I'm not the biggest Brahim fan, I'll be honest, and I would love for us to get a veteran CAM on loan, like we had Meite last year, just to finish out the year, but I am not going to pretend that I'm super confident about Kalulu-Gabbia versus Juve and Inter.
Kalulu is super talented, he's got all the tools to be elite. But he's still a kid. He makes positional errors, that will be ironed out with time and experience. Gabbia, for me, is a player that is stronger than I thought, but he's slow, and he's going to need to use his anticipation and positioning to define his defensive output. Where Gabbia does well is his ability with the ball, his background as a CM shows when he's on the ball.
The point is, both of them are actually great prospects, Kalulu the more-ready prospect, but his lack of experience shows. It looks like we'll probably be relying on Kalulu, for sure, against Juve and Inter, but Gabbia is the one who needs more time. If we can grab someone great in the summer, I'd love to put him on a Pobega-like loan to develop, because I think we have a gem in Gabbia.
If Tomori and Romagnoli were both healthy, I'd be less worried. I have more faith in Romagnoli than most here, though.
