I think he did a solid job as a second choice.

Exactly.
There are very, very few clubs out there with two great keepers and the reason for that is because it's a poor economic and sporting choice as one will have to sit on the bench and become unhappy (i.e. PSG with Navas and Donnarumma).
Liverpool have Adrian, for example. Man City have Steffen. Both are not great keepers, with Adrian being single-handedly responsible for many of Liverpool's defeats over the past two years.

Looks like his watch has ended. Very unfortunate error against Fiorentina but overall he did great. Some top saves in UCL and derby. Grande Tata
