100%...one thing I can guarantee is that Furlani & Moncada will be expected to run things like a business. Therefore, we won't be frittering away money for sentimental reasons such as redeeming fodders like Messias + Florenzi, extending Baka, Ibra, Pobega, Krunic + Salad without just cause plus I also expect them to SELL players if the opportunity to register a profit arises. Last summer, Pobega could've easily fetched 15m following a good season at Torino whereas Salad could also have been flipped for a decent profit like Hauge following the Scudetto win. All of these cost savings will add up and allow us to buy MORE quality players each year.

However, the downside is that I also expect some of our biggest assets to be monetised for huge profits in the near future e.g. Maignan, Tomori, Theo + Leao.

He just threw away a huge cushion for himself. We all hope for the best for Milan. But if you want to be ruthless about it, since that stupid fucking word is now the new theme here: he made this situation, and now he has to live with the consequences.

This is an industry where fans are the customers, and if you piss off people by ruining their expectations, you lose. Like when it turned out Ellen was an asshole, her show failed.

I think people here aren't too upset with the sacking of maldini. It's the way he was fired. Guess Gerry should have been more respectable.

Being a legend of the club, it obviously hurts to see him part ways. We dint complain when pippo, gattuso or dorf got sacked. All got called plenty of expletives iirc.

I agree with this. Not only Maldini is the club legend, but he's held in the highest regard by players (especially highly influential ones such as Theo, Tonali, Leao, etc.). The issue here is the way this was conducted.

At this point we can only guess the reasons, but looking from a distance I would say they didn't like last summer's mercato when he had complete autonomy, probably the scouting team didn't have a lot of influence (e.g. missing on Enzo, Simakan, Botman, Muani, etc.) - the last word was from MM. Also, he made several criticisms in the media practically demanding more investments to make further steps (but then again Pioli did it too and didn't get an axe).

This could go either way, I don't have a problem with Maldini SD leaving the club as I don't think we won't potentially find someone better (maybe even Moncada with more power). BUT, the issue here is the relationship with the team and the most influential players, then being a club legend in charge of your favorite club (football romance) and stability after several years at the helm (and bringing pretty impressive results in the meantime).

This could turn well at the end if we don't sell any of our stars and reinforce the team with cheap but ready players Moncada should be able to find. One thing is for sure, if this happens, people will soon forget about Maldini and start hailing this a great move. However, if we have an exodus because of this and become a stepping stone to big clubs, this would mean a disaster.

One good thing in the whole situation is that this practically happened at the beginning of June, so with in house solution (Moncada) taking over, we can start right away and have the team assembled by the 'raduno'.

I doubt it was Paolo pushing for CDK, more likely it was the guys Pioli is going to be left working with.
I'm sure it was Paolo that wanted Kjaer, Zlatan and overall more experience.
Moncada will push for younger players, so I'm not sure Pioli was making a dig at Paolo. Who obviously understands the need for experience and quality. Something that got him fired.

We all have a lot of sentiments for Maldini obviously. He is my favourite player of alll time - a big reason I started supporting milan and first jersey I ever bought etc .. but this has nothing to do with his legacy as a player..
