This has been my dream lineup. Many may argue of it's effective mess but let's observe first off many of you are saying dinho is taking pato's shine well by bringing ronaldinho as an AM on the left
Pato now regains his natural role as a striker. We all know Hunterlaar has been dubbed the king of the bycicle now imagine him in a central striking position now without the responsibilities as a makeshift winger he had at times this past season.
Of course dzeko would be placed on the right, I have tracked him for some time and he does prove
to be effective when running in from the right. We know the capabilities of these three strikers.

Behind them now we have possibly 2 of milan's best creators. On the left ronaldinho no need for argument and on the right clarence seedorf with the possiblity of krasic and clarence alternating.
This would leave a third midfielder abate who could roam the midfield in something like a sweeper/5th defender position with the ability to push and aide attack if necessary.
Many may say no abate sucks but he has the stamina, the strength, will and pace to be deadly in this position. his skill is just unrefined and raw but lets picture him in a role such as this.
clearly this would force ronaldinho to improve his defensive roles. But if we all are milan fans I'll assume we do watch our season games and have seen him defend when necessary. He does provide a solid tackle and can defend if necessary.
It's a shame he doesn't do it often but let's be imaginative and say he improves his fitness this summer just to regain pace and stamina.

In defense there isn't much to say, of course we need stronger wing backs but i can say proudly our CB's have proved to be solid minus the injury of nesta.
Feel free to critique on why this would or would not work and some possible wingbacks who could prove effective. By offloading a number of players we could first off increase our spending cap this year to pickup dzeko possibly hernanes and 2 solid wingbacks. If not we could alternately put faith into the upcoming youth and place our best in defensize roles.
I would argue that: Favalli, Gattuso, Mancini, Ambrosini, Bonera, Oddo, Kaladze, even Boriello would be the best to offload along with inzaghi if he hadn't signed that new extension.
For GK i would suggest Diego Alves he is young full of quality and eager to pen a deal with Milan. Many would argue that did ashould be shipped off but i would prefer Nelson over the likes of roma, abiatti and storari.
Dida has really performed this year and has been reliable at times...now let me hear it.

That formation has simply 5 players that don't track back. Defend with 5 men is just impossible. These days top teams defend with 9 man.

Pirlo wouldnt fit in this formation because this formation would only work in football manager. we would concede so many goals. Plus Abate is no where near good enough to start for us even at right wing where that is his natural position to put him in CM is a disaster hes not good at passing, poor vision, cant long ball, poor tackling, average dribbler and all round isnt very creative.

lol i'm being optimistic, i said it was my dream formation, and hunt isn't triquetista he's lined up with dzeko and pato he's just a CF, i have another formation that's more realistic and defensively balanced but nobody can deny the attacking power of the formation. And If you read my post and not just the formation you'd see I said it would only work if Ronaldinho tracked back and likewise for seedorf, that would be 7 men defending in a sense an improvement but i clearly understand this wouldn't happen so spare me lol.

For me, two formations would be essential:

Against smaller teams, or when needing to score, 4-3-1-2. If we really need a goal, one or even both of the wide central midfielders could be replaced by hard working wingers ... making it more of a 4-1-2-1-2.

Againts tougher opposition, I'd have to go with the 4-2-3-1 ... with a great deal of emphasis going to the 3 attacking mids. The wide men MUST be hard workers, helping the central midfield + their respective wingbacks. Obviously, they should also be good crossers (basically, qualities of traditional wingers) + be mobile making runs into the box to support the lone forward especially when the ball is in possession on the opposite flank.

The central attacking mid/support striker should be an all-round player, capable of assisting and scoring equally. Would be the focus of the team so basically is the most important player of the system.
