Good line-up but Kalulu > Florenzi
Neither is Barca. Barca is a small club that had a great run from 2006-2016, they've been shit for a long time, they were a small club before that and they will return to being a small club.
They won 1 CL before Ronaldinho and Rjikaard came to town. They had an arrogance that wasn't earned. Mr. History don't you remember our 4-0 dismantling of their arrogant Cruyff-led team, with out backups?
Milan had several periods of dominance. We aren't defined by one player like Barca. They're so bereft of history they try and claim Maradona, who hated his time there.
I'm pissed that I have to keep reading people who give the benefit of the doubt to other clubs that are genuinely facing terrible situations and yet pretend we are worse off.
It was money and financials that got us to where we were a few years ago, and I'm amazed that someone can just look at the numbers, just fucking math, that Barca is facing, and can talk about how they wish we were like them, with a straight face.
Florenzi with Tomori were the best against Napoli, Florenzi deserve some continuity, Kalulu in second half.Good line-up but Kalulu > Florenzi
He was getting tired. Very talented player i especially like his runs going forward.Surprised that Pobega is being taken off, he was good today against Inter. I think we have a talented kid on our hands.
He will be very useful next season. What do you guys think Hickeys from Bologna. I think he will be perfect backup for Theo.He was getting tired. Very talented player i especially like his runs going forward.
No, Sam, chill Sam, take a seat Sam, sum1 fecking get Sam a brown paper bag to breathe into... he didnt mean it, Sam... Sam, are you still with us?Dude, please.....the only metric that Milan has over Barca is the number of Champions League trophies. And they have a higher chance of catching up to us than we have winning another one.
They are in a lull but they can still sign quality players.
They have more fans than us, they have a higher global following than us, they have considerably higher revenue stream than us and more importantly they have a huge stadium.
So, in almost everything, Barcelona is a bigger club than AC Milan.
You're comparing Milan at our lowest point since the early 80's to Barca's greatest ever period, and taking that snapshot as proof of which club is bigger?Dude, please.....the only metric that Milan has over Barca is the number of Champions League trophies. I'm a huge fan, actually! I would love for him to come in to be our vice-Theo.He will be very useful next season. What do you guys think Hickeys from Bologna. I think he will be perfect backup for Theo.
indirectlyIs viagra relaxing?

Barca can't sign quality players. If they could, why didn't they this summer? Why did they have to sign free agents? Because they're going to sign Ferran Torres? He's going to solve their problems? Xavi is going to fix things because of his time in Qatar?
Let's see how many fans they have as they continue to struggle. Let's see their revenue next year, because they lost 481m with their incredible revenue stream, and they're losing more and more. Things are getting worse not better.
With just a taste of Milan being relevant, so many Milan fans have emerged, and if they start winning, which I hope, then it will grow.
It's funny, by using your metrics, are Arsenal a bigger club than Milan?
Thank you for reminding me we have a match tonight. I was so busy I forgotStarting line up for Empoli: Maignan; Florenzi, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Messias, Kessie, Saelemaekers; Giroud
Kessie starts as CAM, lol.
Before I continue, I want to be clear about something: I argue for fun. Just so we're on the same page as to the relative "stakes" of this exchange. This is fun for me.Look, I usually agree with what you're saying but this time it seems you have your blinders on.
Barca have an enormous revenue stream and future potential. They are one of the 2 biggest clubs in Spain and have a huge global reach. The fact that they are down this year doesn't mean they will be down forever.
Like others have said, clubs like Barca or Real are simply too big to fail since someone will always want a piece of that revenue pie. They have a stadium and are going even further in modernizing it and putting more seats.
They have more global fans than we ever had and their revenue is several times that of ours. Their 2021-2022 budget is over 700 Million, that's more than what our club is worth.
You said yourself that we had several big periods and they've only had one? Well, during that one, they had arguably the best football player playing for them and are only 2 CL's down on our total.
There's a lot of IF's when it comes to the growth of AC Milan but there are zero IF when it comes to Barcelona's status. Heck, even their academy is miles ahead of ours and they could still perform well with mostly homegrown players.

First, using your metrics, is Arsenal a bigger club than Milan?
Second, you are literally painting the most positive potential picture for Barca. You get that right? Their losses last year, with Messi, were 76% of their revenue, and the most optimistic projections have them losing an additional 120m (at minimum) of revenue this year. If they miss out on the CL, how are they going to be able to turn things around? La Liga's appeal is dwindling, reflected in their deal with CVC partners (which is being fought by Barca and Real), so I'm confused as to how you paint this rosey picture when every metric is nose diving.
They can't fill their stadium, and if another lockdown occurs, do you think Barca will be able to survive? Our losses are shrinking, and unlike Barca, we have an owner, and can weather those sorts of sudden drops better than Barca who do not have an ownership structure. They are 1.3 billion Euros in debt, and their desire to improve facilities, even if they do that, do you think they can pay off that while struggling to fill the stadium? How about if they miss out on the CL? That would destroy their revenue structure.
For God's sake, the result of them being shit and losing Messi is starting now. Their Rakuten main sponsor deal was reduced by 25m. Beko removed themselves from the sleeve sponsorship, only on their training gear, reducing their deal from 19m to 10m. They even stopped giving UNICEF money, for God's sake. They gave them 1.5m to feel better about themselves and they had to cut that off.
Both deals are set to expire in the summer. Let's see what deals they can get.
Our club is worth more than 700m, now you're being unfair.
And their youth academy sucks. The young players that are playing for them are not from La Masia. They bought them. Pedri is someone they bought. It's a legit crisis for them, La Masia isn't producing the talents, they're buying players to shove in there, and it isn't working. Not sure how youth system makes Barca a bigger club than us, Atalanta have one of the best youth academies in the world. But the fact La Masia has stagnated, still stands.
I could keep going, but honest-to-God, Barca's best time period is about to be met with some horrible reality checks, maybe they'll be able to limp towards some future if they make the CL, but if that stops? Oh my. Barca will be in free-fall.
The €2 billion (US$2.25 billion) deal will see the capital firm secure a 8.25 per cent share in a company comprising of LaLiga’s media rights assets for the next 50 years
Yet those debts are literally the reason why they couldn't keep Messi despite him willing to half his salary. Having so much debts can fuck you big times when something unpredictable like the pandemic happens. And right now it doesn't look like we could forsee what Covid still has in store for us.Barca's revenue is so high that they are just going to be fine, enough to deal with their debt which just can (and has been partially) re-structured and payed off over a couple decades. Just like Real and United they are a financial behemoth that lives in a different galaxy than Milan. They are about to sign a new shirt sponsorship deal between 60m and 70m, it's a different world than ours unfortunately. Our revenue was 148m in 19/20, theirs was 715m (temporary income from transfers excluded), without Covid the gap would have been even bigger.
What matters for us is that Inter is a mess financially, their debt to revenue ratio is far worse and their owners remain in financial trouble with no end in sight. They will have to continue cutting cost once the Lukaku and Hakimi money is used up and they are our direct rival.
good call but wrong dayGood line-up but Kalulu > Florenzi
That's the Christmas gift we neededSo Atalanta drew, Roma drew, Napoli lost and we won, a good way to go into christmas![]()
He knew that if he stay in football longer, people will exposed that he's a fraudTotally agree. Also Sacchi isn't really the mastermind some people make him to be, I think. He had a good spell with Milan and Italy, but those teams well full of stars, then he faded. I wonder what he would do with Krunic, FBT, Salad and co...
Btw, does anybody know why he retired at 55 y.o.? kinda young for a coach
The best thing about the Spezia win vs Napoli is that they won the game.... without a shot on goalSo Atalanta drew, Roma drew, Napoli lost and we won, a good way to go into christmas![]()
