I actually applaud the decision.
You can't give those. How close they were, how hard the ball was hit.

Do we want to go down the route of players looking to get pens by doing that.

When I saw the incident live, I said to myself "nah, not a PK because of the proximity to the ball", as I thought it was the classic "ball seeking the hand/arm", ie the attacker is trying to target the player's arm.

Then they showed the replay and you can clearly see that the defender raises/extends his arm, to exactly where the ball is trying to get passed him.
The defender probably had a tomoron moment and actually tried to stop it with his arm.

Clear PK any day of the week.

I'm still pissed off about this. This is the type of shit that decides most Serie A games.

Another thing, the reversal of the corner decision:
Let's see how many other games they will use this rule in this season.
I have feeling it will be forgotten for some teams.

I always thought this was the way to go, but of all the players today Musah impressed me the most. Had low expectations but he did really well and kept it up all game.

There’s still a good player in there it seems, hope Amorim can finally find him.

Nah , he moved it backwards which led his hand towards the ball. It didnt start in the position.
He also wasnt pulling his arm behind his back so in my view it shouldve been given.

I dont have much issues with the refs but VAR is proving to be against us; there have been enough episodes now for me to say its not all coincidence.

Nah ... he has been excellent all pre-season and has continued. He was able to dribble right getting to the end line, was able to cut in to his favoured left and then at the end when they were doubling him was giving up the ball quickly to Gila or the center.

This is what we hoped other managers would get out of our players. If he is to stay then I can only hope he plays like this and forces Moreira to prove he is worth every penny we paid for him.

To be honest the thing i loved the most was that defensive move he pulled.
I mean he is easily playable even with one leg offensively if he can be defending.

Cisse did not play against Chelsea but did vs Man U where he scored a goal so today's was his second in a row. Like Amorim I love Cisse, great stamina, when he lost possession chased like a madman, and was helpful on defense, the complete opposite of Leao and that's why Rafa doesn't fit Amorim's system. Cisse tends to over-dribble at times but he'll learn as he gets more playing time.

Very pleased with the win, except for the shaky defense toward the end and as expected we scored once the first two substitutions were made. Rabiot is indispensable for us wherever he plays, our undisputed top player. I'm also understanding why Musah looks to be ahead of jashari in the pecking order, endless running with top speed that looks under better control than previously, even if he occasionally screws up.

Chucku continues to impress but can't play the whole 90 at that pace, didn't play for us last season so him and Musah are new players this season, almost as if they were transfers. Jashari, imo, doesn't belong playing for Amorim, for one thing he's too slow and doesn't produce enough in terms of quantity among some of his other shortcomings

Gila confirmed what most of us thought, a fantastic CB very apt at advancing the ball and not settle for the easy solution, we haven't had someone like that in ages.

We can not have a starting 11 with El Stupid, RLC, De Winter, Jashari/Musah and expect to go far but survived today so it's all good.

Amorim did a masterful job with the subs, didn't wait forever like Allegri while his last one was out of necessity. Kudos to him and the club, Gerry must have been happy, and once everyone gets in shape we should be much better.
