We just lost power over our own fate. Fucking cunts.
Trying to not be too much of a contrarian but at least those times are the ones we've been able to perform in..

If only we had someone to deliver those decisive final passes.

On a positive side, I'll be more relieved when we officially secure Champions League football. That last game vs Atalanta last season had me sweating.

Never fail to disappoint. A lucky point to certain extent. We don’t have a game plan, just long balls from goalkeeper to forward hoping miracle will happen, it’s so funny to see both our fullbacks run towards the centre every time we attack, 56 and Messias also dribble to the centre. In fact, all our attackers try to overcrowd the center of the pitch. There was not a single overlapping run in the last 2 games if I’m not wrong. Very frustrating games, but I think we need to accept that we don’t have the setup to win the Scudetto.

Who cares. The first XI played like a stressed out, lost and directionless bunch of amateurs.

It's not like this first XI was especially lacking, yet we were terrible.

How is that not on him?
We played ok up until the last third. There were no problems in defense, no problems in retaining the ball and moving it up. We went to shit up front when we had to make a decision or a run or decide when to shoot.

FQAaEbqXwAc0jwg

This is a perfect example. Calabria was free. Pass to Calabria. Saelemaekers instead decided to flop. How is this on Pioli? It's a team of kids that are learning how to win, and lessons like these hopefully helps them mature, but we could have won with a bit of luck today, same as Bologna. We had very few chances. Giroud couldn't shake off Bremer, Leao had a lot of space, and have a few opportunities but it didn't work out. Theo kept looking for the foul instead of forcing his way in. We didn't play as a team. I honestly think Ibra up front today would have made a huge difference. Bremer wouldn't have bullied him easily, and Ibra knows how to pull away at times, to help bring a threat to the right side for example. Giroud is great with flicks, but on the ball outside the box he's non-existent.

I think Giroud is a great plan B striker. We're using him as our plan A forward now, but that leaves us very disorganized when we want to try to play any other way. We can't run in behind, we can't ask him to rotate positions, we can't ask him to beat his man. You either use Giroud as a wall, or cross so he can head it in. That's it. It's easy to predict and plan against. Bremer knows that Giroud will ALWAYS come towards the ball, never try to go behind. That makes it really easy for Bremer to anticipate him. A threatening forward is one where the defender can't take that chance, since he can hurt you both ways.

I don't think I can fault Pioli on much today. He played the cards he was dealt. I'm sure with a full squad we would have played a much more robust midfield without Brahim, and used Ibra and Rebic in the second have as an alternative. We just had no options today and we didn't get lucky. We didn't deserve to win, but sometimes champions win games they're not supposed to.

Because he has been playing without a RW & an AM the hole season.
You are here literally saying we lost the scudetto , we are competing for the scudetto without a RW & an AM with two grandpas leading our attack.
I love both but Maldini is more to blame than Pioli for not wining current scudetto.

How was Scudetto “literally” there for our taking when our squad struggle to score and lack difference makers?

Yea, the opportunity was there but it’s not like we were leading with 2-3 games left…
Because if we won last week and today we'd be +4 with 6 to go. That leaves room for error, and it's not like Napoli and Inter would win 6/6 either. That would have been a massive boost. Now a draw puts us behind Napoli on GD so we have zero breathing room, and Inter's game in hand can see them overtake it. It's back to must-win every single game with a tough schedule in the final 6 rounds.

It was there for the taking if we could just score damn goals. You're right though, we throw it away as we can't score. That is the difference. Inter and Napoli choked too but have difference-makers.

2 strikers when...

Ibra perma injured
Rebic perma injured
OG sure, that works!
Lazetic a kid whose been playing with Primavera but we want to put the weight on him?

Or Leao - OG upfront?
Yeah might as well. Giroud was completely alone on top. Diaz and Saladmakers were stinking up the place so bad.

My unborn son deserves a better finish to the season than this. Maybe what the squad is missing is him being born.

Also Leao is supposed to be our most talented player, but lately he's more or less invisible. So basically three players behind Giroud who can't deliver anything right now, really frustrating, no wonder we can't score. Pioli has to make them stay at Milanello and make passing training until they finally get something right.

No its on Maldini.
Who am i to be 100% sure that Diaz is gonna be a shit AM because he cant pass ?
Also two years ago when everyone was praising Sale I was saying RW is our weakest link because i knew Sale is average when he was at his best & now look at him.
If i knew that since day one then how come Maldini didnt ?
And then you have OG who is a great poacher but a poacher & when you have a problem with the build up & with creativity then no , you dont get a poacher.
Am not asking him to print money but obviously he didnt see how shit they are & that is an idiotic mistake.
He didnt even try to loan an AM.
He loaned Messias who failed & again its on Maldini.
Why not use the 5mil that we used to get Lazetic to up Faivre's offer & be done with it?
Pioli is over achieving with this team & its Maldini's fault that we lost two achievable scudettos.
I love him & he created miracles with this team but did also the team wrong here n there.
If you expected and demanded that we win the title this season, then yes it's on Maldini. It was never the plan to win this season. Everyone in the management was saying we are targeting 4th place. The squad wasn't built to win the title, and we all know there were holes in the squad. Every window they improved the squad piece by piece and this year there were still some missing pieces. Next season the target will be the title and the squad will have been built to win it.

We're overachieving this season, true. That' a testament to Pioli, the team and also the management for building an environment that allowed the young squad to grow so quickly.

We had to deal with FFP, and losses that are over 100m each year. During covid it was 190m. They had to build this squad with cheap loans and targeted purchases each year for reasonable amounts. We couldn't build a title winning squad fast, but we're getting there.

We don't know why we didn't get Faivre, and to say he's the reason why we didn't win the title is a bit hopeful.

You're judging Maldini harshly. He's building this squad piece by piece and it takes time. If we win while we get there, great. But the plan is to build a winning team and I think next year we'll see that. We can still win now, if we get lucky, but it's honestly not the end of the world if we don't.

I know it's the worst time to be saying this, but for me that's how I can cope with this disappointing loss, by stepping back and realizing that we're on a really good path and things are looking very, very good.

Now we can win every game left but if they do too it won't make even a tiny difference
This is how Inter felt for the past few weeks. Yet here we are. They can fuck up next, same as how Napoli fucked up today. No one will win every game.

You still dont get it.
It was obvious in winter that we can win it.
Am not expecting him to print money but FFS loan a RW & an AM.
All we needed is just a little more on those positions & its so fuckin easy to upgrade over two shit players like Diaz & Sale.
A chance presented itself & Maldini didnt take it.
Its like you are telling me that its a part of the plan not to win this season.
Its stupid.
I love him & wouldnt trade him for any SD out there but he dropped the ball there & its no insult , Maldini will learn & evolve.

Giroud at least tried.

He is not a fucking genius so his efforts resulted in nothing. Lack of creativity is not a reason to blame

But he tried.

I guess they believed there wasn't an AM or a RW available in winter for a reasonable risk or cost that would have been an upgrade. At the time Brahim was faltering but he wasn't a disaster like he is now. Messias was actually doing okay up until a couple of months ago. Saelemaekers also wasn't this shit in the first part of the season. In hindsight it would have been great to recall Adli if possible, or something like that. In fact the big emergency was in defense, and if we had gotten some short term fix for CB then we wouldn't have seen the emergence of Kalulu. There's some benefit to trusting and letting the players play because that's how they grow.

I agree we needed a better option to replace Pellegri, preferably one that's a diferrent dimension to Ibra and Giroud. I also would have liked a better RW or an AM that can pass. We're getting that next year, it would have been nice to get it last winter, but we honestly don't know why he didn't pull the trigger.

It seems none of them are injured, they are just "fatigued."

I think Pioli kept them out of this game, because we play Genoa on Friday and then Inter on Tuesday. He seemed like he was banking on shit-housing this game?

That makes sense.... If we want to beat Inter again....
