This season I've been as frustrated as most here with Pioli's tactics and choices and in the heat of bad moments have asked for his head but like he said everything should be evaluated at the end. With a clear head I now declare that Padre deserves to stay at least one more season. I have some questions for the #Pioliout crowd: are you sure that his replacement will have better results? What if he flops? There are no guarantees.
When Pioli got the job it was like ho-hum, another mediocre coach, but would you have been happy if it turned out that he would have given us a 2nd place, a scudetto, a CL semifinal and what looks like a 3rd consecutive qualification to the top European tourney? A scudetto after 10 years? A CL after eight? I would have said: "get the fvck out of here, it will never happen"
He was supposed to be a temporary solution and after the 0-5 loss to Atalanta was a sure goner and we were ready to replace him with the mad German genius until miraculously baldy righted the ship and made EUL and so was saved. I guess you all were spoiled by the likes of Giampaolo, Brocchi, Inzaghi, Seedorf, Montella, Miha, Gattuso, a new coach every six months it seems. Pioli never got the credit he deserved: it was Ibra, Paolo, Gazidis, Elliott, How easy it is to forget history, forget how fucked we were the last few seasons of B&G and the Chinese regime now that we got a little taste of success.
Serie A has proven that you can't take anything for granted, that small teams can beat or draw big teams as we saw yesterday and many other times. Milan is the biggest victim of this phenomenon and probably the weakest part of Pioli's coaching, but he also has strengths like keeping the squad together, motivating, and coming up big in important matches. He has not had a great season but has two years left on his contract and does not deserve to get fired based on what he has achieved in almost 4 years at the helm.
