Messi will be paid an annual salary of $41 million at PSG.

But in the first 24 hours of his arrival, the club has already sold 832,000 jerseys, bringing in ~$105 million in revenue.

The club keeps around 10%, so that's $10.5 million in profit on the first day.

PSG have a 10% of all kit sales agreement?

No way

Sky: Milan-Roma contacts regarding Florenzi are not going in one direction. Dalot and Odriozola are still targeted by ACM.

I get not wanting to overspend but do they think everyone is going to hand their players over for free? What?s the point of making top 4 if you aren?t willing to spend a little lol.

The club doesn't usually get much

I imagine Messi would get a decent chunk though

PSG have a massive kit agreement but they do not get 10% of all kit sales

I do not believe that is how it works for any club

Yeah, it's going to be quite profitable.
There was the same talk around when Florentino Perez bought the second galacticos but it all paid for itself and then some (specially CR7).

Even though PSG is in a very problematic League and they're kinda lame compared to the football culture in Spain (like, so far they can't even come up with a term like Galacticos so far) they're going to make mad money with Neymar Messi and Mbappe.

They have a massive deal yeah, its like 80m a year or something

Which is a lot lol

I can't imagine they get a decent chunk of shirt sales as well, most clubs don't

832,000 is a bs figure. You ppl shud know better, they're VS numbers.

The store came out and said it was bs when the rumour was for 250,000.

Neymar numbers were 10,000... double or triple it for Messi.

800.000 Jerseys of Messi have been sold since his arrival in PSG.

A total of ?125M.

Read somewhere that Messi was behind 30% of Barca's income.
He averaged 2mil shirt/season.
Totally insane....
And then you have people but but but Maldini never asked for bigger wages.

I was just reading about this. He was making Barcelona 20-30M per season on shirt sales alone. 80% of the shirts Barcelona sold had the 10 and his name behind.

Now Nike has a big problem cause all the stores are returning the shirts

Sorry I meant why does R&B not like Insigne. He seems like a fairly competent player. I have never seen anything in particular in him that makes me not want him. I would totally welcome him here.

Well to start he's a tiny itty bitty gnome. 25 mil? He's half that

We cud embrace Florentino Perez and his ESL novelty again... with minor changes.

What‽???? Did your account get hacked or something? You furiously fought me over ESL. You didn't want ESL.

FFP is already a disaster and this revenue linked proposal would just make it worse.

Flat salary cap or none at all

Totally agree. This bullshit proposal from UEFA makes City and PSG even more powerful. They can play around with revenues while everybody else can't. F.ck off UEFA. We are not stupid.

Corrupted body. US Justic Dept. Should bring corruption charges against these crooks.

RIP Football!!! Football is for EPL and PSG.

Our revenue is >200m
with 70% salary cap we are allowed to spend around 140m on salaries
Currently our gross salary bill around 90m
We can spend 50m more
How is it bad for us?

Compare ours with PSG's. PSG can infuse any $ as revenue. We can't do that.

Under the planned system, clubs in European competition would be limited to spending a fixed percentage of their revenue — possibly 70 per cent — on salaries. Any clubs breaching the cap would have to pay a luxury tax, under which the equivalent or more of any overspend would go into a pot to be redistributed.

our revenue in the last season according to forbes was 165mil dollars which is approx 140 mil euros.
our wage bill last season was 90mil gross (but take away dollar at 6 and kebab at 3.5, add maignan, ballo-toure, giroud..lets say our wage bill is similar atm), that would make it 64% of our total revenues.

keep in mind that revenues this season should be much higher due to CL, new sponsors etc so i think we have enough room to operate

Think multiple years. Just don't think this year.

Even this year. Suppose you are right. Imagine Chelsea's room????? In a few years, we have a flat, they have mansions and golf courses

Really the only counter to this UEFA Corruption is disadvantaged clubs form and unite together and form their own competition. It is not perfect but it is the most effect to give the middle finger to Ceferin

So the idea is:

Remove FFP
Clubs can invest as much as they want?

Add Salary Cap
This will stop players from leaving for free to earn higher salaries?

Still it will not work, just like FFP that did not work.

Who are the disadvantaged clubs?

Real Madrid monopoly or the 6 Premier League clubs?

Anything coming from them is trash.

He?s a little piece of shit compared to Maldini.

He was making 70M/year AND evading taxes.

Do you know about other models in different sports?

Would need some sort of repeater/luxury tax put in if they?re going to that model. Would the extra money go to the domestic league or UEFA/CL clubs? Would need to find a way to split it amongst the opponents of said clubs?.domestically and abroad.

Actually, if Messi has his own company and Barca kinda "outsourcing" messi, the tax could be much lower.

Is it allowed in the world of football?

Idk, maybe all the brightest accountant was already hired for this kind of shit but just didnt work somehow

We are. We have been disadvantaged for so long. Stop playing devils advocate. You know it yourself. We are being disadvantaged. We can't spend more than our revenue. While PSG simply raises the revenue to any number they want.

Stop playing devils advocate with me.

Maldini: ?I've always said it: Financial Fair Play has done good for football because there is less debt, but it has widened the gap between the big clubs and those who want to invest and get back into the competition.?

Maldini: ?We have charges which are around a quarter or a fifth of those of the winning clubs in Europe. It's almost mathematical, between income and results. Milan have the same income they had in 2000, just to make you understand.?

I think this is what they sort of do. You create a shell company and through that company you create a fictional account of income and losses and that way you minimize tax pretty sure that is what all footballers and rich dudes want. Like Trump for example when they asked him if he pays taxes. He the individual probably pays very little tax. But his companies would need to pay millions. They would just be the minimum amout. Still millions tho.

I dont care SuperLeague or not. I propose all clubs have exactly the same revenues. We can then compete on on same level.

Funny thing is, based on what i've learned (and its very little), there are ways of evading multimillion tax, for example by reinvesting the money or just by using it for RnD and many others.

But as far as i know, the way those clubs paying taxes (almost double nett) they havent doing much.

again, i could be wrong.

Most of my friends in finance told me that atheletes, actor, performars kinda straight forward with what they got. Only a handful, with the help of specialized accountant, manages to do the extra work yet save (or gain) much more.
