First counter with both on the pitch today and Ramos is seen waving his compatriot forward to join in and make the attack viable :proud:
We all looked for coaches to unlock him, now the 3rd same language speaker

Who knew it all depended on Gerald's 70m euro man

Yea I have seen this movie many times in the past. Only to fizzle out badly.

So I would keep expectations extremely low tbh.

He is at best a super sub

I hope to be proven wrong but I doubt it cause I am hardly ever wrong.

Let’s get the scudetto then we can talk about his 74 mil price tag.
I am not saying he is some WC ace - just saying he looked like he came from a top club and his level is superior to what we have across the board.

Now if he settles in and goes on vacation mode then we address that once it happens.
If he isn't capable then he will rightly get crucified.

Exactly. Chuckweaze looked lightning quick in La liga but then when he came to Serie a ,which is considered a slow league by dumb epl fans, Chuck got his rear end handed to him.
Chuck became a starter just in his last 5 month with Villarreal from January.

I said Goncalo was waving him forward, not that Rafa joined him 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If our no.10 stays we need to hope Rafa does indeed join in and not Ramos pick up the bad habits.

I never got what the algorithms saw in him. He scored some punches in bunches but other than that, was a non-entity for most of his career I believe?

For the money spent, last year of his contract, for the wages he's on and no growth decree... It was one of the most ridiculous transfers I've ever seen.

The same window as RLC in much the same situation.

Weird!!!

Redbird literally made 1 good signing in the last 2 years - Rabiot.
So, the question "what they saw in Chuck" is pretty much rhetorical. :proud:

Out of all the cl and el teams, Is there really no one that wanna spend 40m+ for Leao ?
Guess they all will wait till the end of the mercato, while we desperate to sell him for a lower price.

Aston Villa signing Ruggeri. Likelihood of Estupinan leaving this summer has significantly decreased after Amorim's "evaluation".

They’ve all been scouting him for the last three years and have seen how he plays. No wonder nobody wants him.

Didn't people here request to respect the coach's wishes and give him what he asks?

Ruben Loftus-Cheek manifested a display of such commanding midfield sovereignty that conventional superlatives became linguistically insufficient, his synthesis of physical domination, spatial cognition, and technical expertise rendering the opposition structurally subordinate throughout the encounter.

Christopher Nkunku exhibited an almost paradoxical amalgamation of unpredictability and calculated manipulation, repeatedly inducing structural instability within opposing defences through such refined deception that the attainment of penalties appeared less a matter of fortune than an inevitable consequence of his cerebral offensive architecture.
Holy shit! Who wrote that and what game was I watching?

@Tantalis 75% through Mania for Subjugation IV.

Love it as I love all of Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History. It suffers a little from the topic having already been masterfully covered in King of Kings; however, we should largely be moving past that point in the series and deeper and deeper into Alexander lore as he moves further east and further into legend.

I’d give something substantial up for a phenomenal 30 season series dedicated to Alexander. But alas.

I expect Leao will run out his contract here.

At this point, I would hope we can raise some transfer funds by selling RLC, Estupinan, Tomori, and Fofana but it’s getting to be late in the game and there aren’t really any credible links for any of them.

Someone said it earlier, but Leao staying is fine… we just need to figure out how to sign 2 wing backs and at least one more CB.

If all we did was improve our defense and upgrade CF from last season, it’ll at least have been something.

Deciding to keep Estupinan is definitively stupid, but there’s no way that’s true. Whoever was interested probably watched Estupinan’s game tape and went to the back office immediately and fired the intern that recommended him.

OR

They told Amorim we blew our transfer load and can’t buy any more players and he was like fine I’ll keep this boner.

It’s pre-season, guys. Don’t forget.

I always think back to a pre-season under Allegri when we played Arsenal at the Emirates and Verdi played really well. Back then, we looked really good – young and fresh. I thought at the time that this was the moment when we’d start playing modern, fresh football and rejuvenate the squad.

Well. It came to nothing.

Or do you remember Cutrone’s breakthrough game against Bayern? Well, the following season was still shit anyway.
Don't disagree with your broader point, but do want to make this comment-

Verdi in a lot of ways is a perfectly example of how Italian football in general and Milan specifically have screwed up player development.

Verdi showed serious flashes in preseason, but never got a real run of play with the senior team. Then co-ownership, loans, etc. Years later, played very well at Bologna and earned a 25 million Euro move, after which he fizzled.

To me, this is the exact time of players that losses out in Italy vs elsewhere- while there are late bloomers, the biggest difference between top players and average ones is getting minutes at a young age and really being pushed when they're like 17-21. A player like Verdi that eventually got to the point where he was good enough to score 10 goals and earn a 25 million move indicates that he legit had talent, and is the profile of a player that if he got thrown into the fire when he was showing major flashes could have taken a next step that he never did.

Sure, its not a magic bullet, and he might not have made it to the next level even with that chance, but giving talents like that the opportunity is how high end players are created.

I don’t know man the market is completely fucked

I think they bet Amorim can turn Estipudo into a player better than whatever can be found on the market for 15-20m

We heard nothing about Amorim wanting Stupido when there was talks about a sale.
I think we only hear that when the deal already collapsed.

Leao in top form is just unstoppable. Problem is we see this version of him maybe 5 to 6 times a year - if we are lucky. Under Allegri we wernt. Consistancy is a king in this sport. And unfortunetly potential buyers see this also. Maybe he could reach his potential and stabilze his form on top level but...he seems to much distracted by things outside of football (he calls it music career). I though becoming a father would change that. But I was mistaken. Sell him ASAP even with a loss and move on.
