"Pochettino? He knows a lot about my background, he knows about my academy days at Valencia and Arsenal. That’s why I played wide, I used to play in that position.”

“It’s nice to have a coach that knows a lot about me, and that has a lot of faith in me. I’m just really grateful.”
didn’t our clueless moron play him wide last season and got roasted for that?

Leonardo about the American funds investing in Italy:

“However, these funds often lack high-level management, there are no adequate directors.

“It is difficult to work if you do not know the context of the city, the tradition and history of the club you are in, it becomes difficult to build a project for the team”

this is exactly the state we’re in right now. American owners just thinking about money, but not realizing that taking over a club that’s over 100 years old is going to come with some baggage, traditions, fans, expectations etc.

It's funny how our players look world class for their country but look average for us

For 4-2-3-1 to be balance, we need pure AM, like Hakan, Koopmeiner, or de Bruyne.

don't play striker or winger as AM, or midfielders who can't pass like RLC.

The closest player we have for AM spot is actually Reijnder.

Quite common actually. Many players have looked better for their national team than club. We’re not making history here. It depends on a variety of factors: overall quality of football, position, quality of opposition etc.

We also have players who look decent for both (Reijnders, Mike, Pulisic). Also, Theo has blackouts during every season.

So, who or what are we talking about here? Leao’s run? Musah’s first international goal?

For Musah, I really wonder where he can play for us. In Fonseca’s system he is to be the Fofana sub, and that’s going to take a lot of work.

I actually really enjoyed this international break so far

Because I didn’t watch any football and watched tennis instead.

Better sport to watch in 2024 💀
The sad thing is I’m not even missing Milan play or particularly looking forward to the resumption of the season

Really can’t think of anything exciting about this team

Totally agree.
If Leao had this kind of run in Milan, and few lost balls earlier in the game, we woule criticize him. When he does the same for NT, he gets praises.
If Musah plays invisible game for club and then scores a goal, it isnt the same if he does that at NT.
Grass is greener kind of thing

Yep

I only watched the Italy Belgium game, so I can’t judge all of our players’ performances, but I’d hazard a guess most people praising Leao for Portugal saw the twitter highlight reel.

Yup I have zero excitement for Milan this season

Moncada, Furlani, Ibra and Gerry ruined that all for me.

Unfortunately it is more and more hard to give a fuck...

At least during the banter era I was pissed off and annoyed, disappointed and frustrated... Currently I'm numb and filled with a sense of meh.

I bought some plants and a stool today, it was nice. They've not disappointed me yet.

My issue is I care too much.

I have tried weaning myself off a bit, but it’s hard.

Not numb though. Banter era I was miserably calm. The fact we have expectations means there must have been something to set up those expectations. This is where the banter era people perplex me…we are a CL-qualifying squad now and win more than we lose domestically (on a weekly basis). Yeah, this is infinitely preferable to 2014-20, where every week felt like agony. Management limitations and blunders currently notwithstanding.

While this is preferable era in our history compared to the banter era, I have little excitement going into watching this current iteration of "Milan".

I really hope the team and manager can start clicking on a regular basis. I feel we'll stumble to some victories while being utterly frustrating the following week.

If we don't sort some stuff out, we could be watching some EL games in the new years.

Till then, yay, woo... Go team...
