I can't say I would have a problem with Allegri being fired. Last year he won the Scudetto in Mancini fashion with by far the strongest squad in a weak Italy. This year, he faced stronger competition and failed miserably (choking away a four point lead against Serie A's worst clubs).

What I do have a problem with is that Galliani and his Senatores will remain. If Milan had the scouting network and management of Udinese instead of Galliani and all of his old pals, we would be in much better shape. Instead, Berlusconi will make Allegri the fall guy, Galliani will persist, and we will not see any investment in this club as Galliani's Milan will continue to produce record losses.

Exactly. The point is that if we lose this scudetto, it won't be Allegri's fault anyway, what with the mediocre squad and the injuries. If the management fires him for not winning the scudetto, it just shows us that they don't even recognize the real problems in the club and are just looking for someone to take the blame.

I really like Allegri personally, but more importantly, I would like us to have some continuity. Keep him, build the squad to his specifications and let him do his job, and I'm sure he can bring us all the way to the top again. Berlu's ego won't let us have that, I'm afraid.

Yeah, I think he (Allegri) is at fault for a lot of the things that went wrong in our Scudetto campaign; however, he is far from the main culprit.

Anyway, it would be classic Berlusconi/Galliani to bring Capello, who has seen the game completely pass him by in the last decade, to replace a younger manager that is not a yes man. Those two are more to blame than anyone else BY FAR.

If it were me in charge, I would shit can Galliani, Braida, and the rest of our scouting network long before Allegri.

Galliani is the one that put this club in the position it is in as a perennial financial black hole, and yet he will remain this summer to build a grand new Milan with Traore, Montolivo, Acerbi, and co.

agreed.

It's deluded to think this is his fault.

We need to fix the squad first, then properly judge him.

Capello would be a disaster and an expensive one , he is old with old ideas and would not work.

Its not his fault.......solely

But he must accept some blame.

Shouldnt be fired and should be at least given 1-2 players he wants.

Capello would work - we would play even more ugly football than now, we would grind out the title and then Silvio will fall out with him and fire him.

League is his speciality, tournaments, not in my opinion.

So lets just stay as we are and trim the fat and give Allegri a couple of players and go from there.

In an ideal world, that would be the best thing to do. In Berlusconi's world, Allegri is at fault and Galliani will be able to fix the problem by squeezing another year or two out of our older players and by making brilliant acquisitions for super star players such as Acerbi and Montolivo.

I hate knowing in my heart that Gattuso, Seedorf, and anyone else that longs to stay will be with us next season.

Totally agree.

I would let Gattuso stay if he is fine with playing a secondary role. He will take less money and if he cant see or walk, he is still there for the team motivating them. We owe him that much after we screwed him out of the Russian millions.

Galliani needs to convince Silvio that he needs a couple real players if he doesnt want Juve trolling us for the next few seasons or that this isnt the 90's and Barca/Real are the new force so you have to put up or shut up.

It will be his fault to certain extent. Last season, we were not as good as last year but in the same token we were not as bad as last year. In my opinion, Allegri is completely scared of Ibra. As I said before, I cannot deny Ibra talent; however, making the team revolve around a single player is a complete suicide. It is great while we get 3 points but when we falter it looks very clear that we are extremely dependent of Ibra. It was/is a sword with two edges.

One of the main faults of this scheme is that we became too horizontal in attack. Our time of posession became higher; however, in many games it seems that we expect that we are going to score eventually and do not have a sense of urgency.
For example in the first game against Fiorentina after the disallowed goal to Seedorf, we became happy just having posession but not creating clear opportunities.

Also, we do not need good RB/LB who can cross well because with exception of Pato (Broken glass), there is not a single player that goes towards the ball.
Plus, if this is the system that Allegri wants to implement, we do not need really much, we have Ibra plus 10 players rotating around him.

It is clear that we need a re haul on midfield long overdue. However, it seems that B & G have different vision for the future of the team.

I believe the DM position will go to Montolivo. Why sign another backup DM for Van Bommel for millions of euro when you can use Montolivo at that spot for free transfer? So basically we need to distribute funds between the left, right, and Am positions.

Aqua will be signed most likely, as will Muntari. Muntari will back up anyone who is signed for the left central midfield position. Aqua will rotate with Noce (unfortunately...I believe Noce is 'a right place at the right time' scorer; very little midfield mentality in his play but his motivation and dedication is admirable) for the right central midfield position. I believe milan will go to a formation where two attacking midfielders are used, so Boateng can play on the Right closer to the box where he seems to play his best in addition to another player. If we had two great attacking mids attacking, the other CMs would not need to venture up front; therefore our defense against counters would be better.

This sounds really good. I just don't know if Monty could play as DM. But then again Pirlo played as a DM for us. Monty and Pirlo are pretty similar players so it could well work!

Yeah, but Pirlo wasn't defensive in the least, Gattuso made most of the defensive work in midfield. Who do we have that is as good as Rino was defensively?

Juventus will probably improve alot their squad to own the italian football again... and we gonna struggle to form squads to play the CL only. Pretty annoying.

Inter couldnt buy Lucas for 30-35 so how were we going to get him??? We wanted him when he was cheap but he resigned at that will benefit him and his club.

If this is true then it was obvious that Lucas really didnt want to "stay" at Sao Paolo but his parents / agent were looking for a big pay out.

agreed.

It's deluded to think this is his fault.

We need to fix the squad first, then properly judge him.

We can judge him already.

Look what he's accomplished with such mediocre players like Nocerino, Prince, Aquilani, Urby, Muntari, Antonini, Abate, Bonera, etc. He hung in there with Barcelona with these players. He won our first Scudetto in years and came close to another one while dealing with 250+ days of injury!

In his first year, he got his tactics wrong more often that right. This year, he's built an amazing defensive and offensive system considering the players he has available. On top of that, he's the first coach to have the balls to bench the senators.

I don't want to completely belittle Berlusconi. He's a smart businessman and has done plenty for the club. But, even he errs. And his criticism of Allegri is wrong (or, it's simply another finger to point to avoid blame for our collective shortcoming).

I'd rather spend 25-30M on JoJo, 10-15M on Eriksen, and the rest toward Kolarov.

AC Milan News ‏ @Milanello

Milan will try to sign Luciano Spalletti if they don't win the Scudetto, according to tomorrow's edition of Corriere dello Sport.

There are strong indications that Berlusconi wants to hire Capello. However, he would get a role as a director, and not as a coach.

Lotito is considering to offer a 1-year contract to Nesta and afterwards a role in the Lazio management when his playing career is over.

I like Spalletti. I think it would be interesting to have a system in which Ibrahimovic's role could be that one Totti played from 2006 or 2007. Just a thought.
