No one is denying that the kid's got talent. It's just his physique and height make him too weak to play in a three man midfield as a mezza'la. Plus he definitely wont succeed as an AM as he would just get crowded out and barged off the ball. He has dribbling skills, true. But you need more than just good dribbling skills when you have that kind of a physique, you need to be 'great' at it. Hence why Messi is so successful (He can hold onto the ball and his dribbling is top class).
I am not saying that Giovinco cant succeed at a top club, but he still has a long way to go for that to happen imo. We just cant be taking risk on a player who only has the 'potential' to succeed at a bigger club, we need someone who can guarantee that he can succeed. I wont mind getting Giovinco, but it has to be for a bench role initially....
and I certainly wont mind getting him just for his free kicks, which are top drawer...
