Christian Abbiati performed a stunning save on Robin van Persie to keep Milan in Europe. “We almost managed to throw away a 4-0 lead.”

The Rossoneri were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal, but a fourth would’ve forced extra time in the Champions League Round of 16.

“We almost managed to throw away a 4-0 lead, but fortunately we recovered in the second half after getting the approach totally wrong in the first,” said the goalkeeper.

“We tried to keep the ball, but probably opted not to attack them enough by doing that.

On the second goal, when Thiago Silva cleared the ball, I moved too much to my right and then was late on the shot at the near post. I could’ve done more.
