Maldini’s Dybala excuse collapses due to Origi costs

Paolo Maldini claimed that Milan didn’t want to spend heavily for Paulo Dybala due to their desire to sign young talents, but the costs of the Divock Origi deal cause his argument to collapse.

The Rossoneri director has been widely criticised following the team’s Champions League semi-final exit, with many fans and onlookers pointing to the poor squad options available to Stefano Pioli in the clash.

A key point of criticism has been Milan’s work in last summer’s transfer window, which came just after their Scudetto success. The team invested heavily in youngster Charles De Ketelaere, who has not impressed, and also offered a lucrative contract to free-agent Divock Origi.

Maldini defended his work by saying: “It would’ve been much easier and less expensive to go for a player like Dybala. But would it have been the right purchase for our project? Would it have been shared by the ownership? No… You have to take risks with young players.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights how Roma are paying Dybala around €4.5m net per season plus add-ons, which is only a little more than Origi, who earns €4m net at Milan.

The Rossoneri’s decision to pick up the former Liverpool striker instead of Dybala has not paid off, with the 28-year-old Belgian scoring just two goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Hey Paulo, could you jump in that there time machine thing and go back and give Frank whatever he wants... Then grab that Dybala, the lesbian looking kid... Then not sign that other lesbian looking kid from Belgium... Then sign Enzo the Argentinian kid... Then be home for dinner please.

That would be great.

These orphans man... Fuck.

My bad... I'll not change it, I'll own it, and respond with this;

I saw this and I thought those bashing PAOLO might not have seen his achievements at Milan... They've just seen his mistakes as a Director.

This guy bled for the shirt, fought ultras when he didn't agree, stood his ground when he thought he was right, and has been humble when wrong... But more than anything, he is ingrained in Milan history and some of our proudest victories.

But, he's just a man, and men make mistakes... And so do I lol X

Paulo, honestly, fucking idiot man!!!

Roger Federer is the GOAT
i once wrote that I have a soft spot for man united.. and then they started saying I was fan of them. You know I have Terrorized this forum with my edgy posts the past two years, so they had to push a fake narrative real quick.

Imo you can’t be fan of more than 1 football club. And if you are then you are just fan of the sport as a whole

Fair dues. I actually bought this narrative that you supported United lol.

As far as supporting more than 1 club, personally I don’t get it but I’m not gonna call them lesser fans for that. People can watch the sport for whatever reason they want tbh.

Franco Ordine expressed himself thus on Stefano Pioli's future in his commentary piece published this morning in the Corriere dello Sport: "The steering wheel of the club is firmly in the hands of the managers and managers of the Milan home. No influence from the square that would also like to kill the acclaimed protagonists of the past championship.

Consequently, the esteem of American ownership, as well as of the Italian technical area, for Stefano Pioli's work will not be affected by yesterday's elimination absorbed by Gerry Cardinale with two messages, one of compliments addressed to Inter, another of full support , sent to your home. For this reason, and in recognition of the precious work done (first year comeback and placement in the Europa League, second year 2nd place in the standings, 3rd year scudetto, 4th year semifinal of the Champions League), Pioli will remain in his position.
Of course they aren't going to judge Pioli on the CL. They're going to judge him in a few weeks based on if he makes the top 4 or not.

We invested big in Char_lez due to the stats.

Example. Bad investment Vs good investment. Stats only paint part of the picture.
Yes, that’s why we should never sign players with good stats right? Loftus is 27 years old and has 10 goals in 150+ games. We don’t need another Origi/salad/Messias on the books who contribute 3-4 goals per season

Friends, I don’t enjoy being a wet blanket, but given the fact that RedBird was willing to invest exactly $0 in January with Milan in Serie A contention (5 points down) and approaching a R16 tie with Tottenham, I am not setting myself up for disappointment this summer.

I’m expecting 50M at most, maybe more if player sales (lmbo) can be added to the transfer budget.

Never solely based on stats, especially over one season.

Our two in the middle aren't expected to score more than 3-4 goals per season. It's the 4 in front expected to make the difference.

Ruben is almost a done deal. If he's now physically in good condition, he will likely surprise many. He will replace Baka in the squad. Useful for useless.

so... cheeks and possibly kamada? means they'll probably send diaz packing, unless kamada is honda 2.0 and starts at RW:proud:

i like cheek's profile. he is a tank that would dominate almost any midfielder in italy. however, he would also be a gamble since he has been stagnating for years. maybe a move to another club could be beneficial. anyway, these kind of transfers are way better than signing some kids from mid-table clubs, like vranckx.

only question mark would be fitness, his injury record looks brutal.

From Spain, to the details the renewal of Brahim Diaz with Real Madrid

News on the Brahim Diaz front and his future come directly from Spain. According to what Radio Estadio reports in its program Onda Cero the trequartista currently on loan at Milan (for the third consecutive season) would be at the final details of his contract renewal with Real Madrid, the club that holds the card. According to the rumor neither Mariano Diaz, nor Asensio (nor Ceballos and Nacho) will renew their contract with the Blancos and for this reason Brahim will renew and return to the stable of Florentino Perez.

Asensio for RW?

He was also playing a lot on the right side this season - I'm curious to see how he is used if we arent switching formation but I still think the defensive posture of the midfield remains with none of our players (bar Krunic who isnt good enough to carry it) up to the job.

Not talking about which player is better - I think that was settled after Origi kept stinking it up - I'm referring to the cost implications. Most of us thought Dybala was costing them much more unless the growth decree is not a factor (ignored by the report) and then Accounting guys win that point.

Wild in all his glory still got the most important bet wrong - Divock the dud
