NOw platini is fucked
NOw platini is fucked
AC Milan News @Milanello
Nesta: "To start a new winning cycle, Milan must find the right people. People like Pirlo and Seedorf who have done so much for Milan."
Anyway for Clarence, his an amazing midfielder, and we actually got to witness his very very best performances for Milan...guess the moment I'll never forget is the 07' game vs Bayern in Munich, that was just pure dominance and class, I actually remember telling my brother earlier before that game "Seedorf is going to shine", when I saw him scoring and assisting, I remember my brother looked back at me with a "he's the man" look on his face. Thank you Clarence, and good luck dominating football at its diplomatic level .
I don't think anyone is stupid enough to deny Seedorf was a GREAT CM for AC Milan. I think at the same time one must be quite silly to think he's contributed anything of value in the last 4-5 years besides his infamous waive as he strolls off the pitch.
Pirlo was not finished but was un-motivated. Seedorf has been just SHIT for years now. He made it tough for fans to cry when he left, the way Nesta has.
Dorf was always a BGP. He has the composure to let things work out which is needed when the nerves are jangling.
Did you see the handshake between Dorf & RVP at the start of 1st leg this year? I was sure we will win the match as soon as I saw that.
Yeah he didn't do much in the match. But right from the Handshake, Arsenal were made to feel like schoolboys out of their playground. The pitch didn't have as much to do with the result as the mental state.
He doesn't like to be benched. So doesn't Inzaghi. Rino keeps saying he feels like a 25 year old and wants to feel important. If he hadn't got the arrogance, he might not have become the great CM. It would have been great if he had been a combination of the 2. But that doesn't stop him from getting the respects of the fans. People on this forum (and possibly elsewhere) seem to attribute his slow movement to lack of motivation which might not have been the case had we been winning more matches. Eventually, he isn't a one man show and needs the team to do their bit.
It is a shame that the team wasn't properly rejuvenated. We wouldn't have been having this discussion if Seedorf just was as much a bitch & slow mover had we been winning CLs (with Dorf as a part of a more dynamic midfield)
However, Dorf has to be man enough to admit that he signed up for this dissing when he renewed his contract with a project that was not likely to win CLs.
Let's assume he's running as much and fast as he can. He's Slow. Along with Gattuso, Aquilani, Van Bommel, Ambrosini, there's no dynamic movement. There's VERY little creativity. Seedorf is not the player he was 5 years ago, period. Combined with an old and slow midfield and Prince being injured all of the time, it was ugly. It doesn't change the fact that he should retire. He's 36 years old.
I totally do not resonate with the way you view football or any other work. This is not a military drill that's happening here. This is a game that you should enjoy when you play, thereby transmitting that enjoyment to your fans. That doesnt mean you can laze around, but that also doesnt mean 100% effort is the be all and end all. I would naturally like to see players give their all on the field, but if they occasionally don't, I completely understand as they are human beings.
Motivations are key for human beings, and if Seedorf gets motivated only by the Champions League music, so be it. I would love watching him in those matches. He has been key to at least the 07 CL if not the 03 CL.
And this is a man who has won 4 Champions League trophies with 3 different teams. The top 4 teams in EPL put together does not have that kinda numbers.
What I'm saying is - 100% effort is great, but not a dealbreaker for me. If you entertain me while playing for my favourite club, and if you help the club in winning trophies, you are a legend in my eye.
And of course, one can be purely aesthetic as well. A Pirlo playing at 50% is still a far better treat to watch than a Van Bommel or a Nocerino or a Muntari playing at 100%. But that's a different discussion.
You also have to look from a economical standpoint. Milan is a club with a yearly deficit of almost 70mil. Not to mention the FFP is coming and we have to sort it out not just for the sake of able to buy better players. So milan right now simply cant afford to keep a player who doesnt perform even remotely of what is expected from someone who earns such high numbers, in the last few years i imagine his presence at the club was nothing but a financial loss. From a economic standpoint he truly made no sense whatsoever.
If he wasnt motivated and he clearly wasnt he should have drastically lowered his wages yet IIRC he earned, what, 5 mil not just a year ago.
Also if he isnt motivated then why get pissed when allegri took him off, didnt play him?
Not particularely fair to the coach or the club. He should have adjusted his salary based upon just how much will he still has to perform(obviously again thats also where galliani comes into play:-/).
He is motivated when its time to moan and make scene after being subbed, ill give him that.
hes 36 fucking years old ... Only in meelan we have this kind of charity time for him to leave or fans will soon jeer him fuck off ! Like couple of his recent matches
I'll never understand the constant defense of Seedorf. never.
That's because you are not a true Milan fan.
When he finally leaves, I can start to really enjoy Milan.
yes the season of nocerino, mvb, muntari was the champagne football i was craving that clarence denied
tbh, the funniest things about those vids is how long he stays in the game...despite how bad he is
Best post in this forum ever... I don't understand why it's not quoted on every page in this thread.
It can't be without reason though. No one else got booed almost every home game like Seedorf did. Clearly, there is something your doing wrong on the field when fans boo as consistently as they did and I don't think it racial cause there are other black players on the team throughout the years but only Seedorf suffers the wrath of the fans.
