I wonder..who would be your two ideal RBs on a realistic budget?
Anyone but calatrash. I would take that spezia Lb that owned him.

Don't worry you're not alone...RLC seems like another crazy gamble especially when that money could be used to sign SMS or Fofana who's also strong in both phases of the game and Serie A proven.

M&M never seem to learn :fp:
I doubt Fofana would offer much different. From the highlights they look very similar. Actually, Fofana's look worse. He isn't as technical. Probably more physical, but everything looks like it's 100 mph with him, and not in a good way. Not composed. Can't release a pass. Just good at dribbling and very strong.
Neither are what we desperately need.

Fofana's defensive stats aren't strong. The only impressive stat he has is goals. If he comes, it's to play the Krunic role. Which we all hope is reserved for SMS.

I was not aware that Patosheva had a second account.

The Meltdown level is amazing, considering it's only May. What happens in the middle of August?

I just want rich owners.

You know 90% of the players we signed in the past 5 years werent serie a proven?
Yes I'm aware...however, for certain positions which MMM have failed to address properly over the past few seasons e.g. AM + RW, being Serie A proven is an added bonus (but not essential). In other words, had we signed Dybala > CDK and Berardi > Salad/Messias we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The other reason I keep mentioning being 'Serie A proven' is because Pioli seems to favour this approach lately hence preferring to use the likes of Krunic, Pobega + Diaz at the expense of Adli, CDK + Vranckx.

Calabria and Kalulu RB is fine for now. It's far from the most dire position we have. sub LW, starting CF, starting RW, starting AM, starting DM, sub LB seems to me much more dire at the moment.
Both have single handedly cost us games in that position. We need a Dumfries type player there.

I mean you're saying Calabria is trash, I'm asking who would you like to see at RB that's good enough for you

SMS
RLC Fofana

do it.
This is it. This right here is the winner. That's what we need.
Strong
Technical
Passing dribbling
Defence
Complete midfield.
Total budget cost = 35 plus 15 and 35. 85 mil. Spend it and dont look back.
You got to invest to grow in the long run. Just do it like nike

Your favourite. Dumfries would be ideal. Apparently he isnt good according to many here yet he pieced up our team several times Including an ownage of Theo.

calabria looks increasingly more injury prone and that's lead to an inability to remain a consistent performer

long gone are the days where he was running all game and dribbling like messi

he also lost a bit of his already mediocre speed both over long distances and in short bursts, he's good at defending when he's got his man in front but if a winger gets past he's gone

i wouldnt necessarily prioritize finding a replacement for him but i dont see him overcoming his current problems so his position is one worth keepin in mind in the long term

He has no clue if thats his argument.

When we spent 200, our revenue was around 200 or 190M. Following years we didnt grow it, actually it shrank more to 180 or so. Thats why uefa got involved. Iirc our punishment was 20M fine but we accepted ban from europe instead.

Today our revenue s 350. No1 s asking for 200M mercato. But we can absolutely spend 100M. There s no big club who post some profits worth a shit. If Gerry thinks profits of 10,20 M s something special for football club, than hes ********. Hes not. He wants to grow value and sell it in few years with stadium. U achieve that with good results, titles, nurturing stars, rising popularity of club.
totaly agree.

he had a solid couple of months where he was looking fit and sharp and was getting increasingly confident going forward, i was genuinely thinking he was on his way to making a jump in quality but it didnt end up happening. just injuries and massive drops in quality

it's been around 2 years since then and i've barely seen any glimpses of that same sharpness and confidence so i'd say it's a fair assumption he might never reach that level again. im not saying he was world class  but it was the first time in ages (possibly since debut seasons) where i had started believing once again that he could grow into a solid consistent starter

One season of Romagnoli under Sarri.

Chemo sessions have begun.

Poor guy is already losing his hair. :head:

Agreed...however, SMS is my first choice and out of all the other midfield candidates we've been linked to Fofana is the next best option (certainly better than RLC). After all, his defensive stats are on par with RLC (although RLC is much better at clearances) but he has significantly more goal contributions (12 vs. 1) and is a better passer with significantly more assists, crosses, long balls, key passes etc. Also, the fact that he's been a regular starter over the past few seasons and has played for Udinese before is an added bonus.

Sarri wanted to use him as an ashtray but Giroud just used our ale's face to rest his nuts.

Where was the worlds best defender when monza level Mainz were dominating them?

Slowpoke shouldve become sumo wrestler instead :head:

For me, I'd like to see us get SMS and Hjulmand.

Hjulmand-Tonali
Kamada-SMS-Leao

Krunic - Pobega - Bennacer and even Kamada are strong enough alternatives. Though I do think we need to push one of Krunic and Pobega out and make way for a midfielder who is better on the ball. Adli when he returns from the loan or Samardzic.
Joan Gonazlez is another interesting player - room to improve. Couldn't trust him to be starter straight away like but I think he'd be better to have than Pobega.

Very weird take given your response to PS
- Or are you saying that when we reach that status we will finally buy a good RW?

What the poster is saying is perfectly fine - we have had issues on the right for years and trying to find a cheap upgrade you would think is something they should prioritize but they kind of doubled down by re-signing Junior and extending Saelly.

To @pat_m_9 I would say they did try (rumored South American wingers) but the price was more than expected so nothing has happened as yet. Lets see how this summer goes.
All i'm saying that Messias/Saelemaekers aren't intended as endgame players. They're stopgaps and they should be in line now for an upgrade. I think they prioritized other positions last year, for better or worse. Let's see if they still don't prioritize RW, or if they feel we already have an in house solution.
