:D Ba is the heart and soul of this team (at least in his dreams!) :D Besides his many talents (which so many of us have discussed in other threads), Ba has to be one of the most talked about players in the forums...thanks to Juninho Paulista! :devil2:

I think every great team should have one Ibrahim Ba just to help keep our feet on the ground and as proof that hey, if Ba can play for Milan, maybe some of us could too! :D

Ba is unquestionably the most interesting Milan player, actually, player period. It appears as if this man has totally forgot how to play football, but due to contractual obligations he is on the roster of one of the worlds biggest clubs. I mean, this is truly great.......The worlds economy. He signed a contract that was full of guarenteed money. Therefore, if Milan terminate his contract they would probably have to pay it in full, so the Milan management team thought, well, lets keep this guy around and he can serve many different duties.......Because I joke all the time about this, but I am sure Ba has cleaned the Milanello complex once or twice in his Milan stint. I almost want to call him "Ibrahim Boucher." In reference to the "Waterboy" cinema with Adam Sandler. (Coincidence how Boucher is a French name :D ). So, essectially he is here, and wait for his contract to expire, at which time he can write a book and make millions about how he traveled all over the world with Milan and rooked the system......

Man.......you have to love the global economy :)

Hehe an inquirer about the Ibrahim cult..

Yes Ba is quite an enigma.. he used to be a talented up and comer in France.. even gettting 8 caps for the French team, so Milan bought him, then he went downhill. We loaned him out to Marseille? twice, and twice he failed to regain the prodigious "talent" he once showed..

My personal opinion is that once he decided to stop dying his hair blonde, his skills disappeared!

Anyway Ibrahim is generally linked with the menial office and hospitality duties of the club... i can invisage him in an apron with a duster in hand polishing off Milan's many trophies :D

;) ;) ;) sssssshhhh, "all the talk about ba" is part of a PR campaign milan has launched to bring to a prospective buyers attention the versatility and unique qualities of mr. ba - qualities which set him apart from the average player on the transfer market. these qualities have been discussed here in detail and include but are not limited to cooking [diet + ethnic], serving beverages and snacks, housekeeping in a french maid uniform, speedpeeling apples, oranges + bananas, lighting cigarettes, cigarillos + cigars, physiotherapeutic + sensual massage techniques [references available courtesy of <youknowwhoyouare>], hairstyling, valet parking, go go dancing, escort/socialite service and dog walking. a comprehensive list of mr. ba's numerous talents and skills is available upon request. ;) ;) ;)

on a more serious note: could anyone "in the know" possibly enlighten me as to what incident/event exactly kickstarted the downward spiral for him?

i *suspect* he has never quite come to terms with getting kicked out of the french national team at clairefontaine prior to the 1998 world cup - a fate he shared with anelka, djetou, laigle, letizi and lamouchi at that time. until then, he had been hailed as one of the many young new talents with a promising career ahead...

You forgot pool boy, gardener, manicures, pedicures, make-up artist, waxer, personnal shopper, personnal nurse, accounting... Ah! So many services, so little time to point them all out... He can type 150 words a minute BTW.

Although I wholeheartedly recommend his dog walking services, I do regret taking his advice by taking one my dogs to the groomer. What can I say? I trusted a man who had a contract with a modeling agency.

I'm led to believe to this reason also. I don't remember what was the *reason* that Aimé Jaquet kicked him out of les Bleus but perhaps seeing them winning the WC must've broken his heart or done something to his psychie. Maybe that "Sexiest Foreign player in Italy" award got to his head and then, one look at Valderrama...

Everything went downhill after that particular summer. Less playing time with Milan. Then on loan to Perugia, went nuts and punched an opposing player, got a season-ending knee injury. There was that botch deal with Newcastle, I believe et failed the medical. Etc etc etc...

Perhaps he also regrets leaving Bordeaux...

--- well, jacquet had called up a 28-man squad to clairefontaine, just in case so. got injured or lost form. 6 of them wouldn't make it to the world cup squad. robby briefly described that evening in his book:

>>... the younger players, like me, weren't aware that our international futures were on the line. at the end of may we had to endure a very difficult evening...[...] i was on the ground floor of the main building when six of my team mates strode past dressed in civvies. i asked them what they were doing. 'the coach called us together and saw us one by one in his office...' almost in tears, they told the rest of us that they were not going to be taking part in the tournament. they were trying to order taxis to take them back to paris. [...] nicolas anelka, ibrahim ba, martin djetou, pierre laigle, lionel letizi and sabri lamouchi disappeared that night. [...] i felt sorry for them all. [...] they had half an hour to pack their bags and that was it, their dream was over. <<

TRAUMATIZED?

hm, who would have thought soccerplayers are such an oversensitive bunch... ;)
