Yep Serie A decided to keep 5 subs for this season.

Milan are back in talks with Celtic for defender Kristoffer Ajer, according to reports in Italy and Scotland, for a loan with option to buy

I've watched a him once or twice. If we can get him for less that 20m it would be a steal. He seems like a much better value player than Milenkovic. I'd rather get Ajer and Bakayoko than just Milenkovic.

Fiorentina are living in a dream world, their players are massively overrated.

But I like Ajer a lot, decent distribution good physicality good heading and decent on the ball. The only thing he lacks is pace but he seems a natural cb. One of the last few generations which will have this, now they will all be shorter technical and more ball playing DM's at CB.

Really really dont like Milenkovic for 40m the more i think about it.

Ajer is a solid CB with good potential. Not a world-beater but on par with Kjaer with room to grow. Wouldn't expect him to instantly start though.

You guys think he's as good as Kjaer? (haven't seen him play besides highlights)

Ajer on loan with 15mil option is better than Milenk on 30-40mil.
Either we sign Ajer next year or we get back to Milenk who will be cheaper by then.

Why not Ajer on loan + possibly Milenkovic at the end of mercato, ship Duarte wherever, he can even be our ballboy and send Gabbia on loan to get regular playing time instead of being 4th choice CB

Do the math :)

Gabbia in that case would be 5th choice.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Rade Krunic could stay at Milan. The Bosnian midfielder seemed destined for the start (Freiburg offered 8 million for his card), but the coach Stefano Pioli, unless there is a particular market plot, would be willing to bet on him.

I mean if we get one of them Gabbia is the 4th choice. If we get 2, its better to loan him out. I wouldnt count on Musa at all, he's been out for far too long, will take him some time to get back in shape

Among the players approached to Milan with some insistence there is also Federico Chiesa. As reported in today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, a negotiation has not yet been made on Fiorentina's talent, but will remain among the Rossoneri options until the end of the market.

Depay would kill it in Italy. I?ve been secretly hoping he stays at Lyon one more year and joins us next year. The False-Ibra role in the 4231 would suit him so well. It?s obviously a different approach as he isn?t going to be bringing balls down on his chest while shielding dudes, but he can play the withdrawn playmaker role.

What's a False-Ibra role?

Watch him get relegated and we pick him up for free. Maldini masterclass. Why pay 15m when you can get two years of experience on him and then take him for nothing?

Gabbia should be given a chance. He's showing he has some talent. He can tackle, he reads game well, he's still young. I have no doubts he'll have a good career, I just hope its with us. But for now, he's still rough. He needs two seasons at least to mature.

Picking up La Masia products on the cheap wouldn't be a bad idea. Barca sucks relatively speaking at the moment but their youth products are still quality.

Only issue is that we're somewhat overloaded there with 3 central mids already with starting quality/potential to start and Bakayoko possibly coming.

Milan should learn from Madrid,

Milan clearly has deadweights (almost every season), so if they dont perform at Milan, instead of aiming straight for cut-loss, maybe a dry loan would be a better choice.

1. Loan Krunic, Duarte, or any youngsters to Serie A promotee or germany/france.
2. Pay for their salary with a clause (must play in at least 20 games)
3. lets hope they performs
4. evaluate their performance at the end of the season.

Get him and loan him out. We should adopt the youth model of signing promising players and loaning them out for a year or two to a bottom tier Serie A team.

Wont work just loaning them out. We're going to end up in the same situation as Merda. Once they'll return we're going to have a huge squad consisting of our main players, loanees returning and the players supposed to replace the loanees going out on dry loans. That means spending unneccesary time every summer trying to find teams to them whos willing to take them on loan before we can make any moves on the market. Look at merda, entire mercato almost gone and they havent found suitors for Radja, Perisic, Joao Mario etc... they have a squad consisting of 40 players I believe  it's just not an ideal situation

if you have someone like Krunic who only cost 8m but earns 1.1 million you pay 1/5 of their value (incl. tax) for a chance that they improve in a way that outperforms the costs. With expensive talents who don?t earn much more its a different situation, but then you run into a lot of bound capital.

That strategy only works with expensive world class talents (if you have deep pockets) or with low earning youth imo.

Edit: and of course their book value gets written of in the meantime too.
