Roger Federer is the GOAT
The wins against inter and Madrid would have never happened under Stefano Pioli by the way.

I have no doubt in my mind that Fonseca is better.

At least when it comes to tactics.

Pioli is a better man-manager though as of now so we’ll see whether Fonseca can get his stride and motivate the team to do well.

THANK YOU for putting a smile on our faces.

Balls the size of coconuts in dropping big players to get the team moving in the right direction.

Not many Milan managers can say they've gone to the bernabeu and come away with all 3 points

And to do it against that stacked starting XI is no joke.

Forza Fonseca

Yea but we need consistency.

Are we just going to brush the humiliating losses to Liverpool at home, loss to napoli etc?

getting 6 points from the 4 games in pot 1 and 2 is better than i expected.. now we got relatively easier games where we probably will drop points in one of the remaining games (prolly zagreb). i hope we can get 3 more wins to get 15 points total which should guarantee us a top 12 spot I reckon

I know I'm being greedy but we need to win the 4 games and cracking top 8. Playing an extra 2 games in Feb with our squad is not good. Injuries and suspensions will only give us another napoli result.

This was the most rewarding win in many years, sweeter because most of us thought we would lose big but we totally dominated the defending UCL champions.
Everyone played well, Deers close to world class, Morata tireless worker, Leao back in form, but I was especially impressed by Musah who was instrumental in helping our right side take Vini out of the game and you can see the ugly mofo frustration in his face. At times Musah takes some risky dribbles in dangerous zones and his passing needs improving but he can run all game and is very helpful defensively. Hope Fonseca continues with this 4-3-3 formation and that the players play with same intensity against all teams and not just the top ones.
Kudos to Thiaw as well who looks to have regained the form of his first season.
No more Leao benching and no more RLC starting, and we can make some noise in Serie A.
Reijnders was absolutely world class. The way he dribbles past players is amazing

He has improved now in front of goal and is a complete midfielder

I need more midfielders in winter. When in doubt buy very good midfielders.

I know pavlovic has been insanely bad after 2 games and we don’t finish our chances. Still fuck that get me midfielders

Deers and fofana always have to ppaly but more well rounded midfielders are essential
Replacing RLC and Calabria with a DM and a RB should be the priority for the January mercato

Yeah, i'm not sure where 433 came from. It was clearly 541/343.

I'm not sure I can go back to watching shackled Theo. Having him be free as a wingback was really something...

Some "fans" need their egos stroked 😂

Fonseca has two huge scalps so far this season and it's still early in the league, exciting developments are happening with multiple players, we're changing tactically and now Thiaw just had a huge boost of confidence.

Let's not sack Fonseca.
And both big scalps didn’t happen by fluke. Clear and precise game plan with good execution.

Fonseca clearly understands football, I hope this win helps to get the fan base and players behind him.

Beating inter and Real Madrid “away” is no joke

yes, we are

or do you think this team is that good? what do you expect? to keep it close against every top team? there will bad losses of course lol

btw liverpool humiliated leverkusen yesterday too, they're probably the most in-form team in europe right now

I don't know, I thought we did phenomenally well with the ball last night. Real's press was as bad as ours, and that made a difference, but we managed to really cut through them and control the game for significant portions. That's important. The big difference is that once we lost it we quickly dropped back into a compact mid block shape. We didn't get super stretched trying to press them high up.

I don't see why we can't do that against even the weakest Serie A team. Treat them also with the same respect. Try to dominate the game, but once we lose and lose the initial counterpress, we should instantly revert back to a compact midblock shape and squeeze the space.

It's the off ball compactness that made the difference for us.
We were no further apart than 15-20m from front to back for many stretches. Pretty cool to see after how open and stretched we were under Pioli.

Isn’t this what we asked for?

That third midfielder can move wider?

Not disputing that it wasn't a 343 or even a 5 at the back but it moved around a bit
Of course a midfielder can drift outside, but calling him a midfielder implies that he is, in fact, in the middle of the field. He was defending on the last line of defense and attacking as a wingback.

It’s semantics since every tactic is a numbers-game, no team is static and locked in a single position anymore. I just don’t understand how someone who watched the game could have seen him as a midfielder..

Fonseca is doing OK. the beginning was up and down, he gets a pass as it was the beginning.
The napoli loss we got screwed, best players missing.
A couple of other disappointing losses (Fiorentina, Liverpool).

I have still faith in dude and want him to succeed. We need a good run of wins thus month to climb the table

I believe the Tonali vs Reijnders debate is over.

I like Tonali a lot and always will. But, even when he was here, granted he is still young and has potential, he was not in the same "elite" class as our big 3 back then, 3 being Mike, Leao and Theo. I do not think his ceiling is that high like Tijji. Reijnders belongs to the levels of Mike, Leao, Theo. Still early but I am sure he will slowly slot in there. Best midfield acquisition since Kaka.

Any football lover can see the talent (and even elegance) that Reijnders brought last year but this season he is taking it to the next level. The scary part is, he is still evolving.

With this new format of ucl running into Jan. I expect the window to have a lot more activity.

We definitely need .ore midfielders. Even just as cover.

Ideally RLC should be shipped out.

Also we can sign other players from ucl so they won't be cup tied.

I don’t think cup tied is a thing anymore

RLC, Calabria. Origi, FBT, Jovic all need to move on. This should free up a good bit of funds

Yup that's what I mean. So we got a good pool to choose from in ucl alone.

That origi transfer still killing us ffs. If we can get 30-40M for that lot then it's a job we'll done.

You aren't the brightest one are you?
Does Pioli's CL win over Napoli keep you warm over an otherwise atrocious season?

Kind reminder - we are mid table in Serie A and mid table in CL. :proud:
you're thinking this management will hire klopp as an alternative to fonesca?

random wins is all we can hope for during redturd era

Pioli stuck in the scudetto system 3 years after, fonesca changed 3 formations in 4 months, 2 of them won us huge matches.
not his fault his players are revolting against him and management rather use him as a scapegoat, actually he wins despite those hindrances and humbles the rapper

Honestly sheva don't waste your time on these guys. All they do is moan rather than appreciate the wins we get.
