I am yet to see one good game from Ricci. Maybe it happens with us
He had a pretty good one for the Italian NT playing alongside Sandro.
It's almost like if he had better quality of players to play with, he could also excel.

Replace a wc player like Reijnders with some dumb Italian like Ricci. Truly a masterpiece by these Americunt owners. Finishing 8th wasn’t enough, they’re hell bent on dragging this team even lower.
Replacing Reijnders with Modric, Ricci, Jashari and possibly one more midfielder is an insane upgrade

I don't understand this sudden love for Loftus Cheek who's had 2 awful seasons and one decent one at Milan. Not only has he been bad but among the worst in the squad. Never seen a player as big as him be such a pussy on the pitch, get dispossed as often as he does, if you sneeze falls to the ground.

Ricci is not here to replace Deers but as one of the DM candidates which might or might not work, RLC has that duty, according to many predicted starting 11, a colossal downgrade. And I'm tired of hearing of his performance against PSG, so he had one really good match in 3 years, who cares? Also terrible defensively and kind of lazy on the pitch.

I don't post in game threads because find it distracting but read them the next day, and only if we win, and among the most criticized are Chuck, Musah, RLC, Theo, Royal. These are among the players that I want gone because they do more damage than good but now all of the sudden Ruben is our saviour.

Rlc is just one of those players who perform well under certain coaches. He did well with sarri and the coach at Crystal Palace Hodgson, that's about it.
I doubt allegri has a magic wand for this injury prone English bum

He's not fucking replacing Rejnders, they play entirely different positions. I'm tired of reading that shit when everyone in the world knows that Ricci is a defensive midfielder, in fact too defensive because played under coaches with no balls that just stayed back.

RLC is shit! If we could get 10m for him it would be good enough, I’d say sell!

I like Ricci, he’s not a spectacular player but he can be important to a team, as he is good in the build up from the defence and very good holding the ball under pressure, and he recuperates a lot of balls. A player like this we lacked bigtime last season.

It's really weird why he's getting love because management release a statement saying he's pivotal... It's like some can't really think for themselves and need to read sound bites to form an opinion on things.

Seriously though

What position is he good at?

Or whatever you want to call it. Good is not the term I would use

What position would allow him to a be serviceable system player?

I still don’t know ?

Nobody knows.

That's exactly how I view him, does the dirty work, not noticed much but very useful and protects the ball like a lion. I've seen him surrounded by 2/3 players and still find someone to pass the ball to. Stats won't impress because he's rarely in a position to assist or score but usually the one that initiates the play from deep in his own end, and If nothing else, he's not lazy or creates problems which is a welcome change.

I feel like these are the only players that they rate in the current team. Modric, CM, ST, RB, LB are incoming and confirmed by Tare. Maybe we already have enough to cover that with our current sales

Theyll probably also try to get something from the exits of: Royal, Musah, Bennacer, Adli, Chuck, Okafor, and Morata. I would probably add Bondo, Pobega, and Colombo in there too.

CM: Jashari, Ricci, Xhaka, Guerra
ST: Vlahovic, unknown
RB: unknown
LB: unknown
Winger: unknown

I would expect at least 2 more mids if Musah leaves, or 3 if they manage to sell Bennacer and Adli. New winger depends on if they can sell Chucky and Okafor.
Tare was very clear that we need a DM, who will play in front of the defense in a 433. That's not Modric. I think Modric will be one of the side midfielders, rotating alongside RLC, Fofana and someone like Jashari. The player in the middle will be Ricci and/or Xhaka. That seems really clear to me, and a good mix for Allegri.

Seems like a lot of players will be offloaded and we'll get to keep a smaller more compact squad:

In:

1 Maignan
2 Sportiello

3 Gabbia
4 Thiaw
5 Tomori
6 Pavlovic

7 ?? Tiago Santos
8 Jimenez
9 Terracciano

10 ?? De Cuyper
11 Bartesaghi

12 ?? Xhaka
13 ?? Ricci

14 Modric
15 Fofana
16 RLC
17 Bondo
18 ?? Jashari

19 Pulisic
20 Saelemaekers

21 Leao
22 Okafor

23 Gimenez
24 ?? Vlahovic

Out:

Reijnders
Adli
Bennacer
Pobega
Chukwueze
Theo
Emerson
Florenzi
Walker
Musah
Sottil
Colombo
Morata

I think its either Guerra or Jashari. Either of them to rotate with RLC.
- Guerra is cheaper but more complicated. Valencia is getting a new CEO and they want to renew the player. Apparently could be unlocked jn July.
- Jashari, Brugge wants 35-40M which we could use for two players. Probably the better player from the two currently, but arguably not worth the price.

Ricci imo is the Fofana sub. And its probably why we supposedly tried to add Bondo to the deal. Like for like trade positionally.

Logically Xhaka and Modric should both play in the center but at their age and level I doubt either one of them would like to be second option. If we had Champions league games it would make more sense. I would like both of them to join.

Out of all the things that Tare said that's the only one that I disagree with. Fortunately Ruben will probably get injured after a couple of matches and we won't have to worry about him.

Milan, Arokodare enters the casting: a “wardrobe” for Allegri

Hunting for the number nine: the 2000-born striker plays for Genk, the club where Tare, during his time at Lazio, had discovered Milinkovic-Savic

@PietroMazzara

he is top scorer in Belgian league

I think Allegris deep mid is always a playmaker, I dont think Ricci is that. Plus at his age I would say it makes sense to play Modric there like a protected player ala Pirlo.

Why are most people thinking Modric in the center? I really don't see that happening. It's either Xhaka or Ricci there, not Modric.

Ricci is not a purely defensive midfielder either. I don't understand where this image of him is coming from. He's a good press resistant midfielder that can help you systematically move the ball out of your buildup under pressure. Same as Xhaka. They're both well rounded that they can do that and offer a lot of coverage and keep the ball moving cleanly when in possession. This is exactly what Bennacer does too.

I don't think Modric at almost 40 years old, will have the engine to do all that. I honestly don't even think Modric will start the majority of games for us. He's here to be a leader and play anywhere between 60 to 30 minutes each week. We can't build our midfield around him, that's insane.

We are hyping him up to increase his value before he is sold (I hope)

Tare please give Allegri his wardrobe. I want to see filthy football like Mandzukic LW. Win at all costs.

Corto muso.

allegri won the league with this

maybe modric can be the seedorf type
fofana the gattuso
xhaka the van bommel

the major difference is

no killer striker like ibra
no nesta and t silly

pulisic can maybe play as a cam who drifts wide
or plays like a robinho

no prince type player

but for the central mod
it feels we have what allergi can work with

It's like you knew who Reijnders was before he joined us. You must have said the same thing about him before he came to us. Ricci is a good player in his position, but he's not a replacement for Reijnders. We also had a good team, but because some individuals are unmotivated, it's hard to achieve the goal.

But then Reijnders actually did well with us, became pivotal in this pathetic club. We sold Tonali and, to be fair, did a decent job replacing him with Reijnders. And even with that, we still ended up in 8th place. Now the cycle repeats: sell a key player, sign a nobody, and pray he turns out good. If that’s not the definition of a stepping-stone club, I don’t know what is.
