MILAN - Corriere dello Sport-Stadio focuses on captain Paolo Maldini: 'I can't find a reason for the hisses we received last evening. What do people - some of our supporters - claim from us? We are top of our group and close to the last eight. In the league we are two points behind leaders. We will play the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals. What do they want more than this? We must admit that the boys of the Curva Sud respect, love and always cheer us up. The hisses and the criticism come from the most prestigious stands. It's unbelievable.'
I clearly think that Maldini is right...
We are never satisfied - even if they might win it all this year...
For SOOOOO long have we been waiting for the perfect team to regain the glory in our hearts - and as it seems to come true, all we do is complaining...
C'mon - it's unfair...
I personally think that we SHOULD support them to the bitter end - Players are not robots who sometimes does the right thing, and sometimes not - The players have feelings too ... and it gives a bad effect to whistle at them, instead of supporting them...
Of course we ABSOLUTELY CAN'T be satisfied with a 5-0 defeat in the Cl-final to Real for instance if we go this far, but to believe in your team for the intire 90 minutes on the pitch, is to effect the players to believe in themselves for 90 minutes... ;)
I'm not mad about it ... But think about it! :)
Forza Milan!!! [/quote]

Yeah, ok, I admit, I share the attitudes of many of therse fans, which is evident by my non-stop Harassment of JDT, and I agree, the team has played its best football this season outta of the last 7 or 8 seasons. But you have to understand, this club, the club YOU have chosen to support is not only a G14 club, they are also one of the most storied clubs in the annals of UEFA. Only 1 other team can boast about winning as many as 5 euro cups. The Expectations of the Milanista should be high, and results are expected. I am going to stay away from money in this post, but just know this.......at this level, the Serie A.......you are paid to win.......nothing else. The days of backyard excitement and thrill are not completely lost, but getting results, producing on the pitch, and winning accolades is what it is all about on this level.

I know I am critical of my team and some of its players. As a fan, I deserve this right.....

Other than this, keep up the good work boys.......We should bring some sort of hardware to Milan this season.......Let's just hope Leverkusen's fate of last year doesn't mirror ours this year (i.e.......finishing second in everything)

I know - I've been a supporter since 1993, and know main-parts of their history like Gre-No-Li and The Flying Dutchmen! ;) :) ;)

There is just ONE thing left...
Why did U whistle at Rui Costa against L.Moskva then, despite his phenonemal assist and good efforts?

Forza Milan! :devil3:

First off, I thought Rui played rather well vs Lokomotiv. Everything and anything that was remotely creative in the first half came off of his boots. I admit, from the pub in Ajaccio where I was on that night, I was indeed doing a little more than whistling @ Jon Dahl Tomasson. He found a way to blow two spectacular chances, and the only reason I am taking it easy on him, is because he did indeed find the winner. :)

this will be a problem.... fans whistled, the players attacked back by comments... just when everything was going to a good direction we got screwed again... i just hope this wont affect the players' form...
the main cause was becoz we lacked victory recently and being entertained with lots of goals in the beginning of the season made the fans want more and more entertaining games... and dont forget we r behind inter (curse them!! hehe)... in the CL, of course we r not in trouble instead we still maintain the lead by 100% record... i didnt watch the game but i think the fans needed to be a little bit more patient and also the players should realize that we (the fans) really put a lot of hopes on their shoulders...
believe me it doesnt feel good being whistled, i know that becoz i had the same experience of being whistled by the crowd...

I get the wanting to be entertained part. I mean, the Lokomotiv Moskva match was a *let down* comparing to the Nazio match - especially the second half. But, to me, when you play a *defensive clinging* squad like Loko, it is expected to be a bore to watch. I expect the same thing next tuesday. We've seen those type of matches before and we'll see them again. The players did their best under the circumstances.

Sure, I'm critical of the teams that I root for in every sport but I thought the hissing was uncalled for, especially to Rui.

I think we should be expecting to see domination, rather than close and rather unexciting wins like we are seeing at the moment. Being one of the most prestigious clubs in history of the game, and having a squad, that on paper is only second to the "Galaxy of Superstars" being Real Madrid, and portraying a style of football unique and trademarked by our team - we deserve great victories, instead of these pathetic 1-0 results weve come to expect.. however i dont think we should be critical and boo our players, even though there performance may have been unspectacular, it just makes the players feel bad and unsupported by their fans, which leads to a lack of motivation for the games to come. Sometimes we forget that our squad of superstars are only Human, and go through their ups and downs, at the moment we seem to be coming off a down. Weve already proved that we can produce highly spectacular football with incredible results (you dont beat Deportivo everyday at their home 4-0), and i think we can still produce that kind of football for the rest of the season.. but if thats going to happen, the fans that attend the games should not give up on their team like they did against Loko, or they can kiss their title hopes adeus..

Yes very true!
Hate to be annoying but it IS just a sport sure theres lots of money and lives involved but to heckle and such at players because they might be having an off day... that is a shame.
And until one of us plays in a pro squad then we dont know what its like. I trust in Maldini :D

How come no-body mentions the chance Pippo missed in the dying second of the game? He was 2 meters from goal, no defenders and he shoots straite at the keeper!!!!!!! My grandmother could have scored that goal... infact, my deceased grand- grand- grandmother could have scored it. I don´t heard you cry out about him. But who cares, anybody can miss a chance...

I totally agree that we should support our players no matter what, through thick and thin, and that why I find this shit pathetic. Becourse JDT is new or not Italian or what ever?!? It just pisses me of

Well... I can suggest you this reason...
(but it's my reason... I don't wanna force your hand)

Well...
During last 9 CL games of this season PIPPO scored 11 times so....
Pippo, if you missed that (mentioned fm Vernetti) chance or a few others...
I FORGIVE YOU!!! ;)

guys, let me tell you, you're making it a little too bigger than it really is.
oz is right: maldini is the captain and one of his duties is that to protect his 'crew' ... so he did it.
but the hissing at the milan vs lokomotiv match wasn't in the general direction of the whole team; it was basically only for rui costa and that's a long story coming from last year's flop ... although milan supporters are generally known in italy for being hot and very supportive (unlike inter's for example ... wonder why :D ), and that's a fact, s.siro is no longer very patient with rui.
i agree with you that the most 3/4 interesting things of that match came from his feet (including the assist for pippo, then finalized by tomasson), but there were also bad passes and wrong choices (mainly because he was playing LW with rivaldo and pirlo, which doesn't suit him at all, imho) and s.siro (except brigate and fossa) are no more keen on forgiving his third mistake, as they do with all other players ... simple as that!
plus rui is the kind of player who needs to feel THE star of the team and this year in milan that is a bit difficult!

I think that what happend on the match against Lokomotiv was not right. We all know how wonderful was Rui playing in the beginning of this season, and no one can forget that.In last matches i admitt that he was playing bad and he was making a lot of mistakes but every player has his own bad periods. The supporters should support and help him and not to jeer. They should help him and in that case he will have bigger motivation to play good match. Now he can be only disappointed and sad. That is not the right attitude.

Btw yes Pippo missed 100% chance and i still can't understand how was that possible.....he should have scored that goal....

Great information m8, this kind of information i really need...
But, whether rui play good or not, we would be better to support him..
