Agree that 25-30 mil seems like the most reasonable price for Pato atm (and it would still be a bit high), but like Shiby said, with this crazy market we can totally increase his price tag, at the end of the day it's a matter of selling him as a 22 year old, with still lots of potential, that has already made some wonderful goals at the Bernabeu, at the Nou Camp, and has done damage in the Milan derby. I still think we can bring other teams (aka Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona) into this.

If you shell out big time on a youngster like we did on Pato, two scenarios make sense.
You either cash in on the player after a couple of years, which would be getting around 40 mil in Pato's case. Or you cash in differently, by profiting from the players development.

We fuckin' bought him for 22m

Where the fuck is the logic in selling him for the exact same amount?

Logic of silly people.

Buy a 17 year old for 22m.

He scores 51 in 110.

Sell him for 22m when he's 22 years old.

Do you see how ridiculous this is?

He's been unfortunate with injuries and form BECAUSE of these injuries.

Just because he doesn't work with Ibra we should not sell him. Well definitely not for the horrendous amounts some of you are proposing and accepting anyway.

Come on man, he's a huge risk for Milan. This isn't about him not gelling with Ibra..
He's been here for 4 years and he hasn't improved at all, if anything he regressed.
Do you really believe he is 'unfortunate' with the injuries? He injures hisself more than oponents do. There's something about the way he runs, I don't know..
Fact is that he's been here for 4 years, hasn't improved at all been injured half of the time, there are no signs at all that he won't get injured this frequently etc etc.
Now his value is still high. You can easily get 50 mil for him nowadays with the insane amounts of money in football.
Ofcourse there's a chance he'll explode somewhere else, but this Milan in current days just can't afford to take the risk.

Having Ibra, Robinho, Cassano (and Tevez?) in your squad also makes it a little bit easier to let go of him ofcourse.

Don't get the wrong idea tho, I love Pato. But for me Milan>Pato.
And I think Milan could use 50 mil more than a Pato that is out injured 50% of the time and doesn't improve at all.

Selling Pato for 22mil? Where is the point. For 22 mil that we would get for him we can´t even upgrade our team. For that amount it´s better if he stays.

40+? That´s a different story.

27 year old who has had issues with every single club he's ever played for, is cup tied, and hasn't trained in months? SIGN HIM!

22 year old who is starting striker for Brazil, tied last season with Ibra for most league goals, and one of the highest rated young strikers in the world? SELL SELL SELL!

Sometimes you guys REALLY confuse me. :fp:

The only way I would sell Pato is if an offer of 80-90m came in. I'm dead serious. We're building this club around Pato and Thiago Silva. We need him.

Look at how much freaking Carrol was paid, and then an out of form Torres who was anyway having trouble with injuries..Also, Pastore and Sanchez each had only one good season (and even then they weren`t all that consistent) and they went for 40m.

Now why would we even consider anything below 40-45m? It`s not reasonable, but all the players today are valuated twice as much as they should be..

In a market where an unproven Pastore is worth 42 million Pato surely is worth more then 25-30 million, probably somewhere in the 40-50 range. Since he still is young and has an excellent strike rate.

And of the names you mentioned only tevez is gonna go for under 40 million since he's mental, but neymar is gonna go for 50 something and Higuain is probably worth 40 something. You gotta remember its and inflated market now a days (blame Madrid and the Oil Sheiks)

How was Pastore unproven? He was a beast for Palermo. Basically ran the show. He's proved much more than Pato, that's for sure. Consistency, potential and ability is what's important. Pastore has showed an abundance in all those areas. Pato's showed things, but not quite as much.

Scoring on Madrid and Barcelona is only relevant for fans. No person in charge of transfers is gonna sit there and go: Only plays half the matches due to injuries? Scored on Madrid and Barca!? Sign him up!

I know you didn't claim that but it seems a lot of people on this forum have a weird definition of "proven". In reality Pato has proven very little since you bought him.

Also, being injuryprone is probably the biggest no-no when considering buying a player, and a factor that drastically lowers the price. I agree it wouldn't make sense for Milan to sell for 22, since that's what you bought him for. You obviously overpaid for such a young unproven player. I mean Pato hadn't even scored much, if anything, in the Brazilian Serie A when you bought him. You paid for his potential, which was huge, and still is. However, there has to be doubts whether he'll ever reach it at this point considering his injury problems.

40-50 is really just wishful thinking. If he plays two seasons without injuries while netting 20-25 goals a season then maybe that would be realistic.

Well said.

Pastore is consistent?

For Palermo, he was. Dunno about PSG. Not a model of consistency but not injuryprone and in and out of form either. Slumps here and there, but also showed a high level.

Nope.

He had a couple months of top form. A couple months of crap form. Rinse. Repeat

No different from Pato really. Except he got hurt less and was less of a Coco

You really think Allegri would give SES92 playing time if we sold Pato? I doubt it. The kid doesn't even get playing time when we're up by 3 or 4.

You equate form with scoring I take it. If so, then yes, he didn't score consistently. I don't put as much emphasis on it when it's a player that runs the show for his team. Very different from Pato.

Now we're talking! :D Back to the Nintendo gibberish. It's unsettling when someone uses his correct name.

Pato would 'run the show' if he was playing for Palermo as well. :g:

Nah. He would be the main striker. He couldn't run the show.

Nope. I watched plenty of Palermo. We're not gonna agree on this. You're someone who thinks Ibra was horrible the second part of last season, I'm someone who thinks despite not scoring, and being out with suspensions, he will still your best player most of the time he played, for the same reason Pastore was consistent for Palermo.

Leading the team from all offensive aspects, or more of them than any other player on it.

But Ibra is Milan's main striker yet he 'runs the show'.

Yeah yeah I get it, different players. But still your argument makes no sense. If you think Pastore was good for Palermo because he was their best player based on quality, then for sure Pato would shine for them as well as he's a class above all their players in history.

But the main point is that Pastore is inconsistent. Forget goals or youtube compilations. He dominated some games yet was a mere spectator in others. As Senny said, just like Pato but with less injuries.

Inter you are wrong on this one. Ibra did stink it up the second half of last season and really wasnt decisive. He gave the team confidence because of his aura but his play was very poor.

On Pastore, he usually started well and then disappears for most of the season. Also to say he ran the show is kind of mis-information, they played well on the break and when he has space he is nice but when teams pack it in like against Milan his play isnt that inventive or decisive.

On Pato's price - Balotelli went for 30 and his cv was utter rubbish to Pato's with behavioural problems. Anything under 45 is a joke because of the market and the only way he leaves is if he forces his way out.

If Milan sell then we are more than broke and if we are why would we take on Tevez salary???

I don't agree. At their best, and also for the duration of a season, I would take Pastore over Pato any day of the week. In fact, if I was in charge of transfers at Milan, I would trade Pastore for Pato if I could. Just what this Milan team needs.

Furthermore, to say he has more class tnan any player in their history is such a funny comment I don't even know what to say

I disagree, but who cares really. It's about Pato no? Maybe back on topic..

That's like saying I would take Xabi Alonso over Vertonghen. Only less ridiculous. :D Two different players with different roles and positions.

Sir yes sir.
