Isn't not buying a new starting striker got to do with RB being cheap and not giving enough funds for the mercato? How does Maldini help with that?

How is that Moncada's fault? Which mercato in the last few seasons gave multiple new players who made a big positive impact right in their 1st season at Milan?
Answering questions with questions, yay I love this game...

I've pointed out flaws in new management, and I've posted flaws in previous managements tenure... Not sure your point?

Ive not said Maldini helps with a new striker?

Mercato faults are blamed on people, it's what we do... Again I've not called Moncada out, just pointed out, without rose tinted glasses that new management have some failings aw well aw successes...

It's all subjective, Gerry for me ultimately gets what he wanted, which he's allowed too... But sporting wise we're not any better, which is what care about bro.

That's not difficult to understand or see... Fair play to the greedy twat, but I want to see Milan moving forward and long-term security and stability.

Current it's a lot of it's and buts and it'll happen soons...

I understand that, but again, having our own stadium means boosting our yearly revenues by ~100M - just like that. Imagine what we could do each mercato with 100M more to spend. It's like a cheat code, really. One we need if we really want to get back to good old times and competing with the likes of City & Co (not financially, not as long we're not state owned too).

Otherwise we'll always run in circles here discussing whether we needed to sell the likes of Tonali to fund a substantional mercato or not while improving our squad only very very gradually.

Team going sideways or backwards on the pitch, but stadium agreed and he makes a profit... Successful for who...

AC Milan with their own stadium will be successful for a decade while the competition catch up.

Also, we all agree this current squad is the best in the new era. We all know what the problem is. They will make that change in the summer, almost certainly while also finally pulling the trigger on the CF upgrade.

We’ll get there.

Now it's official. After a few weeks of negotiations, Paris Saint Germain has a new minority shareholder. This was announced by the same French company which thus welcomes Arctos Partners, which also holds a minority stake in Atalanta, a Serie A club controlled by a consortium headed by the American Stephen Pagliuca and of which the Percassi family is still shareholder with 45%.

According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, the private equity company has acquired 12.5% of the club in the hands of Qatar Sports Investments for a valuation of 531.25 million euros, which thus brings the overall valuation of the club to 4.25 billion.

That's all a 2028 positive, to look forward too... The team, despite an overhaul and major upheaval, has gone sideways at best.

I support the club and understand the need for better finances and added revenue... But I want to see a few trophies as well.

That's not a big ask bro ✌️

My point is what big positive difference would Maldini being here make to the sporting management side? I mean if the current sporing management is doing a good job with team building given their limited resources and Maldini wouldn't necessarily do a better job in that area, then how does he help?

Note, I just mentioned sporting management, not the team leader / motivator side role of Maldini, that it seems Zlatan will come to do.

I'm just trying to understand your point of view of why Maldini is better for the sporting management side as the technical director over Moncada?

And if Pioli doesn't perform this year, he will likely be replaced at the end of the season, I don't think Moncada / Furlani have any lifelong commitment to Pioli.

We are now also paying for some leverage we used during our rise like signing old players, the money we need to invest to replace that will not necessarily yield much of a sporting gain, but it is a change that is needed to ascend. Sidewards sporting development is ok if the substance improves.

Last years squad was the weakest of the recent past, otherwise there isn't too much between them imo.

Who cares if Gerry goes bankrupt. We’re doing well financially, and if he loses Milan we’ll be fine and get a new owner. We won’t suffer one bit.

Also, we spent a lot last summer. We’re not underspending on the market relative to the competition. Unless you’re asking for us to break the financial restraints that are now making us an enticing target for new owners?
I think people here still don't comprehend Gerry runs Red Bird & it's not his personal wealth that he's running the club with.

Reported trips and meeting with Middle East investors & opening of a Milan HQ in Dubai. Something is brewing.

20-21 was stronger in my view, despite not winning the league. Kjaer, Rebic, Kessie were all phenomenal.
Some key elements were excellent but overall the squad was nowhere near as good. The injuries this season are crazy and hiding the fact that we massively improved squad depth. As a squad, this is clearly the best of the new era.

I just feel there are too many folk with rose tinted glasses on regards new management, when the jury is still out surely?

Folk claiming their doing great 5 months in when we're in a weird place, is premature for me.

We can bash Maldini, but folk have way to quickly forgot that we owe him a thanks for his input in getting us back in the hunt for trophies.

We honestly don't know what would be going on with Milan if Maldini was here... We might have Aurnotovic and Berardi and Pirlo on the bench, depending on what you believe.

What is FACT is we simply don't know lol.

I've not said Maldini is better than Moncada, both have failures to their names bro... Management chose to throw Maldini under the bus to move themselves forward, and for me it was a baldy but flawed move. That's yet to bare fruits...

But that's me ✌️

It's a pyramid scheme lol... He's just moving people's money around to try make more money.

Pretty sure he can walk away pretty clear of it fucks up?

If he gets the stadium done and fucks off, isn’t that a successful era? Short and extremely effective.
Its good for us in the long run but as Deep Fried says just after - the spell mainly benefitted the one person.

The hope was that he was ushering in a synergistic era where the club flourished financially through opening up new business and untapped revenue and the team vaulted forward as well.
Now if it was as Milanator and others (Wild comes to mind) have kind of described where we can sell on some and the players coming in cheaper can cause us to continue progressing, then that is a rosier picture.

Because of the fall off and the threat of selling more key players the outlook sporting wise seems like it could be more stagnant or going in the wrong direction.
Now if a new coach can reverse that and make gold out of lead the same way Pioli seemingly did during his record setting trend, the view of things changes again.

So wait and see

On paper we should be leading Seria A no doubt!!!

Injuries and second half failings are crippling us.

27 year old with first good season
Yeah I see it as an opportunity that's not ideally what we need... It's a high risk or high reward...

Could be a Chuk or a Pulisic...

I'm now holding out a little hope for Jovic dare I say it lol... Let's see how he does next few games.

I might even start him the next couple Serie A games and rest Giroud for Newcastle.

It will take several years before we can make the next real jump to a higher tier of clubs, we are still consolidating the improvement to a regular big 4 league CL club. I mean the air gets thinner and thinner the higher you get, things need their time.
I would just like to be better than / comparable to Inter on the field and not look helpless in CL

There is a tier under the uber rich where Milan should be moving into now

I don't bash Maldini. I think overall he did a good job. And now it seems that Moncada can also do a good job.

And if 5 months is premature then how do you know if current sporting management is better or worse than the Maldini led one? It would make sense to wait 2 years of the new management and then compare them

I mean Maldini took over from Leonardo under whom Milan finished 5th. Then under Maldini, Milan finished 6th, 2nd, 1st, and then 5th, which gives an average Serie A position of 3.5. Current Milan position is 3rd, so very similar. And as you said, it's too early to say for sure if the current sporting. management is going to do better or worse than Maldini did.

So whether it was a "flawed move" to replace Maldini that has "yet to bear fruit", then as you said it's too early to know that!

RedBird aren't saying enough about where they see Milan, realistically.

They're saying a lot that some folk will eat up, without saying anything at all really.

While operating in the shadows is great sometimes, Maldini sprung more than a few surprises on us haha...

I don't feel Gerry hold Milan in any regards, what was it he said about the CL lol... Pretty laughable attitude towards our history.

I want to see a competitive Milan on the field and a stable club regarding finances.

Sam will testify that RedBird have been very vocal about what they can and will do, their processes and why we should drink the coolaid... As I've said, they juries still out.

"I'd love to be wrong" lol... But I just don't trust Gerry!!!

True, but it wasn't Elliott or RedBird who hold us back from getting that stadium as nearly as done by now ;) We all underestimated how hard the politicians and citizens of Milan would fight against progress. It's a shame that we already threw half a decade of time and several millions into the bin with nothing to show for it. In that regard, the city of Milan has probably done more than anyone else to hold back our development.

Well, Gerry gave a very balsy interview where he said he wants to be Berlusconi 2.0 and achieve similar success but with different methods.

What more do you want him to say about what he intends to achieve with Milan?

Whatever Red Bird's intentions are, any financial success they hope to attain is tied directly to Milan's on-field success. I'm sure they realize that.
