's) to buy into a system.
imho: he's not the guy, however, if our target is a few years out, then a switch now, should only be done, it "the one" becomes available.
what we dont want to do, is get a coach that threatens our foundation and delays the progress.
and no matter how many posts we have about wanting or needing a DM...it aint gonna happen.
1. I do not fully trust Cardinale or Furlani, but I am willing to believe that they have reasonably ambitious goals. I definitely agree that we need to have a solid financial foundation to achieve a sustainable level of sporting success (you can win a year or even two by overspending, but eventually it will catch up to you). I wish more of our fans understood this.

2. I kind of agree we do not have to sell ... but not completely. Selling Tonali last year allowed us to rebuild (something we needed to do). I doubt we would have got there w/o Tonali money. More important, there are situations where it is wise to sell players. If there is a big enough offer, if the player wants to leave, or if the player is being unreasonable with their requests. So we need to be open minded about this.

3. Interesting how people are not over the Maldini saga yet. Great player, helped dig us out of "banter era", but also made his share of mistakes (some bad ones). AFAIAC, Milan is more important than any individual (even Maldini). Also, I do not get why people love to dump on management. I understand questioning decisions (I am not suggesting we become sycophants), and I can see things deteriorating to the point where one can completely lose faith (happened to me with late B&G and also with Fassobelli once they got exposed as frauds). But I do not think either Elliott or RedBird deserve the hatred they have gotten (and still get).

Pioli. I defended him last year. I disagree with people that see him as a complete failure. He is a good coach. He did get us XIX, got us into CL and all the way to the semis. He did all of this despite a less than stellar team. He helped some players evolve. That said, some of his decisions are questionable (at best), he is hard headed, and the team often looks ... lost. I still think it made sense to keep him last year, but I believe it is time to move on. I agree it all depends on who we replace him with.

I get that, and in fact I did not suggest we go for a DM. Still, I think we need someone that can do a better job at helping with the defense. Kessie did. Tonali, to some extent. Bakayoko could have (if he was not a disaster). So I do not believe it is completely out of the question.

A move that resulted in Milan returning to the Champions League 3 consecutive seasons and a Scudetto.

The horror……

If Pioli stays I'm not gonna loose my nerves next season. He's not worth it. Forget the scudetto with Pioli it ain't happening again.

I hope Ibra has some brains between the nose and the ego and will find a coach.

And Diaz deal gave us a decent player.
Jimenez could delay us spending money on a RB freeing money that will be used on ST & DM.

trust me, I value DM probably more than any other position.
i coached for good spell and always ended up with my strongest player in that position.
(my son went D1 as a "holding mid")

I am just coming to grips with the "double pivot" and we start inverting full backs...my lord...(calabria playing as and additional cm when we got the ball?)

I agree that we need to move on. That said, who would you replace him with? (Realistic options only, please.)

Please don't say Conte. The thought is intriguing. He would get us a scudetto for sure. But he will cry at every occasion, ask for investments that RB is unlikely to make, then cry some more, and finally depart in a few years leaving a mess behind. Merda was lucky to replace him with Inzaghi, who has a similar style and was good enough to pick up the pieces and improve on what he had.

EDIT: ... and forget getting anywhere at a European level with Conte.

Fabrizio Salvio, journalist from the Gazzetta dello Sport who interviewed Yacine Adli for SportWeek a few days ago, made some statements to the microphones of Milannews.it to talk about the chat with the French AC Milan midfielder and to also talk about his performance on and off the pitch field.

Did anything about the interview strike you?
"On social media someone wrote that he speaks Italian better than some Italians. He often repeats that he wants to be a normal person, he is not a special person. He is a cultured person who reads a lot, he is a man of faith. I waited a while to interview him because it was Ramadan period and after training he had to pray, so I had to wait a bit before being able to interview him. He is a very sensitive person. What struck me? It's not easy to find someone who, when asked what he likes music, he replies that at this moment he needs calm and therefore I like to hear the noise of nothing and the sound of life. He confirmed the impression I had of him as a person. I like to underline this thing which shows that he is an intelligent person: he said he knows well that he cannot please everyone, but he says that he sees spaces and lines of passages that others do not see. And it is not a presumptuous statement, he is simply aware of his qualities. He is not one steals the eye, someone said it's too slow for Italian football, but in the French championship they run like crazy."
