100%…like I said before, Maldini WAS a great leader at the club and a ‘father figure’ to the younger players and it’s no coincidence that we suddenly started winning again following his return (ditto for Ibra).

However, based on the latest reports, it appears that there was a growing RIFT between him and other senior figures at the club including Cardinale, Furlani, Moncada + Pioli. Therefore, it looks like the wheels were ALREADY starting to come off hence our diabolical form post-Xmas so Cardinale sacked him because he considered him a destabilising figure in addition to his financial mismanagement.

Don’t get me wrong, Pioli and the players must take the LION’S SHARE of the blame for our poor results in the second half of the season. However, Maldini certainly didn’t help matters by ignoring Furlani, Moncada + Pioli’s advice and signing a bunch of flops without consulting them (whilst leaving gaping holes @ DM, AM, RW + CF) in addition to his brash comments directed at RedBird in the press.

FBT is 100% on Moncada but Maldini had complete autonomy on the market last summer so it was HIS decision to sign fodder Messias permanently. Also, Moncada already had deals wrapped up for BOTH Enzo + Muani but Maldini preferred to focus on Sanches + signed Origi instead.
