10. Milan vs Fiorentina 6-0. Season 04-05. 12-12-04
Seedorf (15’, 81’), Crespo (22’, 60’), Sheva (51’, 72’)

We didn’t start the season in a convincing way. Granted that Fiorentina was really shit back then but this was probably the best performance we had (game + result wise) till that moment and we played a really good game. Gotta admit I didn’t remember the goals too well (except for Seedorf ’s), and Crespo’s first goal is a total own goal, he had a great game, he gave lots of assists and winning the pk, but that’s an own goal (I don’t care what the rules say).
9. Lazio vs Milan 4-4, Season 1999-2000. October 3 1999
Veron (18’), 34’ Mihajlovic (own goal 34’), 36’ Abbiati (own goal 36’), Salas (38’, 72’), Shevchenko (43’, 63’ PK, 68’).

Great game for both teams, just great. Sheva had already shown his worth, but after that game, well we all knew he was destined to be one of Milan’s best players. Zaccheroni didn’t play his 2 men (Bierhoff and Helveg). Serginho also playing his first games at Milan helping us in getting the first goal. We were 3-1 down, and then 3-4 up. Pity that our defense was pretty bad, but the game was super exciting by both teams, and Abbiatti saved our asses (inspite of the own goal)
8. Bologna vs Milan 2-3, Season 1998-1999, January 25 1999.
Signori (15', 43’), Guglielminpietro (21') , Morfeo (53') , N' Gotty (90’).

Ok, so Abbiatti was playing his first game as a starter (from 3rd kepper with little hope to play to starter in just a matter of months), after Rossi’s stupidness. Guly also started getting more “love” by Zaccheroni. We debuted a 16 year old, Mohamed Aliyu (who was going to be the next big thing, the next Weah…he is still just 25, and if we gave a chance to Borriello, why can’t we bring this one back
, at least we can pass him as a youth system element) who entered instead of Leonardo. Bologna was dominating us through the first half, Giusseppe Signori giving us a football lesson. Their lead for HT was deserved. In the first minutes of the second half, Bologna could have made the lead bigger, had they not messed up in front of the goal. But they didn’t. We started bouncing back till we were able to draw them and then thanks to a beauty of a FK done by N’Gotty we won the game in the last minute!!! (we got a lot of points in the last minutes of several games in that season).

Delvecchio (9'), Leonardo (48', first half); Ziege (59'), Delvecchio (70'), Weah (72')
The first time I was able to understand what it was to suffer and wait till the end as a Milan fan. Paulo Sergio, Di Francesco and Marco Delvecchio were toying with us, Roma hit the post repeatly, Totti missed a penalty, they could have draw the game in the last minutes. Boban gets send off (as well as Daniele Conti for Roma, yeah, the son of Bruno). Our defense was a complete mess, and to top it off, Maldini got his nose broken. But things went in our way…Ziege had a decent game and scored (!!), with the help of his hand. And Weah after several months without a single goal returned with a wonderful header.

The start of the seven wins. We started 1-0 down, the first half wasn’t played well, Parma dominated, and Balbo scored a goal with little angle. But we got back on track, mostly by putting lots of heart out there. It started with a freekick made by Federico Giunti, who just set the ball to Maldini, who took an splendid shot. Just some minutes later, Maldini saved us after there was some chaos in our area. Finally Ganz scored a great goal (thanks to an assist by Boban) running against Cannavaro. Little but valuable minutes by Ganz. Roma gave us a helping had, beating Lazio (I think 3-1).

Magic by King George, 2 goals vs Juventus. We made the game so easy. Seriously this was the easiest Milan vs Juventus game I have ever seen, inspite of the fact that we have beat them 3-1 twice not too long ago. But it was just so simple, no complications, we didn’t do much, but neither did they (except for an Inzaghi shot, that Abbiatti saved). First half 0-0. In the second half we had a Weah and Boban show.

At that moment we were fighting for a direct spot to the CL, the results Juventus eventually made us enter the fight for the scudetto. It was played in a Good Friday, so the enviroment seemed more calm than usual. Not the best game ever, and probably all the games I listed before were better, but there’s just something about this game that I really really appreaciate. It was intense (Inter was handling the first minutes), but mostly Milan played as a team (not Sheva who had an off day, but the rest of the team did), while Inter, well they were so in pieces. Maybe it’s the fact that that’s the last time we were superior to them. Whatever, it’s top 4.
3. Milan vs Sampdoria, 3-2, Season 1998-1999 May 2nd, 1999

ESPN showed Lazio’s game. They won like 3-0 or something big like that, last report on Milan was 2-1 in our favour. Before going to a commercial brake, they showed the scores and it said 2-2 in our game. So I shut the TV down, cause the game was already ending. No worth watching anymore. Heartbroken, we lost the chance for the scudetto. Several hours later, I put the Domenica Sportiva on…and I went crazy, I couldn’t believe it. Ganz again being decesive. I have never watch this game, but the effect of hearing about that goal in the 90th minute...it deserves to be here. Watch the minutes of the goals, just by that I get chills. There was just so much heart in that Milan.

The Pirlo fk that Pippo deviates, such a classic
. Kaka had already shown some good moves, but this game, well you know there’s always that game that defines a star player, for me this was it. Gattuso putting a cross. Sheva making a great move in the 3rd goal Beating Inter is always good. Obafemi celebrating his goal like a victory goal (though it was the best of the night) is one of the classics. We dominated the game, and played great football, specially because, if you remember, this one was after the game against Celta Vigo which was a horrible performance.

“Seedorf only plays 5 good games a year, all of them big games”. Well, back then so true. If there was a moment to kill the old lady in their home it was that moment, and we did it perfectly. A Sheva header that put us up. 2 Seedorf’s strikes (one deviated). And Ciro Ferrara getting one in the net…it would have been better 3-0, but well. We we’re playing the best football in Europe in that moment, not many have the chance to watch their team putting the show like Milan was doing during that specific moment (from January-March 2004), lamentably some things happened and well you know the story.
