If you do it more often, you look like a whiner, looks like you pay way too much attention to the headlines, and the impact of you coming out against rumors becomes far less jarring.

Being selective about it, allows it to carry weight when you do come out, and can be a useful tool when you want to put support behind a player, manager, or whatever.

It could also look like desperation if you start selectively picking when you call out a publication. Why do it now and not the n thousand other times they were making shit up?

I’m talking about attacking their reputation by the fact they make up bullshit. Reliability of sources is crucial to the people that consume its content. If football clubs in general call them out consistently ie essentially embarrass them publically then consumers (us the fans) will truly realise their content isn’t worth the paper it’s written on, stop buying it, and kaposh, there goes there business model built on lazy made up journalism.

Exactly, Berlusconi found a way to kill two birds with one stone. Sell Milan, and profit from a cut from laundering money from his connections in China. Chinese businessmen wanted to get cash out of China and into Europe. They pay Berlusconi in cash, through Li (a patsy), and Berlusconi finds a way to give them a sort of in kind payment in other European businesses or assets to pay them back. It was clear as day to me when it was happening at the time, and i'm really surprised there isn't a grand expose proving anything of the sort happened. I refuse to believe it was all legit.

He had went on a carousel of loans, to Milan, back to Monaco, to Napoli... where he had random spurts of showing his old self. You renewed him so you could loan him out, the guy has trouble with consistency and you give him 15 games to get up-to-speed? He took 15 games of shaky performances during his good spell with Milan to finally show something.

I think it was a relatively low-stakes risk to take. You were right about him not working out. Maldini and Guintoli both took a shot with him, I'm wonder what's the issue with him.
