Fonseca deserve to finish this season after derby win and madrid away. We won't qualify for ucl next year anyway so i rather finish 9-10th than playing EL or conference since coefficient doesnt matter anymore

After experience a decade of banter football, one shit season is nothing significant

Dude we heard that like 5 times already this season.

He's not making Top 4. Inter, Napoli, Juve and Atalanta all look much better.

So it's impossible to close a gap of 8 points in 26 games ?

Its impossible.
We have cl, coppa, supercopa. We ll be tired which ll affect seria a games. Wendont have depth. Players re not properly used.

Also team doesn seem motivated at all.
Theres no play under moron Fonseca. Changing cbs every game. We have striker who wont scored more than 8 fkin goals.

Forget scudetto. I doubt even top 4.

We have a legit chance for CL if Italy somehow gets 5 clubs in it again, which tbh could happen.

But top 4 seems impossible at the moment.

Paulo Fonseca has certainly had a rocky start to life as the new head coach of AC Milan, with just five wins in his first 12 league games in charge.

As MilanNews report, is the second time since 2004-05 (the first year in which Serie A had 20 teams) that Milan have collected 19 points in the first 12 games. So far the Rossoneri have five victories, four draws and three defeats: a start that has effectively removed Milan from the Scudetto picture.

In the 2017-18 season, Vincenzo Montella’s side had six wins, one draw and five defeats. They were seventh with 19 points after 12 games, nine points from fourth place (Lazio) and 13 from the top of the table (Napoli). At the end of the year, Gennaro Gattuso would lead the team to sixth place.

In 2006-07, the post-Calciopoli year, Carlo Ancelotti’s Milan had four victories, four draws and four defeats, while an eight-point penalty had them 11 points away from fourth-placed Livorno. Milan would win the Champions League and finish in fourth place.

Even in the following season, still with Ancelotti in charge, Milan got just 14 points in the first 12 games, the result of three wins, five draws and three defeats. At the end of the year the Rossoneri finished in fifth place, entering the Europa League.

In the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons, Max Allegri’s team started badly with 14 and 13 points respectively. If at the end of the 2012-13 season the Diavolo finished in third place, the following year they finished seventh after Allegri’s sacking.

Pippo Inzaghi’s season (2014-15) saw Milan on 18 points after 12 games which was good enough for seventh place. The end result was a 10th-placed finish. After 12 games in 2019-20, the Rossoneri had 13 points after the sacking of Marco Giampaolo and the hiring of Stefano Pioli. They would end sixth.

The late Sinisa Mihajlovic had 20 points in the first 12 games, while Gennaro Gattuso obtained one more in 2018-19. A coach is judged above all on results, and that is why Fonseca cannot be satisfied at the moment.

Thank you for sharing this post. I've seen us struggle many times before and still make ucl.

Just couldn't be bothered looking into it this deep... especially going back to an era when we had what some consider to be a "prime" Milan team lead by the "goat" manager

What's the point of going to the CL if we are not going to compete for the trophy? We are in the CL now and I don't even care who we play against anymore. Money? Yeah great, make more money and then waste it on stupid things. We are AC Milan we should be competing for trophies. Competing for the Scudetto should be the minimum requirement by now.

Fiorentina under Palladino and with Adli in midfield is now 9 points ahead of us having won seven consecutive games, though we have a game in hand vs Bologna that's not a guaranteed win.
Palladino was coaching Monza Primavera when Galliani promoted him to first team after firing former Milan player Stroppa. After over-achieving at Monza where he had signed for only the rest of he season Fiorentina selected him to replace Italiano who moved to Bologna. They're now in first place, tied with Inter and Atalanta with Napoli playing later vs Roma.

Palladino has been brilliant at Fiorentina and has moved away from 3 at the back when he realized his players were better suited to play with 4. A huge gamble for Commisso's team that so far has paid off handsomely.
They also had a fantastic mercato with mostly loans that includes De Gea, Kean, Gudmusson, Adli, Goosens, Bove, Colpani, and Cataldi with little or no money spent.
Didn't renew Bonaventura, benched long time captain Biraghi, sold Amrabat, Milinkovic, and Nico Gonzales so they actually made a profit compared to our lame mercato.

After a tough start with 3 draws vs Parma, Venezia, and Monza, he changed formation and was able to quickly adapt the newcomers to their new club so that now they run like a well oiled machine as opposed to Fonseca who still strugging to find the right formula to play.
I don't think Milan would have taken a chance on someone so young even though he's Italian and not expensive, maybe they should have asked Galliani for advice. Our players are spoiled so don't know if he would have worked out for us but watching his team play I'm a big fan of his.

Look at the positive, these players they loaned out are flourishing elsewhere so at least Milan will make money on them

So Fonsy still our coach? We are impressive ngl..we upgraded from being comfortable in 2nd last season to being 8th this season.

#DaPlan
This was exactly what I expected. I asked in the past how patient we should be with Fonseca. He has a tough act to follow seeing that we had achieved UCL regularly under Pioli. The results against Inter and Madrid were good but I still don't think his style is suitable for Serie A. It doesn't suit the squad or the league. It suits European competition but serie a coaches feast on his style. There's a reason why foreign coaches struggle in Italy.

How standards have slipped.

Bro, are you not pissed, do you not demand more from a club with history and s board set to "redesign the game"?

Fuck this throwing in the towel and marking another season down as a "rebuilding" one.

Fucking hell...

I understand acceptance maybe works for some, but to me it's just being complicit.

Not having a go, but one shit season?

We've stumbled through 3/4 seasons no, whole gaining CL qualification for sure... But we're not a well run club with a well designed team.

We're seeing a pattern of under performance and repeatedly missing opportunities to win titles.

Banter was then, we don't have to slip back into that era!!!

In the last few weeks there has been a club that has shown interest in Cristhian Mosquera (Valencia defender) and this club is Milan: the Rossoneri are sounding out the waters in view of a possible transfer for June
@MatteMoretto

Luka Jović is out of Milan's plans and will probably leave Milan in January: there are Turkish, Arab, Emirati and Italian clubs interested in him

They will on Adli but the way he's playing he will be worth much more than what we'll get.
I think Kean and Colpani were bought outright and Kean is playing the best football of his life.

It's not the impossibility of doing so, it's the fact that other teams we're competing with, Juve, Atalanta, Inter and Napoli continue to improve. They continue to get better. This is opposite than this team. They're regressing with almost every single game.

And yet Fonseca said he still believe in winning the scudetto. Besides being inept he's also delusional.

He's been asked after the game if he still believes in the Scudetto. What should he have said? "Nah, it's over"? Even if he had said something like "it's difficult right now, we need to take it game by game" people would find a way to give it a negative/depressed/delusional spin.

That's the kind of "clever" but "uncomfortable" question italian wanna-be quality journalists ask because there's no good answer to it at such a delicate moment like ours and they know it.

I'm not trying to defend Fonseca (to hell with him, I had enough patience). But I know wanna-be quality journalists when I see them too.

Well hear it for a 6th time. Now till March is the real time to judge him.

If carlo who some believe is goat tier could only mister 4 win with the likes of p3, seedorf Kaka etc then how are people being Hyper critical of fonseca who has to work with bums like leao

And Inter had to play ibrahimovic and Adriano not some bum like Thuram.

6 Team title race and Fonseca can't get last years 2nd placed team in the race? Still don't understand why only AC Milans manager out of all the teams in the world needs to be judged from now until March to create some sort of consistent cohesion within the squad.

Juve played for the draw because had no striker and other injured players but as bad as they were haven't lost a match yet, and are six points ahead of us who have a game in hand but still doing better than we are.

Palladino did so well at Monza , I remember two or three seasons ago Monza defeated us, Inter and Juve and they always played good football.

Redbird won’t lead us to glory. I hope I’m wrong. I miss elliott. I miss gazidis. Cardinale is a con artist.
The stadium in San Donato is supposed to get approved by this upcoming spring right? I thought I read the plan is to start building by late summer/early fall of 2025. You also have the Elliott loan that comes due this upcoming August. My guess is Red Bird have some of agreement with some Middle East investors to join the club and they will help repay the loan. They are just waiting on the new stadium to be approved. Red Bird aren't going to fork up another 600-700m for the loan and 1B for a new stadium all on their own.

Not finishing top 4 and missing the CL is probably a big dent in Red Bird's plans as well.
