2023 Summer Budget, by source:
Sky - 70M
Longo - 50M (+ sales, I believe)
Repubblica - 35M
brk - maintenance of overall squad cost with maybe 10% increase if we're lucky

This means:

1686130001145.png

All those players in orange are expected to leave. Let's assume conservatively that we get 10m capital gain from the sales. I'm assuming Adli on loan, all expiring loans don't get redeemed, and we sell Messias, Origi, Rebic and FBT.

That would mean we drop our total squad cost from 129m to 90m. That's a 40m reduction. We would need to replace the outgoing players with at least a backup LB, 2 CM, an AM, a LW backup, and a CF. That's 6 new players.

LB backup 8m cost, 1m gross
RLC 15m cost, 5m gross
CM 15m cost, 3m gross
Kamada 0 cost, 3m gross
LW backup 20m cost, 3m gross
CF 45m cost, 4m gross
--

In order for us to simply maintain our existing squad costs we would have a lot or room to maneuver. That list I just made up adds exactly 40m to our squad cost, assuming they're all on 5 year deals. If we go into another season where we reduce our squad costs again... after 4 straight years of MASSIVE cuts every season.... after getting 350m+ in revenue and getting a profit....

...I might just head over to casa milan with a flamethrower.

I looked up to sheva and kaka like older brothers. Ones that inspired joy and wonder in my eyes. Ones that gave me appreciation for football on a deeper level. Ones that led me to a brotherhood here. that's funny to you? its unfortunate you see it so shallow. It sucked when they left because they had become part of the family.

you treat sport like a business and it loses its soul. which is why american sports in the modern era are soulless and lack everything but a kind of manufactured magic.

The family you want is a myth & only exist in your simple minded head.
Players are professionals bind to a contract to the club & they should be treated accordingly with Milan best interest in mind.
Sheva & Kaka wanted out so for sure Milan to them wasnt family.
I am not saying sell all of our good players , am saying treat players as professionals with as less feelings involved as possible.
You think us teams while i think Real Madrid.

And then we had to replace every single player.

So should we do that every couple of years if a manager fails, or when he eventually stagnates? Or does a director focus on the growth and sustainable idea that we will sign good players that can eventually fit with any manager

Need to back your manager G

There are far too many to name past & present
The young players also dont have the pressure to perform immediately either. They usually come in as backups for the senior star players and are slowly bedded in.

Vinicius and Rodrygo are prime examples of this.

Whereas Milan youth strategy seems to be buy a bunch of them and throw them to the dogs expecting performances immediately.

I think our version was getting them younger and sticking them in the Primavera and then hoping they would become good. Even tho our youth sector development has been poor for years and years.

Hold on, so you BELIEVE repubblica over Sky and Longo?

And not only do you believe that, you then also believe that the 35M budget was going to spent on Diaz, Arnautovic and RLC by Maldini?

Man, pick your side here.... I don't even know what the argument is anymore
What inspires any sort of confidence that 35 mil budget isn't what Redbird had set?

It's clear the model under Redbird is to buy cheap talent and hope they grow.

I know i will be the first one here to discuss about the budget but i think it's a complete waste of time right now, no one apart from the highest level know what our budget will look like, we have to wait and see, i can say we have a 40 million budget does that mean that if we then spend 40 million i am a reliable source and i knew something?

I actually don’t like the players posting

Not because I’m worried they will leave, even though I am.

I think it is not professional.

The directors will director, the coach will coach, and the players should play. Not post.

I get they all love Maldini and aren’t super happy, but it’s going to make a mess out of the club.

Firing Maldini might not have been an excellent choice, but it’s the choice the club you have a contract with and is paying you millions made.

Players seem to have too much power now in days. I have to give it to man city (although it because they could afford it) to sit tevez an entire season.
I like it really, it shows that they are loyal, because if that is the way that they treat a director and a legend of Milan what can they expect as players. I would be also very unhappy especially the way it was done, after he secured the contract extensions.

do we really have to know excel sheet / accounting / finance to become a milanista?
can I just become a Milanista by supporting this club and demand the owner to put more budget?

I dont understand and I dont want to understand milan's finance / budget. because it's the owner job. my job is to support this beloved club and demand for signing world class player

And what inspires confidence that it will be only 35 m? The words of La Repubblica?

Even if it is only 35 + sales, this is easily 55-60 m. Maybe 80-90 if we add Salad and CDK.
Kalulu, Maignan, Thiaw, Bennacer and Tonali combined cost less than 60 m. That's half of our starting line up.

And gems like Kone, Enzo, Muani, Caicedo, Kvara pop up all the time for 0 or at 5-10-15 m.
Proper scouting and acting fast >>>> paying big money

why don't you believe repubblica when they said 80M 2 weeks ago? or 50M last week? Why is it that 35M is the number now?
Why don't you believe Sky's 70M or Longo's 50M?

The answer as to why ppl CHOOSE to believe 35M is simple.

Real are doing a high end version of what Atalanta and Brighton are doing. Only difference being Real get to keep them when they start performing consistently.

I don't l, the answer is none of us knows, we can only merely make an informed opinion based on the facts in front of us.

Reliable cashflow, stability, investment in youth. These are all buzzwords which all point to the budget being set on the lower end of the scale.

As an eternal believer of the Red and Black colours, I’m on board to give the fury of Furlani a shot.

Dissing Maldini is that way was inhumane, but we don’t know what happened in that room.

Forza Giorgio.

Roger Federer is the GOAT
People call him immature and such but he made the most sensible post

Good for him
Why do people call Leao immature? He’s the nicest and most sensible player in our squad by far.

Because his work ethic doesn’t ‘seem’ as much as the rest of our squad? If people really call him immature it’s the most stupid narrative ever.

I’ve never seen Leao lash out on any player, never see him have a meltdown or ever disrespect anyone or a club. Heck even Tonali who I consider to be one of the most grounded players went all out to Dumfries

Spaletti even provoked Leao and he acted calm to it. In fact it was Maldini the calm figure that responded back.

I totally expected Leao to easily have the best response among the team because I think he’s the most approachable and mosts peoples/rational/calm person in the team who never lets the emotion get the best of him

:o

sorry, you are not allowed to be exited about padre's incoming cooking season

you see this shit @Qaas?:head:

Of course I’m excited.

I’m excited at the thought of us winning 10 matches in a row at the start and Pioli showing his worth.

But I’m also excited to see the narrative by Pioli fanboys if everything comes crashing down.

It’ll be a very fun market and season

No

When Real bought Vinicius they still had the likes of Ronaldo to help him slowly settle in

When they bought Tchouameni they still had Kroos and Modric.

Real have slowly transitioned their team to younger players while at the same time having world class players to help them settle in.

We buy younger players and the expectation is for them to hit the ground running because the senior players above them are rubbish or mediocre.

The one time we did do this well was with Tonali. He was allowed to have a poor season because we had Bennacer and Kessie to lead the line.

No it's not a myth... Players have always talked about the family atmosphere at Milan and it's been appreciated. It creates a goodwill towards the players.

Ofc... One doesn't need to go full r3tard with the family shit either. Need to find a balance and include what you're saying as well.

When the mofos give any indications otherwise sure.

These wankers did not even want to provide a budget for a backup keeper in January.
