You can clearly see the inexperience of the American owner and his rookie Italian management staff when they set the goals for Pioli.
1) Top 4 in Serie A
2) CL knockout stage
The thing is when they gave the the target of "top 4 Serie A" the motherfucker probably interpreted it as "the 4th place". If we finish at the third place he would probably call it an overachievement lol.
And the problem with finishing at the 4th place is Milan will get drawn into these bullshit "groups of death" as the media usually puts. We finished at the fourth place so that was why Newcastle, PSG and Dortmund happened.
And we did not even finish in top 4 last season. If it was not for Juve we would not even have been in that group.
Maybe use some brain power when setting goals and targets. The hard stuff does not go away on its own, if you avoid it in one place you will have to face it in another setting. Fight hard in Serie A for an easier group in the CL or be lackluster in Italy and then shit the pants trying to qualify for the CL knockout stage because fucking groups of death.
Top 2 Serie A and the CL knockout stage would make so much more sense. And "top 4" does not indicate the 4th place.
Anyways, Rennes is a respectable opponent.
