Sure but being a yes man means he has to change. That’s what I’m waiting for, to see Pioli adapt to what Moncada wants. If he stays stubborn then he needs to go.

Let’s hope he can adapt

If Pioli had walked the name in circulation was Daniel Farke. The dream for GC is Conte. RDZ is hot property in the EPL which means he's currently nothing more than a fantasy.

Better the devil you know.

How did Maldini not lean into it?
Have we signed any names that were established and guaranteed starters, that appeared to be his picks?

[...]

I don't understand why you or anyone is saying CDK was his call and he therefore takes the slack. But the likes of Thiaw and Kalulu are certainly Moncada? FYI everyone backed the CDK move. People were crying over the risk of not getting him. He looked a perfect fit. With the room to grow into a deputy to Giroud too. Shit happens, he isn't conclusively a failure yet either.

First of all, I think that because of the only two official statements we have received so far that tell us exactly that - even if's only one side of the story so far and Maldini will certainly tell his version.

The rest of my convinction is made up of rumours I consider credible and historical facts. Namely the contract negotiations with Maldini last summer. What should have been nothing more than a mere formality after winning the Scudetto turned into a pure thriller. Then and now, many media reported that it was not the transfer budget that was the real bone of contention (the budget that ultimately turned out to be non-existent, and thus definitely did not seem to be part of Maldinis main demands), but the distribution of power. And then and now, everyone speculated - including many users here - that Maldini tried to cleverly exploit his new strong position, which had definitely been cemented by the Scudetto. Red Bird simply could not afford to buy Milan and, as his first official act, lose the club legend who had just won the Scudetto. Maldini played his cards cleverly - and rightfully may I add. I loved it. I'm not going to act now like I didn't.

The other fact I can't get my head around is how vehemently Pioli refused to integrate the new players, even in 2023. And then his side-blow about wanting "strong" and "intelligent" players, regardless of their age - a statement that Redbird, apparently and to everyone's surprise, didn't denounce, but even support. I simply can't explain otherwise than that there was simply much less exchange between Maldini and Pioli than before and a growing fricture between Maldini and Redbird from the het go. Or Pioli is simply an idiot. Who knows.

Now one can debate whether all the many reports in recent days, weeks and months that Maldini was disregarding Moncada's input the longer the more (Enzo in primis) are true or not. We don't know if it's true that RedBird wanted to push for Dybala and Ziyech while Maldini insisted on CDK and Zaniolo. But those rumors would fit into the picture for me that there was no more unity there, even if this is admittedly my highly subjective picture that I am painting. So I could just as well be wrong about everything I've just said

One more thing re CDK: I believe you that CDK is or was a darling of Moncada. I wouldn't have minded CDK for the initial 15-20M either. And I said at the time, that's a lot of money for a player from the Belgian league already, no matter how talented he may be. People were all over me, saying we need to take risks and he's young and will be easy to sell for a profit if it doesn't work out and that's just what big clubs do. I didn't agree, and when Maldini decided raise the offer even to 35M for him, I think I was one of the first and only ones from #teamPositivity who at least discussed Maldini's abilities as technical director.

He's been having a tough adjustment to the recent events... Give him a little leeway.
I can't, because he wants these owners to fall so badly for lame reasons, but he doesn't see that the fall of these owners means the fall of our beloved Milan

I just hope we bring in 3 attacking players(ST, RW+ guy who can play both wings) who are fast and can get past defenders.. this is the the thing we are lacking most only Rafa can do this and it’s football 101 that if u can’t beat ur defender it’s gonna be fucking easy for organised teams to defend vs you.

This is what makes our football look attrocious many games vs small teams. I don’t think that’s piolis fault tbh.

one thing can be said with certainty

if pioli had been fired, his replacement would not be someone for whom tactical analysis and videos are dedicated

Adama traore on a free isn’t a bad bet I think. Imagine being a goal up and having Rafa and adama on wings to sit back and counter with

@Gazzetta_it explains the coach has indicated the areas of intervention, namely a MF, RW, an AM & CF, several names in his sight, including Kamada, Loftus-Cheek, Baldanzi, Pulisic, Marcus Thuram and Watford striker Sarr.

Gonna be interesting to see how we can pull this off with a '35M budget'.

That's a very good point and I felt the same way. I like CDK but €35.5 million was just way too much. Maldini missed the point to get out.

Even for 25 million including bonuses it would have been okay and probably better for the player.

But just think what would have happened here if we had pulled out. Complete meltdown of the Commode.

Leao - Kamada - Cherki
Tonali - Chotard
Theo - N'Dicka - Thiaw - Kalulu
Michael
Thuram - Meh.
Cherki - Talented but super inconsistent. He gonna handle the hate he'd get?
Chotard - Don't know much about him - but instantly a starter at 21 and from Montpellier? Go ask Adli how easy it is to do.
N'Dicka - Would be a bad signing as 3rd choice - let alone starter.
Kalulu - RB? Yeah, he played so well this year. Hasn't had one good game at RB in the last year.

Corriere della Sera clairfies that when Scaroni said we would sell some players he meant redundacies and not starting players. Players that Maldini and Massara wanted to sell too

Oh just stop it already.

Only in this stupid forum you’ll see genuine disrespect to players who contributed to Milan in their time like Suso/Bona/Romagnoli and hype/worship a kid who made 1 G/A and pretty much played a big part in getting our icon/legend fired by being a complete flop or hyping Adli who has barely seen minutes.

If we had Bonaventura in AM instead of Diaz/CDK, our team would have been comfortably better, easily. It’s not even up for debate.

Stop being ungrateful for once.
Agree completely. I don't understand the hatred for Bonaventura who by the way has been fantastic at Fiorentina and fans love him. I don't think people here have seen him much with the violas and so stick with the stereotype created by our so called experts. Jack gave it all for the Rossoneri shirt, played with heart, contributed goals an assists, and was always classy, praising Milan even after he was gone. Unfortunately missed almost a whole season to injuries and took a while to get back to form. He certainly did better than our 35 million disaster, our weak little #10, and the highly over-rated Krunic. One of the things that pisses me off the most about this forum is when people laugh at the sole mention of Bonaventua like he's a joke or something.
Is he a joke to you?

The #Milan is moving on different tracks in attack: talk to #Thuram and try to beat a thick competition. Contacts re-established for #Okafor : Noah wants Italy, a priority, and it costs 20/25 million
