Why can't Poli replace Montolivo until hes back and we give Cristante more playing time as a result?

Honda/Cristante---NDJ---Poli/Cristante/Muntari

1. Poli's main problem is that he is slightly like Flamini. Lots of effort but too much movement.

2. Honda as LCM/RCM would probably not work.

3. Cristante needs playing time and he should get it. Everything depends on the Muntari-Essien duo.

De Jong for Lucas Leiva?

I like Lucas Leiva and I thought we should go for him 3 years ago. Unfortunately, he is just like Pato, every season he gets injured and misses lots of playing time.

No idea why we are so keen to get rid of Niang. The guy is too young for us to lose hope on him already. He did show potential, hope we won't be able to sell him.

If we play in 4-3-3 I would keep Niang, he can be usefull.

That's not really Poli replacing Montolivo... That is De Jong replacing Montolivo, because from the way things seem, Inzaghi will employ a 4-3-3 with Montolivo in the regista role (like he did under Allegri, aka his best position by far).

If the plan is to use NDJ in the middle with Montolivo at RCM, then kill me now please.

Also, for anyone that sees Honda as a LCM. We really badly need a B2B midfielder in that role. Given how much Honda struggled with the speed of Serie A (lol), I don't think he's the man for that role.

I think signing a younger CM like Baselli would be a much better choice than Cigarini, then you could possibly have a solid future at the CM position. Cigarini would obviously be an improvement though

Poli though has an eye for a pass, and pretty solid technique with the ball at his feet and he is still young, ideally a midfield of Poli--Monty--Baselli (cristante as a back up for now) would be very solid. They can all move the ball around, have good control with the ball at their feet and are competent defensively.

We are actually

Pato ----> Balo
Huntelaar ---> Ibra
Borrigol ---> Binho

Prince ---> Matri (he wws considered a better fit according to Max :lol:)
Binho--->Ljajic would have happened had it not been for Binhos wage demands

Dont compare selling to replace and selling to balance books

Cigarini and Baselli would be a pretty ideal midfield additions. Well, I should say Baselli as I've seen very very little of him (I hear good things, though), but Cigarini would fill in for Montolivo in the regista role perfectly.

What we really lack, and what we lacked even under Allegri in the 4-3-3 is a box-to-box mid.

I can't even put into words how much of a difference Nainggolan would have made. He's perfect for us.

I like Poli a lot, though. He's perfect at RCM as far as I'm concerned. Works really well with Balotelli even though Telli will probably kill him at some point in their respective careers. He is creative, solid defensively, calm on the ball, handsome, and he can finish a chance or three.

Team has me a little hopeful with positive rumors surrounding the club:

SES92-Balotelli-Menez
LCM-CM-Poli
De Sciglio-Rami-Alex-Abate

Need a B2B LCM and a CM in Montolivo's absence... I think Cigarini is PERFECT and ready for a step up in quality just as Montolivo was at Fiorentina.

I'll give up on GK improving unless Gabriel steps up and blows Inzaghi away... But just invest in one solid fucking LCM and a good CM and we are competitive with Inter/Napoli.

It all seems within reach, but so very far away at the same time #Milan

The team had problems though whenever we played with him @ anchor in a 3 man mid

So much back passes, slowing down the play... Whenever Monto played there we we're much more dynamic and fluent. Even with Ambro in 12/13

agreed.

it's weird to me they still didn't work too well i na 4-2-3-1 which SHOULD work for both.

Again missing the point
Nesta was a free agent and So was Pirlo, Im talking about selling players with value to replace them with someone more suitable to the team

And Cassano was replaced by Pazzo

I think they are just too slow and lack the fitness to cover as much ground as they were required to without hardworking players in the 3 behind Balotelli...

With SES and Niang on the wings it would have probably been much better as those two work their dicks off, but Kaka, Honda, Taarabt, etc. in front of them lol...

De Jong would probably be fine for the first half of the season in the anchor role, but long-term Montolivo is certainly the better option. I don't think they work well TOGETHER in any midfield.

Then who replaced Ibra?

So if the whole team is released, then it's fine not to replace them?

Our owners do a very inconsistent job of replacing our players.

Missing the point... I said players are usually replaced when we sell to re invest into someone better/more suited, Ibra was sold to balance the books thats a different case, I said that in the first post
