Look, guys, I know you're frustrated with our crap performances. But please realize that these changes in formation you're proposing... are ridiculous. Not because 4-2-3-1 or any other formation is inherently bad... but because we don't have the squad for them.
For example, Seedorf + MVB in a double pivot is defensive suicide. You need two mobile players who can cover the width of the box (e.g. Schwein + Gustavo at Bayern Munich). And to have an Italian-quality defense with a 4-2-3-1, you also need defensively strong FBs and a winger willing to track back in defense.
Please stop posting alternative formations. Most won't work. Allegri has devised a system that limits our weaknesses, but he can only cover so much. Don't blame Allegri. Don't blame the formation.
We have a lot of crappy players and injuries.
Just remember this: Nocerino was a MEDIOCRE PLAYER AT PALERMO. He now starts for Milan. This is RIDICULOUS. But Allegri has devised a system that allowed such a mediocre player to score 9 goals (would have been 15 if he could finish better).
In fact 4-2-3-1 formation would probably be quite good. For example next year we could play like this ( cheap solution we bring in diame from wigan, monty from fiora, traore from nancy on free transfer and paloschi back from loan )
----------Paloschi-------
Monty----Ibra---- Boa
---traore - diame -----
Urby-silva-mexes – abate
Again we are talking about
cheap solution and we take in consideration ibra stubbornness (“play around me or I don’t play”).
This formation would effectively limit opponents using 3-5-2 formation. Wings in 3-5-2 would think twice when to rush forward, because something goes wrong , their backline of 3 defenders can be overrun with 3 or even 4 our attackers.
3-5-2 or some very similar formation cost us this year a lot of points. Here guilt lies only Alegri and his stubbornness with only one formation 4-3-1-2.
Juve Lazio , udine and Napoli all played 3-5-2 or something very similar and result from 24 possible points we could only manage to get 7. Not even a third of possible.
Wednesdays CL game between real and Bayern . Real fullbacks ( Marcelo mostly ) are usually storming against opponents defense, but in that game they we quite reserved, to be honest Bayerns alaba was going much forward thea real Marcelo or arbeloea. Reason for that is because on the other side were ribery and robben Yeah sure if we use formation mentioned above our winger which would more right and left attacking midfield than wingers aren’t on roben / ribery level but they could still help defensively but also present quite big threat for opponents defense.
But I agree, for 4-2-3-1 players in CDM must be workhorses who can run around in also tackle, so players which we don’t have our team (they are here but ages caught them )
But if we would experiment for siena game with 4-2-3-1m then it could like this:
-------------maxi----------------
----SES----Ibra---- Boa-------
---muntari ------- straser -----
Urby – silva – nesta – abate
