Nah, they need maybe 5 months to gel.
Kessie gets to play next match at least. Good for him.
Busquet red on their first match of the season lol.
They looked decent....kessie faking injury after embarassing misplay

Watching the team today I was actually very happy with how good our first XI performed(except for the two goals), and we had almost a full team of potential starters on the bench.

All working towards Piolismo. We will be a revolving door of good players this season, I think we will just break down teams over the course of a game.
We were always in control and never panicky or rushed. But we were still VERY fast, both in moving the ball and in our counterpress. We saw a glimpse of our mobile CF with Rebic, but it should be even better with Origi.

Was very impressed with Theo’s defending today. Bennacer was excellent as usual. Kalulu’s moment was sublime but him and Tomori just allow us to play in such a uniquely aggressive way. Deulofeu and Success were dropping back almost to their own third and Kalulu and Tomori just stuck on them. We were rarely outnumbered in midfield, which was always the risk against a 352. We’re shaky at set pieces. It’s expected. Should be better once all our tall expected starters start playing regularly (Origi, CDK, Adli). Udinese are also one of the more threatening set piece teams, but they’re also by far the most direct team out there. We managed to easily shut that down, and in terms of worrying about teams catching us on the break there’s no more threatening team in Serie A than Udinese. We passed that test.

I said it before and I’ll repeat it. Last season we solved our defense and we figured out how we want to play, not just the overall big picture stuff but even the small details started to get really refined and innovative. We defend like one of the best teams in Europe, and the numbers reflect that. It’s also a style that allows us to attack in a unique way by giving us positional overloads everywhere. We never really were able to take advantage of that last season, moves always broke down with our less technical midfielders or with Giroud or Brahim. We got Origi, CDK and Adli now to solve this glaring problem. What we saw today was a big indication that we might have solved the problems in attack. We’re no longer expected to be so left depended, which teams can plan for. We’re scary all over the pitch.

After today's game.....I feel that we are gonna be okay in Serie A...still a long way to go....CDK and Origi will definitely help us in Champions league matches.....

I feel pioli is gonna use Diaz for Serie A and CDK for UCL....

The difference this season is that we can blow the doors off of teams again. How many matches did we go down last season and had to drag our balls through glass for 70 minutes to get an equalizer?

Udinese is a good side and a bad matchup for us… we just simply outgunned them on an off day for us defensively.

Expect us to only get sharper from here.

I really hope he felt an injury or something, but his body language really does imply he just stopped playing out of arrogance.
I thought that too but he waved his hands.
What a disgusting personality.

We need to have the ability to just out score the other team, you're right, we didn't have that last year. Now, Pioli is talking about an embarrassment of riches in attack.

I really hope we can get a CB and a CM, if we get those two, I'll be much more comfortable.

Feel bad for Eric ... this is brutal
If after all this time they get shelled by Brentford I don't see how you pointing at any of the crappy players.

All the other big name coaches they had would at least get a couple goals in such a match.

He’s following the sacred peanut path and following the masters footsteps. 5:0 at Bergamo is a pilgrimage for all peanuts. 4:0 at Brentford is close enough.
Pioli had no preseason though

Less worried about CB, very worried about midfield. I’d almost invest in 2 midfielders, a Kessie replacement and Bennacer alternative.

The atmosphere there is very negative and extreme pressure...that requires pretty much a total new squad like we did...

I’ll tell you what…. The first 1.5 minutes sucked, but after they scored the San Siro was in full song for what felt like 25 or so minutes, they were singing when Rebic scored the second I believe…. I felt like I was home again. I’ve never missed watching Milan as much as I did this summer.
