... and dominated in CL? Maybe not. But they dominated in EL? Hmm. Not so.

After having been lectured for a year that winning your league does not count, all that matters is how a team does in CL, well ... ?

So they won in la Liga where it is now in the open that they have been paying ref and also there really is only another contender for the title. BFD. They did not "pull the levers" to win la Liga, they did it to dominate in Europeans competitions, where they clearly failed big time.
Its one year
Barca did this year what we did last year

Money isnt bad - its what you do with it - just because we chose a fiscally prudent route doesnt mean another cant work (thats my argument).

Not really into arguing this again (as you were probably away the last time it was discussed) but I just pointed out they didnt totally fail like Chelsea - their season was better than the previous - thats it.

The thing about the number pick is - Rafa can do no wrong. If he stays with 17 people will respect it, if 10 is freed up and he takes it everyone will love it. I'd want him with 7 myself, but that stays with Yacine unless he leaves the club this summer.

I feel so fucking good now. For weeks it seemed as if CL was slipping, on a days notice from a court decision we half expected but never dreamed of, we were suddenly back where we belonged. I didn't fear anything close to a full dismantling had we slipped it, but it would have been such a big bump in the road. I have said this before but I'd like to say it again, this was a necessary season. People unipolar it and call it a Pioli failure, I think it is so much more - above all an expected step in a journey such as ours where we place faith in inexperienced players and give them time. The Scudetto was a monument in the development of our core talent, but in 5 years time I think we will all agree that this season of struggle and despair was equally important. Who here thinks this squad isn't going to be sharpening their blades before the next derby? We suffered a great humiliation, but it was even greater because we're actually a really strong group. I believe struggles such as this will define the character of the players we want to trust most in the coming seasons.

The mercato will be extremely exciting. I think we will finally head into a season with a deadly attack.

ANDIAAAAAAAMOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Viva Milan!

My name is Carlo. I have lived in the US since '76, and nobody calls me Karl or Charly. If someone did, I would find it a bit insulting. I do have people calling me Carlos, but (living in California) I have given up on that (though I still find it rather annoying).

So, yeah, referring to Paolo as "Paul" is a bit disrespectful IMHO.
Well said.
Another way to look at it, the mantra a year ago was "Maldini has lost Donna and "figlio di puttana" and Kessie and even Roma, surely he will also lose Theo and Benna and Leao". More recently, it has been "Leao will never sign" (I saw this earlier today). Good to see we are past this point. (Of course, goal posts will move yet again.)
Maldini came into a new job. Not a Director of football role. More like a foreman at building site. He had a hell of a lot of messes to clean up, including shipping out endless deadwood from the previous owners and finding replacements, which he did amazingly - just look at the progress and results of his best signings - Leao, Theo, Maignan, Tomori, Kalulu, Thiaw, Tonali, Ismail, Ibra, Giroud, Krunic, Salemakers, even Rebic until he broke. I don't think we appreciate just how successful his refresh was. The underinvestment ast summer and xmas was down to FFP, new owner and Maldini and Massara not knowing their own future for much of the summer.

In the context of the above, Maldini did indeed play a master stroke with Dollarumma. Unlike previous Milan and Manchester United management, he wasn't held to ransom by Riola. We used him on the pitch until the bitter end for positive results and then upgraded him. Yes we lost money, but had we paid what Riola wanted we would have nit reinforced in other areas and be sitting pretty like we are.

Kessie contributed to the Scudetto, but he really did pull a snake move after promising to sign. As did Hakan. This season has shown that we are very poor in both positions, so there is no way we could have benched either player to force their hands. Now that Maldini has extended all the big boys and will likely reinforce key positions, he will be able to play hard ball on extensions.

In conclusion there wont be further Dollar, Kessies or Hakans unless we want them out. Also in conclusion, Il Capitano is a boss and my faith has been restored.

BTW, my name is Filiberto and in America they can't say it so I have to spell it out on the phone when talking to agencies, utilities, etc. For the outside world I use AL, much easier for them, but when I visit Italy I'm back to Fili..........I still resent my father for calling me that.

For me it’s super annoying when I meet people because for some reason they call me either “David Beckham” or sometimes “James bond”…the full name. As in: “ahh, it is so nice to meet you, James Bond”.
I have to repeat to them my actual name, idk..people must think I look like those guys or something, so annoying. Happens all the time

Kamada and RLC #Nextweek :ibralol:
Nothing over the weekend because, although most will have forgotten about it, season doesn't actually end until Verona gets stomped at the San Siro.

@MilanNews
I love ibra. He is a freaking legend but unless it's a coaching or management role, I don't see why we need to keep him. He has been riddled by injuries. Maybe 1 more year Max?
