Drive was sick.
Its been a while since I was as impressed.
Genuine way of directing the movie & play the music.
This Gosling remind me a lot of Christian Bale , dont know why.
He caught my eye in the movie Fracture.
I liked all the actors to be honest & the girls are amazingly real + attractive.

Looking back when I watched Thor , WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!!!!!

Javier Bardem :proud:

I like this quote very much. Guess the movie, without Google.

"Most people live life on the path we set for them, to afraid to explore any other... but once in a while people like you come along and knock down any obstacles we put in your way. People who realise free will is a gift you never know how to use until you fight for it. I think that's the chairman's real plan, and maybe one day, we won't write the plan. You will."

Spot on Sage.

Watching Resident Evil: Afterlife for the second time, now..such an audiovisual experience..and it's not on a 3D device!!!

Was well directed and shot, great storyboarding, post-production..almost perfect cinematography. Dialogue and acting were so-so, but that doesn't take away nada. So...

Create a dil-dil'esque game thread. Shouldn't pollute the movie thread.

(though it would be gradually better than dil-dil games)

Watched '13' where Jason Statham played a character named Jasper. That was pretty much all there was to watch. SHould have watched Drive once again or sth.

Should documentaries have separate thread? Going to watch Shahtjor one tomorrow if I have time. Meanwhile:

That's not really fair. Tbh I never viewed The Hangover as the "omg funniest movie ever" that people kept saying it was, it was good of course but the 1st watch was the best. After that when I re-watch it again or watched part II, there is no suspense and I think suspense is what got people hooked in the first place. I don't know it's just my opinion and I still like both parts and think they're funny, but that's my explanation to people complaining about part II. I think it was exactly the same as the first one, just in a different country with a different dilemma.

I didn't really view the first movie as you did. I had alot of lol moments, but never really got caught up in the story or had any real sympathies for any of the characters. In the second part there were just so many things I didn't buy so I really didn't care for the story and I didn't really catch my self laughing either, so wasn't really a great movie experience for me. Good you liked it though, guess people just see things differently.

to be honest, it's hard to watch 2nd hangover and not feel cheated.

1st one was original. 2nd one, while funny, was sooo formulaic. I mean literally they essentially changed the scenes and punch lines but followed exact same formula

I saw Killer Elites or something like that... my friend told me its a De Niro movie so that + the title convinced me but the movie turned out to be complete SHITE. First of all, De Niro only features in 5% of the movie, and its your typical Jason Statham movie where he is so cool and can get away with anything, and then you have everyone killing each other but for some reason they have to drop a cool one liner before they do it, giving the victim just enough time to manouver his way and fall out of the building and survive crap...

Basically, im tired of watching this boring super cool effects crap, I want to watch something more like Full Metal Jacket, a very clean and tidy movie, with no hidden messages, but at the same time keeps you thinking and discovering new things.

Seriously is there any director today who can come close to Kubrick's achievements?

About other movies from your post I agree about Van Wilder and Thank You For Smoking. Also howcome you don't like The Departed mu

As I wrote I saw the asian version first. Departed is good but more like a ok cover of a fnatastic song - sometimes you like it but mostly prefer the original. IIRC I thought 'Mou gaan Dou' was unfolded better or the actors were better showing their complexed characters. There was something about the end as well that made a stong difference in my mind but I can't remember. Check it out to make your own judgement - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/

Don't forget Scarlett. :D

I thought it was great but that whole Jackman machine thing was disappointing. A bit unrealistic. Anyway I'm torn about which one is better between it and The Illusionist. Granted I haven't watched The Illusionist in over a year so should probably re-watch it soon.

The end was the best. The film as built on 'what is going on';'what magic does he do'. And just as you think it's a realistic flick comes the bang. Again IIRC.

The Illusionist pretty much only focus on the love story whereas Prestige focus more on the magic itself but ofc also the persons involved and most sane human beings should prefer the latter one. Yeah I know, The Prestige is very mainstream compared to The Illusionist, but who cares when it's far more enjoyable and I bet even the artsy people secretly prefer it.

Spoiler:
Loved the cinematography of The Illusionist, but the fact the tricks looked so unrealistic and never got explained because of a bullshit reason like "that's irrelevant to the story" made the whole movie silly for me.

So,The Perfect Host is a great movie in the first 2 acts then falls apart like no other in the third.I really dont understand why they made Warwick a cop,but not just a cop one that was on John`s case.Like really???

Also if Warwick really did just mess with the victims heads and not actually kill them, wouldn't any one of them step forward by now? Also how dumb is that cop to just go to his house LOL.

And what`s Warwick gonna do with him?His not gonna kill as he does not fit his pattern.Whats he gonna do scare him so hard that he will keep this a secret all his life?Bull shit.

Conan The Barbarian. The first one was crap, the second was the same.Glad i didn't pay any money for this crap fest.

I wish they would start making epic war movies again, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy or Kingdom of heaven or so on.
