Who says Jashari was bad? Jashari had a good game. Nothing spectacular, but very clean and composed: 46/49 passes completed (94%), including 18/19 in the opposition half and 4/5 long balls. He also produced two key passes despite playing from deep. That's exactly what I want from him – move the ball quickly, reliably and progressively without trying to force shit that isn't there. A quietly encouraging performance.

For comparison, Modric came on in the 56th and went 18/19 (95%) passes completed, including 4/5 long balls and one key pass. So Jashari basically matched Modric's passing accuracy while handling much more volume over the game. Obviously different minutes and game states, but that's pretty damn encouraging company to be in.

Im glad my feeling was correct. But through the game thread you can see people asking him to be sold and how long pass is his only weapon. Id say his long pass and transition passing are already elite, while he is solid at most other things. There is so much potential in him.

I keep hearing this, but if we cannot sell Leao, I think he'd thrive in the role that Cisse played today. Cisse got to float out wide when he wanted and attack the defense when he had the chance.

I like the kid, I like what I've seen, but until he scored, he wasn't being particularly effective. I felt this way after the Man Utd game. Of course, a goal changes everything, and I'm so happy for the kid and I'm rooting for him. I hope Mancini ignores him and forgets that he's Italian.

He's a young player, and while I would love for him to explode like El Shaarawy (without the injuries and all that) and we find ourselves with our new star boy who becomes our Yamal, I don't want to put that pressure on him, not yet.

Our LAM is not really an AM, it's a winger. Amorim is doing the asymmetrical thing with us, where his RWB is more of a winger, his LWB is more cautious, his RAM is more of an AM, this is what he did at Sporting.

I'm curious to see how Pulisic would do. I think what Cisse does well is that he takes responsibility and he wants the ball, he wants to try things. Leao does that. Pulisic is less comfortable in that role, he is the 2 in a 1-2 punch. Of course, we haven't seen Pulisic under Amorim yet, I hope he thrives.

If we sell Leao, then we need to take that money and put it into a CB. If there is some left over, get another LWB, because unless we see some Pervis redemption arc (would love it) we are going to suffer with Pervis and Pav on the same side.

Getting him on a favourable deal and shipping Pervis out would be very smart move. Then finish the CM with Hojbjerg and splash the rest of the available cash on top CCD (e.g. Dias if available?) and we're set for ingoings. Cheeky loan + option for Zirkzee and we're set.

I'd just keep Santi at this point, especially if the only offer on the table is a loan + option. He was scoring for fun in the Eredivisie for back-to-back seasons and did it in the CL too, even against Bayern Munich. There's clearly a player in there who can do good things, while at the same time he's still within striking distance for Camarda to genuinely challenge him and push each other for that back-up spot behind Ramos. And most importantly, Santi is already here. Keeping him costs us nothing, replacing him does – and I'd much rather spend whatever money we have left on actual pressing needs like a starting CCB.

Santi is literally the perfect backup CF for us

Regarding the mercato:

Nkunku out, this is a good news. The loan fee and the paid salary is approximately 15 mil euro cost reduction for us. But the loan fee is not enough to cover the amortization, so we will still have around 4 mil euro cost for Nkunku for this season.

The option at 30 mil is high - lets face it, Nkunku will back as an AC Milan player in 2027 June. Leipzig will not activate this clause, unless Nkunku has a monster season with 20 g+a, and plays like a 60 mil player. Nkunku is soon to be 29 years old, and to put the Leipzig modell into context, this random dude is their all-time most expensive signing over age 29:




They are buying young talented players, developing them, and selling them at a profit - they most likely see Nkunku as a relatively risk-free competition for Nusah and Bakayoko.

Our most pressing need is still LWB, because Amorim's interview confirms Moreria and Chuk are competing for the same spot. Mazraoui is not as versatile as most would think, in his career, he played 250 games on the right, and around 30 on the left. LWB can be covered by Salad, but it leaves us short of 1 AM.

We need 1 CB as well. What I like about Inacio is that he is capable to cover both CCB and LCB. His heatmap is somewhere in between Pavlovic and Gabbia. Inacio is one of the best CBs with the ball, a left-footed Gila.



If Leao leaves, we need 1 AM for sure. If Leao stays, we won't have the squad space for this signing. I don't want Leao to stay. Yesterday's match reminded me of the prime Pioli era, when we played our best with that deadly pressing. Calabria and Salad as a balancing right side, with the Theo-Rebic monster left side. Slight hot take: De Winter is imo better for the CCB role than the RCB role. He is decently agile for his size but I feel for RCB it could be more ideally and he isn´t that aggressive which lends itself more to the central role. CCB is often the second in line and not committing too aggressively can be a feature there.

RLC, Estupinan, Chuk and Terracciano need to be moved on. Perhaps more.

I already quoted this post, but I really want to highlight Musah's role at 0:14 here again. He was probably the player I've shit on more than almost anyone else pre-game. But credit where credit is due: he made me look pretty fucking stupid yesterday. If Amorim can consistently get this Musah, jesus. This move also perfectly shows what I love about Amorims philosophy. Musah receives the ball with his back to goal and two Torino players closing him down. The safe option is to pass backwards – the Torino players even anticipate it and start moving past him to press the expected receiver.

Under Allegri, that's the pass we make nine times out of ten. Instead Musah turns. Lose the ball there and we're in trouble. Get it right and suddenly two opponents are eliminated, the entire midfield opens up and seconds later we score. That goal is at leat 50% Musahs.

That's the thin margin between safety and risk. Allegri was obsessed with avoiding the counter; Amorim accepts that risk for what we can gain from it. And I fucking love it. Of course it'll sometimes backfire and cost us goals – that's football. As fans, we need to understand why these risks are being taken instead of crucifying everyone when they fail. That obsession with avoiding mistakes is exactly what has held Italian football back for decades, while progressive coaches like Gasperini and Fabregas are still treated with suspicion for daring to take risks.

That move surprised the hell out of me, didn't expect it at all, but if it failed we'd be here lambasting him instead of praising him. I think Musah was hurt by the few minutes given him at Atalanta and has worked extra hard to improve his play. Sometimes it's a matter of pride and hope he keeps it up.
