I really, REALLY, do not like the Walker deal.
Age:
The guy will be 35 years in May, bought to play in a position where pace is paramount.
Character/Leadership:
Link: Footballer Kyle Walker sorry for hosting party ‘with two sex workers’ while urging fans to stay at home during coronavirus lockdown
Link: (October 2024) Kyle Walker’s wife Annie Kilner files for divorce after Lauryn Goodman scandal
Is this the kind of leadership that we need to inject into the locker room to motivate guys like Theo?
Player:
I'm not going to pretend to have watched every City game this season but his whole shtick is pace, to be able to outrun his opponent. Serie A is no longer using slow 30 years old as FB. He won't be able to outpace everyone, especially if he is going to be playing every 90 minutes as would be expected from our starting RB.
You saw the City with/without Walker stats, 65% win rate without and only 18% with.
1.9 goals conceded per game with, 1.1 without.
The only thing impressive about him is his injury stats, missing very few games during his whole career. However, can he maintain this injury record at Milan?
I fear that we will be cursing this deal as much as...ok maybe not as much as Chuck because that is just FUBAR.
I really am trying to be positive about this deal but I truly fear that we are digging ourselves out of one hole (if we actually manage to sell Emerson), only to fall into a new one with this deal.
