So let me get this staright, someone asked a questions and you gave them the wrong info. So I gave them the correct info, and all of a sudden I'm the bad guy to you because I'm not nice enough about it.
Well through out my entire life including the year or 2 I've been helping out on the site. When I want people to do something and am nice about it, what needs to get done dosen't get done, because people think of it as a friendly suggestion instead of as instructions.
Let take avatars for example. When people's are too big and I send them a PM that says, "I like your avatar, but it is too big. Can you please make it smaller." Only 1 in 10 actually does it, but when I send a PM that says, "If you don't remove your avatar or make it smaller we are going to disable you from having one or ban you from the site." Then it gets done and done quickly.
I don't want to be mean or abrupt with people, but people force me to be. When I'm in charge of something I take it seriously, so when I want something done I expect it to be done and done correctly and being nice usually dosn't get things done. It's to bad because this world would be a much better place if it
did work that way, but it dosen't.
Like David said what's the difference between speaking and not speaking like a robot in a forum? The abundance of smilies? I sorry I upset you because you gave the wrong information out and I corrected you.
Does this make you feel better?:
2. What warmth said is not true. The only person that can change your user name is David, scharatz and I. I belive the function to change your own user name was disconnected as people would just change it all the time and things would get confusing.
