Really interested to see tonights game, I expect it to be chaotic and entertaining.

I think there it is very probable that Spain wins against both teams in the final.

Gentlemen or unwritten agreements don't mean fuck all in today's football where greed beats everything so sign by pen as quickly as possible. If that had happened to us we'd all be screaming foul.

If that had happened to us, every Italian journalist would be screaming "no political weight" which has always sounded to me like a narrative invented purely to throw more shit at Elliott first and RedBird after.

I've always thought that's BS and I'm on record saying it plenty of times. Looks like even Marotta isn't immune to getting played (and it's not the first time, both Como and Atalanta keep making him look as competent as Furlani these days). Truth is there's no such thing as political weight in football. The only weight that actually matters is the weight of money.

As someone who generally really dislikes English football, there's only three players that I've really enjoyed over the years.

Wayne Rooney (what a player!)
Phil Foden (so talented and fun to watch)
Jude Bellingham (saw him live twice in CL. I will never forget the way he can dominate a game from the central midfield)

Milan want Jesus as backup to Ramos.

Will be available for loan with option to buy for 25

Currently Milan are very interested and so are Galatasary/fenerbace.

Was trying to read about Amorim's tactics, and it's pretty complicated. Apparently he uses assymetric wingers - one to provide width and the other would be an inverted one cutting inside. Guess the second role is what he wants Chuk for. Central defender has to be really aggressive and have an aerial presence - so not sure if Gila will play central, someone mentioned here that he is not good in the air. The LCB and RCB are supposed to play a bit wider and cover the opposition wingers etc. etc. He needs a GK good with playing out from the back and a relentless presser CF - guess Maignan and Ramos fit perfectly. Rest of the profiles and requirements are for tactics nerds to read and understand.
My hope is that the players can understand and adapt quickly. One positive is that Cardinale seems to be taking Amorim's inputs seriously.
Gila has been at his best on the right where he makes his runs up the pitch, would have less space from a central position. As some have said, perfect replacement and clear upgrade to Tomori.

I think the era of placing players where they are not good fits, (Leao at CF), is over when I read how careful Amorim is to use every player in his best role.

Bar Messi, this should be an easy win for England.
England are serial shockers but this is the best team they had.
Unlike Spain who evolved with each game, Argentina started great & faded away.
Their strategy is give Messi the ball & run.
So, it all depends on how Messi will play.
Shout out to Alvarez who might hit form & show it tonight.

Argentina have taken over atlanta. They ain't losing to this lot.

England are great. But back 4 has been a liability.

Messi hat trick at the minimum

News today from MilanNews and TMW: Kostic keeps impressing Amorim who has blocked him from joining Futuro's camp. Could be that he just wants enough numbers for the trip to Scotland but if he continues to do well might have a shot at the A team.

Sampdoria in Serie B wants Camarda on loan, a request from new coach Bernardo Corradi that was on Allegri's staff last season. Corradi was a good striker at Lazio but also played for several other teams.

Nobody cares though. The league is in decline. Italy can keep their inter team and become irrelevant for their stupid decisions

Pavlo LCB and Gila RCB, with Gabbia holding in the middle, I'm chill with that. Unless we get an upgrade for CB...

Regarding your second paragraph, I agree with playing players to their strengths and proper positions, and hoped for the same, then I read these crazy reports about ChuK at RWB lol...

Balon Dor for not being the best player on his club or his nation?

I mean granted, he is a mega talent and way better than Leao for example.

Thats how it works no. Why change it now

Euro 2016…did France have any business losing that Final, especially after Ronaldo went off?

202(0/1)— France had Switzerland down and out. Then…collapse

2022, fine, it was Messi’s destiny

This World Cup? I picked Spain to win, but given what Deschamp was working with, was the loss today a hard-fought one even? It was a whimper. That’s on him.
I expected France to win it all

I am one of the 4 people in a pool I’m in that picked Spain. 24 picked France. About 9 picked Argentina. 8 picked England.

There was also someone who unironically picked Brazil.

Lol, had no idea about Palestine flag. Who cares about a place that doesn't exist anyway.

Point being, Barca prodigies are dime a dozen. Bojan, puig, enso fati. All were promised to be next thing and yet la masia hasn't produced it since Messi. High rise quick fall, their knees usually don't hold up unless you give them the Messi growth hormones.
The next 'world class' is Olise in my book.
If we're talking about 'football IQ', look at Pedri at age 21. Already performing consistently for Barca and Spain.

Cubarsi is 19 as well ffs. Despite not being fast or bulky has shown awareness and understanding of potential threats by France. Has contained Mbappe, Barcola and Duoe, who crushed previous defences.

Yamal, who was impressive in CL as well, has dribbling ability, speed, and technique. Hasn't shown anything that relates to understanding football at a high level, and time will tell if he will.

Yamal, let me repeat, has had a disappointing WC before this match, a sentiment which I believe dear Massaro also shared and forgot, and hasn't exactly scored a brace/hattrick today. Was lucky to have senior citizen Digne in front of him to abuse, and a mediocre Lacroix to deal with, because given that Saliba would've been on the pitch, France's defence wouldn't look like Sunday league level.

There's a reason why, after the 15' minute mark, all threats and goal situations came from France's left side, and it isn't because Yamal suddenly unlocked his 'limitless' brain capacity and became WC mid-match.
I put it to you that any player who can shine on the biggest stage at 16 is a cerebral, high iq player. I am willing to generalize the hell out of this. I take your point about Barcelona churning players who fizzle out, but as of now, what Yamal has shown is remarkable for where he has shown it and when he has shown it.

This kind of precocity is rare.
