Dusan is definitely valued higher.
This news is likely BS, but if it did happen, they're doing a "swap" to offset the wages.

But this is another one for the dustbin, imo.

Maybe because of Vlahovic high salary, Juve are willing to let him go for 25-30 mil or a player with similar value. They then save on the salary.

So Longo says:

After selling Reijnders for what the management already considers a very strong deal – 55M plus 15M in bonuses, after buying him for 20M plus 5M – Milan’s balance sheet is back in order. And with that, there seems to be a clear shift in transfer strategy, probably influenced by Igli Tare’s arrival and his experience in holding firm during negotiations.

The new approach appears to be something like: "Our balance sheets are back in order. We don't need to sell in order to buy. And if we sell, we do it on our terms. Our prices are set – take it or leave it." So if a club wants Maignan, the price is 30M. If they want Theo, it’s 25M. Musah? 30M. There’s no room for negotiations, no discounts, no more "let’s make a deal" like in past years.

This stance is already having an effect. The Musah-to-Napoli talks have cooled down – not entirely dead, but clearly on standby. There’s less optimism now, and it feels like the ball is in Napoli’s court. If they want him, they’ll have to meet the price. Or else he stays – for now.

Meanwhile, Milan are continuing their pursuit of Javi Guerra. The move is progressing regardless of the Musah situation. Allegri has been shown a lot of footage of Guerra and reportedly really likes him. Milan want him – and they’ll push for him, whether Musah stays or goes.

I think if we got CL football, I don't think Reijnders leaves Milan.

I think Tonali was sold because Moncada did not rate him, and when he took control, he sold him.

I also think the players thought they could make a run to the CL, or even win it. With the way that the players were talking about it, Walker included, I think they saw the CL as a tangible goal. Maybe that's the sort of ambition you have to have to be successful as a player? I'm not saying we could have won, but I'm talking about the players' mentality.

Reijnders leaving doesn't have the same impact because Tonali was seen more as a future captain, Milan fan, and all that. I also think the devastation from the 8th place finish, fans knew that players were going to be sold.

The weird thing is why Milan's two big sales under Redbird have both been very fast, did not seek to maximize the value of those players, nor did they really open up to a bidding war. If the whole point of selling players is to be more efficient, what tangible benefit do you get from selling so quickly, without maximizing what you can get from those sales?
My point is simply they both would have been content to stay and not be sold.

Redbird wanted to cash in. In the end we simply will not significantly improve if we continually decide to cash in on our best players and not add better players to play along side them.

while I like this "take it or leave it" strategy, it will not really work with players who have 1 year on their contract left

regardless of who the player is, losing a player for free rather than getting 12-15m for him, even if he's worth 50m, is a loss.

i expect Maignan & Theo to be sold before season's start unless we renew them in July. Milan's not in a good position with these two

This is the management we've been lacking for years. Seems now it's being run like a top level football club instead of a yard sale.

it's not 2003 any more where there's no FFP.

the sooner fans return to reality and understand that we must be making more revenue (or enough revenue) while not owning a stadium is going to be impossible.. selling our players for ridiculous sums will have to be the way forward for us until that stadium's revenues are coming in... in Tijji's case, we needed to sell also because we have to compensate for the poor sporting results from last year..

This is such a dumb strategy. They should have first sold Musah for 25 mil and Maignan for 20 mil, maybe even Saladmaker or Tomori / Thiaw / Theo. Then they they should have said 90-100 mil for Reindeer or no sale.

Instead they sell the best player super fast, and bargain for more money on the less good players!! Who is the genius behind this strategy?

Tare didn't sell Tiji. We can only judge his strategy on his negotiations.

This is absurd. You stand firm on a price for Musah but fold easily to sell Reijnders?

Tijj said City contacted his father.
Tijj said yes because City contacted Milan who set a price on his head.
So Milan didnt initiate the sale or else Tijj would have said that Milan contacted him with the deal.
He even talked how happy he is gonna play for such elite team.
What are you talking about?!
About Theo there are clubs coming to ask for him.
There are reports that the club is ready to sell but again a price need to be met.
The same goes for MM.
Chelsea came with a buy price & we didnt accept it.

There was not a single report that suggested that Milan offered Theo , MM or Tijj to a single club.
So City contacted his father. Neither his father nor the player put it out there that they wanted to leave.

My point is Tiji was not actively seeking to leave. He probably would have been okay to stay. I won't argue missing CL probably made it an easier of a decision to leave.

But the club could have said they he is unsellable having just signed a contract and were not going to sell him. It would have been cased closed!!!

They chose to sell and cash in. It's unfortunate.

Those two will make our weakest position the strongest for at least two years.
Exactly.

I've been saying ever since during the Scudetto season that we need that Ibra/Kjær signing in midfield too. Now, after both the other departments started struggling as well - we're taking action!

Defense is next, I guess. I think that department too will be significantly revamped.

Okay say that then...but don't tell me that the player was dying to leave and there was no way to keep him because I don't buy that.

Management had to cash in.

Management truly F'd things up!! No CL money because of bad choices, and now we have NO choice to sell our better players.

Again its unfortunate.

what kind of midfielder is Guerra?
Seems to me like a box to box. Strong in multiple aspects of his game. I'm not aware of his specialties.

I dont find it absurd at all. I think the price for Deers that had to be met was 70mil. Also its obvious that a big part of selling Deers is to balance the books. Now we can again play hardball.
