Funny thing is, if CDK and Adli show their qualities and get games they would literally be like two new signings.

So you would prefer an SD who is a yesman to the owners and accepts even the lowest budgets instead of one who will fight till the end to increase it? To strenghten the squad as much as possible?

Maldini doesn't hold our club hostage, he loves our club more than anyone else, and he wants to build a successful, winning team. As long as Maldini is here in the management, I trust that we are building a team whose goal is to win titles.

If he leaves, it will be worrying for me, and it would signal that homeless Gerry wants to build the Italian Dortmund.

I think the summer mercato failure is not only Maldini's fault, but because Pioli is an idiot. While the Dest, Origi, and Messias signings were a flop, Thiaw was a hit (he could have contributed even earlier if Pioli gives him a chance), Vrankx and Adli should have been given way more chance. Also with a competent coach, CDK may have integrated well to our team, and wouldn't have regressed into pussy mode.
Obviously, I want Milan to be the best club in the world, but it doesn't matter what I want

If Gerry wants to be the Italian Dortmund then Milan becomes the Italian Dortmund, nothing can be done about it the guy just spent 1 billion

The only way for this Italian Dortmund plan to work is if everyone agrees on it, can't have the top guy in charge going against it

Looks like the real issue is Maldini wants indipence and on the other hand Cardinale wants a director that follow both Milan and Tolosa and this director would be higher than Maldini on the hierarchy
Gerry is a moron confirmed

My advice to you...

It's going to be a long summer, pace yourself
I survived the banter era, this is nothing.

I was about to write out my entire plan, and all the scenarios, showing how I can... not spin... persuade! Persuade people that I was right.

Y'know, people always say that it's unrealistic for the Bond villain to explain his plan... but it feels good though, I totally get it.

if we're making up nicknames for maldini then we should pick paulie in my opinion

for instance, here is paulie during the mercato while talking to agents:

Well Maldini made many mistakes: Dest, Origi, Florenzi among highest payees while bring 0 value
IMO CDK is not a problem. Shouldn't have spent almost all budget on one player, but in general If they want to focus on young players, then should give them time. Also Pioli doesn't care about developing young players, but that's another story.

Cardinale failed in January when he didn't provide any transfer budget. We are lucky to be in CL.

too many great players to list but if pushed all time favorite player: Maldini
Remember all the stress about Leao extending or not. There were multiple “stories” of him not extending and going elsewhere but Leao has extended and his buy out clause increased.

MMM will secure all the core players and ship the players they know are not a fit, in the case of CDK and Adli both will be given more time. But Mike, Theo, Bennacer, Tonali …. All the core players will extend and stay.

Again I say it the journalists will get very imaginative in the summer (they have to get paid for their clickbait) How reassuring was the official announcement from Milan regarding Leao 👌

Just chill and enjoy your summer months. Milan will build around the core and fix the problematic areas.

Forza Milan ⭐⭐❤️🖤🏆

In defense of Gerry, if I was owner I would also be questioning that shit show of a transfer market last summer.

You buy players, but your coach doesn't play any of them. Pioli only discovered Thiaw because of injuries. Please explain that to me before I give you more money. Did you not collaborate with your coach?

cdk will prove to be good business at 35M, im certain of it.... actually, im not certain cuz of pioli. but he is.

your point is valid. but this market already seems to be quite different. origi never made sense, that was a dumb move. 5yrs of playing 200min/season. a joke.
kamada is smart. sportiello very smart. nab one more bosman, and let's sign a few on-the-cusp studs
how is a wimp that gets outmuscled by the likes of meite and can't score a goal even with an open one can be a good return for 35m?

And Luis Suarez<3
Great, he signed one of the most hyped young strikers at the time from Ajax. Great job. He still broke the British transfer record for Andy Carroll.

He also signed a bunch of shit at Liverpool. They won nothing with him in charge. They fired him less than two years after he took the job.

When Comolli left Saint-Etienne, he was described by the club's co-chairman as responsible for the club's financial problems.

I don't want him anywhere near this club.

Literally nothing. The guy was genuinely surprised to learn that Milan is the second most successful club in CL after he had already bought the club. Not only does he not follow football, he didn't even bother to read the first paragraph of Milan page on wikipedia.
I don't think the fans realize how embarrassing this is.

It's embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as that Chinese Inter director that proclaimed his love for the Dutch trio.

Because they don't agree on the vision

Maldini wants Milan to be run like a top club despite being 2nd rate financially, Redbird obviously disagrees

Yes Redbird has been a disaster but Maldini is up against an immovable object here and the head guy closing with ownership doesn't seem ideal
Maldini wants the club to be run like a top club... have you heard any of Maldini's interviews the last four years? Where do you get this idea from?

He's slashed costs, haggled over deals left-and-right, and has overseen the sporting environment that has doubled the club's revenue in the span of a few years... and now you're telling me Maldini doesn't realize the issue?

If they didn't agree on the vision, then why would he sign? The owner is the one who you should assign blame for, not the employee. Owners set expectations. If those expectations change, that's on the ownership.

I don't get your take on this one, genuinely.

Just to be fair (and trust me I have absolutely zero allegiance to gerry) but wasnt the ENTIRE NARRATIVE that Maldini "received guarantees" when he signed after all that drama last summer?

So what's the fucking problem now?

One way or the other, figure it out quickly. We all don't need to see yet another drama filled summer which holds up the transfer market.

I rate Tomori, Kalulu, and Thiaw all very highly. I think they all offer different skill-sets, and it's good to have competition between them.

All players are going to have rough patches of form--and if we want to truly challenge for the CL and Serie A, then having three top-class CBs like Tomori, Kalulu, and Thiaw is the sort of talent we should aspire to have in all of our positions.

Tomori is at a more advanced stage of his career, but Kalulu and Thiaw are young guns. These guys will need time to become stable players. Kalulu has already played a lot of minutes at the highest level. He will become a monster in the future. Thiaw is a great talent.

Didn't Maldini bang the drum the whole season about we are not the old Milan and we can't spend like in Berlusconi's golden era?

At the moment the ideas of Maldini and Cardinale are different. The ownership want to have their say in the transfer market. The management’s autonomy was discussed. The meeting was not idyllic. Maldini’s departure is a hypothesis even if it’s not very concrete
