The way it’s done screams American corporate, and not really in line with how things work in Italy. And you could see this in their dealing with the stadium as well.
if its american corporate the new td of milan will be a woman
To be fair that's pioli, the squad did get worse.

Just like how pioli is responsible for finishing 5th ( if we didn't get lucky with juves fuck ups)

I don't know how to feel about maldini leaving, I thought he was too slow with negotiations and acquiring targets, but the way this was done is classless and chaotic.
sacking the icon of your club tarnishes the prestige, to put it mildly

And probably Maldini wanted to leave in the first place. Who says they fired him for no reasons ?

You would have never hired Pep at Barca Im guessing either.
Completely irrelevant. What did Pep do before going to Barca?

And what was Maldini doing before this job stint.

Laughable comparison considering your original point is that someone who’s never done the job at all is the greatest thing ever to happen to us. clearly Berlus spending was the greatest thing
Maldini has been in the game for decades. He has always been a leader of men. He understands the game, the league and the club.
Eh, none of those things automatically translate to being a good SD. Otherwise all great players who were leaders on the pitch would immediately become great SDs
At our lowest point, he came in and steadied the ship. He brought in some genuine world talents after years of not having a single one. He out performed his counterparts, despite them having greater experience too.
So all the good things were him, all the shortcomings were bc owners too cheap.

No wonder they want to end this relationship if that’s the rhetorics

Absolutely, no disagreement there

I just thought he wasn't a very good director when it came to the sporting and negotiation aspects, however I always thought he would get better over time.

I spent 18 minutes terminating an executive this morning. This guy had 0 Champions League titles, 0 Scudetti as a player, and 0 as a sporting director and I spent 9x the amount of time with him as Gerry did with Paolo fucking Maldini.

From the owners perspective:

Why should he learn on their dime while professing his love for Milan and the fans blame the ownership for the bad?

Moncada instead of Maldini is not the big problem. I think Moncada can also do a good job with enough resources. The big problem is the amount of resources Redshit provide. If Redshit are willing to make even 150 mil of losses over the next 2-3 yearsm they can make Milan a 3-4 billion worth club in 3-4 years time. With just 2-3 more Theo / Leao type players MIlan would be right up there next to PSG, Bayern,.. And it's not like they have to buy a readymade Leao type player for the RW or striker position. If they are just willing just to do a few 30-40 mil type signings then some of them will become the new Leao and new Theo.

Redshit want to play it safe and just try to get top 4 every year. They are not ambitious.
Wishful thinking :-). RedS**t does not have the money to fund 150M losses, and they are not going to be able to raise that kind of money in the current financial climate. Maybe in a year or two, not this year. Yeah, we can all wish for a different owner, but we are stuck for a while.

@General I never fully comprehended how Julius Caesar must have felt when Brutus, a man he thought of as a son, buried his dagger in his chest…

Until today…

… when I read your posts praising Cardinale for killing ‘Dini

i agree, wouldn't the rational approach be to give the club's biggest legend a bit of slack considering he just won the league for the first time in a decade? especially considering his weight and influence with the current squad
if this is some american corporate stuff it's going to get extremely gay very quickly

Well, not according to Knicks fans and the reaction to it

Anyways, it's the Knicks, brunson is probably going to end up having his shirt number retired.

Huh?

no

and it’s not just an American thing

plenty of performance driven organizations give ~1-2 years max for underperformance no matter what your surname is

He paid 5mil for Ibra's kid & another 5mil for the mighty Lazetic.
And another 5mil to get FBT while having Kerkez.
No one asked him to get 35mil CDK.
We asked him to get 15mil Enzo or Alvarez or maybe pay 10mil to Muani's agent.
But go on , act like he didnt have an extra mil to pay more for CDK was the problem.
But now you are attributing all of them to Maldini - were those his picks or part of the Moncada super cheap players that were to explode that seems to be what Gerry wants to double down on?

Also the move to keep Pioli - who has he played, were those Maldini or Moncada picks ?

We will see soon enough if budgets and methodologies change but just going on what Maldini has said this summer and last I find it hard to attribute many of those moves to him.

I would pin CDK Brahim and maybe Origi on him.
