Totally disagree. To be disappointed in the mercato just means we the fans truly believe Elliot could have done more for Pioli, Maldini and the team. They could have and should have rewarded a winning team. It doesn't mean "we're angry we won the wrong way". WTF is that, lol? We can agree to disagree but you need to stop putting words in people's mouths.

This is a boring debate and this is all I'll say about this. Let people speak their minds. Stop telling people how they should think and what they should say.

Most here found the 50m transfer budget rumors hilarious at the beginning of the transfer window. Then it all became true.

Primavera play sensible - I am pleased even though Salzburg scored.

Chaka - hit and miss but he did have a really good run and low cross.
He slows down the game to use his dribble which is fine but he isnt quick and fast enough to kill defenders, they usually can get back in the play to tackle or at least bother him.
Not sure if that changes as senior players may not be all quick even though they are bigger and faster over greater distance. Physically he doesnt stand out.
I wish he would play faster and force the opponent's momentum to be against them than mostly stopping and then trying to beat them flatfooted. He picks up positions well though

Cuenca has a good size and decent speed but I didnt see enough to have any idea about his game; he was cramping up and came off early and seemed upset about that which is good.

Coubis looks like he is going to be an intimidating one as he plays to his size and his mentality is that befitting of his stature.

Really night and day how they played today from the last time I saw them with Hauge Daniel etc - the quick passing, sensible long passing and organized defensive posture.
Refreshing

Out of the attacking players Cuenca looks the best. He's fast and tall with good dribbling. Plus he's only 17 so even more room to get better! Maybe he can eventually become the RW for Milan!!

Chaka is not that fast and a bit short. He needs to improve.

Coubis is a giant!!

Btw why is Lazetic not playing with Primavera?

I think he is much better centrally than on the wing, but 100% dude is an absolute stud. Incredible ball control, very press resistant, and tons of upside. Has an electric personality that I think would fit well with the squad too. Would be a phenomenal signing, I think he has legit WC potential.
In the international games, when pulisic would actually stay wide and leave him with space he would charge forward and blow past the opposition, very strong on the ball and tenacious too. I like him centrally as well, but more in a 3 man midfield role

Calhanoglu spoke at the press conference on the eve of Inter’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich and he was asked for his reaction to the loss against the Rossoneri.

“The derby is over, I don’t want to talk about it anymore because it bothers me. It’s painful, I know, but it’s over,” he said (via MilanNews).
We are in their heads now. Fuck them

I wish we got Aaronson for our RW. He's the only American player I like for our style of play. Musah is good, but doesn't fit what we do, Aaronson would have been a great fit.

Agreed, I like musah but he doesn’t fit our system as we currently play. I was pumped when linked to aaronson a ways back. He goes hard all game long and would definitely be able to press. Isn’t he more traditionally central though or to the left?

I could be wrong, going off memory no research

Someone needs to start a grassroots football program and tell more kids to become right wingers. Literally no one plays on the right anymore

Liverpool were so lucky with Salah

He's been played as a RW for Leeds and a few times before, the fact he could play CAM and RW was why I wanted him, as he seemed to fit our "versatility" requirement, lol.

Bowen, Raphinha, Antony, Kulusevski, Saka. There's quite a few good RW's out there that haven't reached WC status but have high potential.

Problem is price is already getting high even in lower level leagues. He went to Leeds for 30m+ from Austria - until our revenue improves to 400m+ we prob won’t sign more than one ‘expensive’ player per season. Unearthing hidden gem via scouting has become more important than ever for Milan and Italian sides in general.

Most of these guys are 40m+ though

You would have thought that Moncada has a dozen RW gems in his database but almost every winger we’ve been linked to seems more comfortable on the left. Clearly footedness is a key part of it, but it’s pretty frustrating we haven’t even bought a rough diamond for this role

Don't be surprised if we tonight have more problems than vs Inter. Yes, Salzburg lost some crucial players in last 2-3 years, but they are team that can cause a headache. Bit if they leave a lot of space to Leao, Theo and CdK, we gonna smash them

Not saying that CDK was a bad purchase but imagine if we spent his money on a RW.

That's good to hear, can't watch right now as I'm at work.
I think we need to give Abate some time, he did very well with our other youth team (I think it was U16). The primavera was a total mess lately, so it will take some time to turn it around. Would be great if they could get further in the CL.
I didn't watch the whole game, but it was way better than expected. Salzburg played in the final last season, while our Primavera was garbage. A few months later, we get a point on away ground after missing some big chances. Undoubtedly, there's a progress.

I actually like it when other fans call us by the our whole name AC Milan. It just sounds better than if we were named FC Milan, but it's quite annoying when they just call us by "AC". It's like calling Barcelona by "FC". Then "Milan" is the correct name to call.
FC Milan?

What in the fuck did you just say?

He was expensive, particularly for his quality. I don't think he was worth 30m. Even when our revenues (hopefully) get to where they should be, I don't really like the idea of participating in those sorts of markets. I don't think they're worth it, to be honest.

I'm curious to see how Vranckx and Thiaw do for us--I'm not sure how we can judge our transfer campaign before seeing them, Dest, and others play for us yet.

My thing exactly. If we have two great wings, but no one to link up to them it doesn’t solve much
There’s a few things to point out that gets overlooked her a lot in terms of our right wing situation.

For one, it’s more important to piolis asymmetrical team to have both willing and effective runners on the right side and a lot of offensive quality on the left. Somehow we all recognize this but still don’t talk about it. There is a reason that Milan has three LW in Leao/rebic/origi even who all are better going forward than anything we can field at right wing. It is by design, the pressing system that we employ now is more effective and valuable than any individual player at this club right now. Look at rangnick playing another technically limited player elanga only because he was desperate for runners and people who press, pressing coaches need these players.

Salad runs like hell and is ok until he gets to the final third(generally at least). Messias when signed had some of the most tackles of any attacker in the league, and also great dribbling and running stats. That’s not to say they are great players, far from it, but this is not the banter era. They were signed and they play for a reason, not because they are cheap only.

Another thing is that this management simply values certain position groups more than others. This is very normal in American sports but I’ve noticed football fans think differently. They tend to only look at the starting eleven and key in on “weaknesses.” In nfl, many winning teams will invest more money into their backup offensive linemen while having a weak starting linebacker group, because quite simply the offensive line is more important to your chances of winning. Having a solid rotating group of center mids helped our title run a lot more than having a better starting right winger, got to break it to some of you. That’s how we dominate and control games.

Long post and it’s not to say Milan doesn’t need a better right wing. It’s clear we do. It’s just there’s logic behind why we have this situation. RW will get fixed in due time but we need to realize that for Pioli it’s more important to have depth in midfield and attack, it’s just the way it is.

I agree with you.. I mean I said I felt addressing AM first was more important, no?
