I am just answering the narrative that Maldini got 'what he wanted'He got the autonomy that he wanted. Our opening offer for CdK was 25m + bonuses and there were reports that's the evaluation RB was comfortable with.
3 big players to raise the level of the group is a big ask - in modern day economy we are looking at a 80-100m window just for those 3 players, not to mention on fairly large contracts.
What if he got those 3 players and we didn't raise the level and we had to sell them on cut-price deals like Paqueta / Piatek? Is Maldini going to cover the loss from his own pockets? Also, what if Maldini changed his tunes and preached patience and asked for even more after he got his players? Ownership can clearly see Maldini accumulating more leverage in terms of relations w/ the fans. Barring a couple of people here, most fans attribute our successes to Maldini and not the stringent budget set by Elliot and attribute to our limitations to their lack of spending. So where do they draw the line if they let that slide?
From the ownership's perspective, we already comfortably achieved our bare minimum goal so why would they move away from their modus operandi and risk serious financial consequences just bc Maldini forgot why he was hired and started siding w/ the fans?
Not until we next reach CL Semi's, if I'm not mistaken? Or maybe perma'd himself this time for good.Is he come back?
How will we ever rid ourselves of Dest, Bakayoko, Tata, Vranckx, and Diaz?Tatarusanu, Dest, Vranckx, Bakayoko, Messias, Florenzi, Rebić, Origi, Ballo Toure, Diaz, Adli, Lazetić... Thats 12 players. And we need to let them go. They are useless at this moment.
Alot of work and that work must start now.
That's a personal choice - some people want an easy life and others want to say I made a difference or I built this.I said it a little while ago, but Zanetti is in the perfect role at Inter. Doesn't have to worry about getting sacked and is closely associated with ownership. Probably what Maldini should've had, but he wanted more.
It's sad. I would understand if we are going into BanterEra again. At the moment we are going CorpoEra and we will see what will happen. Everybody is in shockNot until we next reach CL Semi's, if I'm not mistaken? Or maybe perma'd himself this time for good.
You brought up experience Coop, not me.It's about trade offs.
They don't mind an inexperienced guy if he can do good work and keep his mouth shut. Even bonus point if he can "spin and dodge" question for them in the media. If Moncada goes rogue, he will meet the same fate.
But sure, proceed to spin with your argument "but Moncada also doesn't have experience". Like I said, won't bring Paolo back.
I don't think goals were unrealistic and the resources were inadequate (top 4 finish, finish outside of group in CL).I am just answering the narrative that Maldini got 'what he wanted'
He got part of what he wanted.
In many jobs we are told to do more with less and meet unrealistic goals given inadequate resources.
We obviously will see now if they can do a better job or it will be more of the same.
That's not what I said but it doesn't really matter. You brought up experience Coop, not me.
You can't shit in Maldini about his lack of experience and then act like it doesn't matter with Moncada.
I look forward to Moncada's tenure.
Have you decided whether RLC is a great player or not yet?Kamada is still coming so you aren't off the hook buddy
‘Working in close integration with the first team manager’ NAH MAN PIOLI INDIRECTLY GOT HIM SACKED… they’re giving Pioli the keys this season, this isn’t a coincidence. What a turn of events wow…
Origi salary is horror ,for me that is Maldini biggest mistake . You can't give that amount for bench player.Serie A clubs will come for Messias. He's good enough for a few of em. (I can't believe dini redeemed him tho)...
Origi will likely move back to the EPL, he'll have suitors there too. Rebic is gone, we may even terminate his contract ffs.

Franco Ordine, journalist of Il Giornale, explained: "The relationship is cold between Maldini and Pioli? Yes, from what I understand. Above all, I understand that there was a lively meeting between Pioli and Maldini regarding the use of the players who arrived during last summer market".
Of all the people, Maldini got burned by a nobody like Pioli.
Now Gazidis, Maldini and Massara are unemployedPioli has coached 12 squads
6 have failed (Palermo, Chievo, Modena, Parma, Grosseto, Piacenza).
3 have had deaths (Bologna - Mihajlovic, Fiorentina - Astori, Sassuolo - owner).
Calma with firing him.

On a limited budget, Maldini decided to put all his eggs in the CDK basket. This is probably the biggest reason why he got sacked. Would have been a totally different season had he used that money to sign Dybala for free, Enzo for 15 mil and a young promising RW for 15-20.Maldini got 3 big players to raise the level of the group ???
Not looking to argue - just saying.

Both pioli and Moncada like Kamada. Piloli will have more power in the market.
