There’s some rumors that Gerry wanted Pioli out but Maldini stood up for him. I wonder if those rumors from a while ago of Gerry wanting Conte were true. Maybe they’re hoping now that they got rid of Maldini and Massara, Pioli will step down himself and they can avoid paying him.

End of the day, management is shit, owners are shit and the coach is shit. 1/3 of the problem solved. Peanuts for mercato and we are ready for another 2010’s mid season. bro, brugge's sd made a mockery of maldini when he made him do several roundtrips, and it took another flight to switzerland (summit) to close the deal

if anything, and especially during gazidis' time, the club has shown it has valuations on any player and will not exceed it by a penny. we have probably missed out on many a players in the past because of it but our cautiousness has also made us get more bangers than flops since if you don't spend/spend frugally you're also less likely to lose.

maldini during last summer was dragged on the nose regarding cdk and we lost both on time and money. moncada presumably is the one to estimate the valuation, so why would any sd laugh him off/ won't make the time of day when he comes up to him with a fair offer/offer that is within our standards? if it isn't to the rival club's satisfaction, we continue on.

spoiler alert- sd's have laughed maldini off as well in the past, that is the fault of having a moneyball plan which we unfortunately do.

Sounds like Maldini needed to do a course on project management and cost budgeting. Not that it's hard or anything but a pmp course would have been needed lel

The thing is, I’ve said this before and was told off by I’m sure it would work, the Dortmund/Leipzig model would work for us in THIS league, at least in the first 5 years if you consider summer 2023 to be our new year 0. This is because not only is it a novel model in Serie A, it would build our coffers for each subsequent transfer window while retaining a strong system.

It wouldn’t work in other leagues because so many other clubs in those leagues are following a similar model. While we adopt and perfect this model, inter, Juventus and Lazio can continue signing old, Italian free agents for immediate effect with a gradual drop off and this will be unsustainable. Next thing you know, they won’t be able to qualify for UCL and will be struggling to finish in Europa league places. I’m not against the moneyball approach in Serie A at all and who better to steer the ship than Moncada?
