7 assists and 2 goals says otherwise. He is a very complete midfielder. Can do it all, just needs to refine certain areas, has every chance to become world class. He is like 22.

Edit: he is 23. My point still stands.
Just curious. Do italian players age fudge? Lot of these players, especially africans age fudge by like 4- 5 years rofl.
Tonali does not look 22 at all lmao. More liek 26 27 but yea. Hope not.

Our entire team disappeared in Jan, how is this even remotely a discussion about Leao? No one was doing well in January. There was clearly an issue at the core of the team and despite our team doing poorly, Leao still managed to get better numbers than last season with less games and will probably still get higher numbers. How is that not improvement?
ffs...

so Leao is perfect right? He can't do anything wrong right? he can just put his feet on the table and relax right? him not getting the ballon d'or this season is absolute vergogna right? everyone should just stfu about Leao right?

After his goals against Lazio and Verona at the end of last season I had hopes that he would become a high scoring Lampardesque player for us. Unfortunately Piolismo seldom allows midfielders into the opponent´s box.
Lampard is a reasonable comparison. I never thought of him as a WC player. He is very good but not the best in his position. Gerhard was a lot better. Although mentality wise, lamp's was stronger. Gerrard sometimes choked. Slippy G the bitch. Fucking bitch dove vs us in 2005 as well. Wouldn't be a penalty in drs era. Title should be revoked in all honesty.

Leao gives me lazy vibes. He is world class no doubt but he ain't no prime kaka or sheva. He is a good tier below those guys. Long long way to go.

120 mil plus for leao and I would pay 80 for omishen and get kvicha for 50 60 mil. Instant title contenders and should go deep in UCL again.

Just so that the morons in this thread understand... I'm not saying that this season's failure is because of Leao, he's the least of our worries, in fact he's one of the few bright spots of the team. He's a fantastic talent and could have a great career in front of him.

All I'm saying is that he also could have done better this season. He could have been more consistent, he could have created more points, he could have had more presence in many games and so on.

Lazy is not the correct word for him. Neither is undisciplined.

These creative type of mfs are special. And I'd rather have them use their energy to create chances, assists and goals than running like crazy just to not look lazy.

if anything you criticism is lazy and probably from 2 seasons ago copy and paste.

How old was Kaka when he won the Balon D’or? What was his numbers? I’m Kaka’s biggest fan. But comparing Leao and Kaka is lazy commentary. Kaka surrounded by world class players and Leao is not. Its just an unfair commentary plus Leao isn’t in his prime yet, so why you comparing him to players in their prime?

It’s always easy to remember glory days and say those were better, because no one rarely remembers how average we were on the league those years.

Yea true. That's why we need a kessie and hakan type player badly.

Judging by their skill set. Kaka just had better skills overall. Faster. Way more creative and was a complete player.

I agree leao is playing for an inferior side but a true generation talent would stand out even in average or mediocre sides like Ronaldinho did for psg, or Like Adriano did for parma. Drogba in France etc.

I read that Chelsea want to sell Ziyech fast because of financial fair play. So before august starts. Such a no brainer transfer to me. Serie A and our team would suit him.

Him cutting inside, unleashing his crosses on Theo & Leao flying in, I really see this working.

He stood out last season when he was the MVP of Serie A at 22 years old, carrying Milan’s attack and leading us to a Scudetto.

He has replicated that production this season despite the rest of the team regressing dramatically. This season he also helped Milan advance to the SF of the CL with a goal and assist against one of the best teams in Europe.

Please

What? You never heard of age fudging. Look up the nazio player pretending to be 20 years old. Some African dude.
Wouldn't surprise me if south Americans do the same.
Looking at some Italian players, they don't look their age either. That's why they go out of their prime after a short peak.

What are you on about man

Just pointing out that it's normal for a young player to have an inconsistent season because the league suddenly realizes he's a star and needs special attention. Kvara has had a massive dropoff once players started treating him like Leao. It's rare for a young player to be consistently good with that sort of attention.

I wonder if it’s because he won the Scudetto with the youngest team in the 3 point era…?
He was really good until he won the title when he suddenly developed a massive ego (certo) and decided he had to win at all costs.

Pioli's actual comments on CDK are weird:

On De Ketelaere: "In my opinion he has grown, unfortunately he still hasn't succeeded, or perhaps absurdly, he had more opportunities to play more at the beginning when he wasn't ready yet. Now he's better and he's having less space, I've done more choices. But he has grown, you rightly underlined how many difficulties they had at the beginning. He had more difficulties than we expected, but he has great potential".

"Perhaps absurdly"
. Maybe Pioli should discuss this issue with whoever is in charge of setting the teamsheets? Throwing CDK into the fray right after we signed him, without a preseason and then shrugging when he gradually loses all confidence.

I don't see the original comment about not knowing what will happen with CDK. Seems like that was an answer to another question and the original tweet was twisted to make it seem like a general statement about the market was specific to CDK. He said in a later question about Brahim staying that 'then I don't know what I'm doing in the transfer market. Now let's focus on the championship finale because there will be plenty of time to strengthen the team". I see nothing about him talking about CDK's future. Maybe it was a different interview?

Chelsea have a lot of interesting options because of their situation. RLC, Ziyech, Kovacic, Broja, Pulisic, Chukwuemeka, list goes on.

I think Juve might be a huge opportunity also if they get seriously fucked by the trials. I mean, if they go to Serie B then we might have a shot at Chiesa and Vlahovic.

that's just stating the obvious.

the players who handle this in the best way are the top players.

also, Leao is 24 in a couple of weeks. Let me know when he's not a "young player" anymore so that I can direct criticism when I think it's needed.

This forum is crazy.

This is the easiest top 3 ever this season but people still want to put Tonali or even Thiaw

Like both Tonali/Thiaw had a good game but Leao had 2 G/A and won the penalty. Diaz had 3 G/A and gave the pass that allowed Leao to win the penalty. Giroud scored a hatrick and was involved in a good play for Leao to win the penalty.

I love Tonali, I really do but his top 3 votes this season for him are so inaccurate
Tonali delivered the pass to Leao before the pen and gave an assist to Brahim. On top of doing the midfielder duties well all game

Giroud did nothing a tree couldn't do

The only time Leao did poorly was when he was inexplicably played out of position for a few weeks when Pioli was grasping for straws

Outside that spell, he has consistently created chances and has been this team's driving force

A rotten tree that should have been cut down a long time ago. Just in the way, throwing shade where the sun needs to shine.

That was the easiest pass ever tbf.

As for the pen, Giroud did play part in it by putting Tonali in a great position for the pass with his flick too tbf.

If there was a midfielder I would put in the top 3 in todays game it would be Bennacer, didn’t put a foot wrong all game :o

Leao has better numbers this season than last season despite playing in a broken system and 3 months in a formation that didn’t suit him at all.

It’s not farfetched to say he’s a better player this season and if we had a proper system in place his numbers would skyrocket even more.

I think he’s been a better player this season but it hasn’t been obvious because we declined as a team as a whole and our supporting cast especially in attack also declined.

If you want to criticise Leao for his inability to adapt to the 3-man formation and blame him for those 3 months of lacklustre form, then sure go ahead, I think it’s harsh but whatever.

However, when we played in our usual system, he’s been easily our best player. Every-time we played without Leao this season, we looked like a mid-table calibre team.

Id keep Diaz , all day long. He is a solid player, occasional glimpses of WC qualities, he will certainly improve over time, plus he's a true milianista

Don't get me wrong, I'd be pleased with Kamada, but still would keep Brahim in the squad
